If we liberals were smart politicians, we would do the same on conservative blogs to vet our arguments in order to have counterpoints ready and predict the opinions that we’ll be countered with. This is probably a really good political practice. This is kinda a stupid issue to complain about, if you ask me.
If we liberals were smart politicians, we would do the same on conservative blogs to vet our arguments in order to have counterpoints ready and predict the opinions that we’ll be countered with.
And just what would you expect to learn from that? You won’t get arguments, you will get banned before any meaningful debate occurs.
Who else would want to work for that man other than liars and crooks. So on McCain’s payroll is this “woman” and a guy who designed the racial attack ads for the Senate race in North Carolina(?).
She will work well with a dishonest, flip-flopping Manchurian Candidate scumbag like John Sydney McCain III advocate of the Bush-McCain Iraq troop escalation.
I’d like to see McCain load up his staff with folks like this.
More the merrier. When it’s time to do the serious work of campaigning, these clowns will have him marching off cliffs, humming hymns loudly…
At what point dose a subtle dissension in the manner of an anonymous commenter cross the line? IMHO, When people are receiving compensation. Or they are government employees . Trolling is mercenary work and the second there is money involved the rules change. I also don’t give money to blogs who hustle donations with fictitiously named posters. I guess that’s the built in safety catch too, they can’t call themselves a news outlet if they use anonymous writers. Opinions are opinions and most of the time you get what you pay for anyway.
The 2008 GOP race for the nomination is goinng to be one great HOOT.
McCain learned his lesson in 2000. No more Mr. Nice Guy. If you can;t beat’em join’em is his new motto. He is pond scum just like the old boss.
What is interesting about that is, I think, he is jumping on the train too late. Judging by the last election, most voters rejected that sort of campaigning. The voters have woken up, and they are now informed, so smear and divide tactics won’t work anymore.
The real question is why the media refuses to label McCaine or Mitt Romney “flip-floppers” like they did Kerry and Gore. Until our corporate media begins to treat the different party candidates equally, liberals will be fighting an uphill battle all the way.
The flip-flop Senator had now hired himself a Director of flip-flop. Just in case everything turns sour on the neo-con wagon, he can claim that he was alwaays a liberal at heart.
McCain may have flip flopped and Mitt too but the Social Theocrats are not going to take either one. If they vote for either one then they become the flip floppers, too much to lose on that dilemma. Name one solid front runner for the GOP that is pro-life enough for the evangelicals.
It’s just like the latest with Rep. Goode, it’s not about him it’s about the people who support and voted for him. He didn’t wake up one morning and go, Oh so this is my constituency.
fly-man, my concern is not the fact that they are flip-floppers, but the fact that our mainstream media refuse to call them by that name after tarnishing Kerry and Gore unfairly with “flip-flopping.” What will it take for our media to call any republican a “flip-flopper?”
What is the big deal on this McCain thing? Comment by Cynicon Implant
Cynicon – Good to see you approve his tactics. It worked for Dubya and the Rover twice but may not be so acceptable this next round. Johnny Boy may have racked up a few too many frequent stayer nights in the Hanoi Hilton and sold his soul a few too many times for the people to buy his act. Being so consumed with power will not play that well with the majority of the population after our latest experience with lunatic management in the WH.
Anyone who could sit there and watch what they did to his wife in 2000 and then turn around and embrace the people who did it to get elected is a cowardly snake, period.
McCain has actually hired the guy who was behind a whisper campaign saying that he had an out-of-wedlock bi-racial child and that he was insane because of his years of imprisonment. That guy now works for McCain. McCain is a very cynical and dishonest politician and it’s about time our media stopped referring to him as “Mr. Straight Talk.” It’s an insult to our intelligence.
Back in July, the White House cut a deal with McCain:
The president would appoint ethics lawyer and reform advocate Ellen Weintraub to one of the three Democratic positions on the six member Federal Election Commission; in exchange, …..
—-> McCain would stop holding up a slew of Bush judicial and administrative nominations he had been blocking for leverage.
The Weintraub appointment was seen as crucial by reformers since the FEC was in the process of deciding the specifics ….of how McCain-Feingold — reluctantly signed into law by the president last spring — would be implemented.
BD49, I totally agree but the MSM will use the Social Theocrats to pick a fight between the GOP supporters and to me that will be more effective in the long run for the Democrats. Glenn Greenwald does some serious hypocrite ass whoppin on the the affect of Tom Firiedman’s disease on the Washington media here is a great link… http://glenngreenwald.blogspot.com/2006/12/tom-friedman-disease-consumes.html#links

December 21st, 2006 at 12:38 pmhas been hired as communications director by John McCain’s presidential campaign
Doesn’t it fit nicely? All communications from the average politician are contorted versions of the truth.

Interesting….
From this 2002 article:
