Anyone who is trying to accuse another poster of being more than one person needs to post the code and IP addresses. Otherwise it’s all just hearsay.

When in Japan, I recall seeing something on TV about a man who had succeeded in running some chain stores within a certain region–not quite nationwide–and who decided to enter college when he was about 90. As a unique character, he was quite popular with his classmates, but unfortunately, didn’t live long enough to graduate. (I think the university issued a posthumous BA, anyway.) Compared to him, you are just a youngster. So please enjoy it!

I saw the words “co-exist peacefully” and it reminded me of that actual Bush quote. Of course I have no idea what he was talking about, but I think it had something to do with conservation issues (or, the Republican version of “conservation”, which is to hunt and fish as much as possible.)

Anyway, I was being silly which, as long-time posters here know, I have been known to be from time to time. Like others, I am troubled by our own in-fighting. I won’t take sides because I haven’t gone through all the discussions on all the threads over the past few weeks in order to get all the facts. I just want peace on Earth.

Happy New Year to everyone (in case I don’t hear from you again), and best wishes to all for a healthy, reasonably prosperous new year.

And may all the people on Earth enjoy Peace.

Ladies,
Please stop the bickering with each other. You don’t have to like all your fellow liberals/progressives/left-of-the-center independents. Please save your energy for taking on trolls (when you’re in the mood) and criticizing this administration, etc.
It was around Christmastime last year that I, in fact, told a man I had met at some Democrat fundraisers to stop contacting me, because of his extremely rude behavior towards me once I couldn’t manage to fix him up with a divorced friend of mine, whom he found attractive. But our spat has not been made public–at least on my part. (I don’t call this making it public now, because none of you knows his name, city, etc.)
Even if you find some of your fellow liberal/progressive posters here obnoxious, you could spend your time more wisely on positive matters and enjoying the holiday season.

And to Zooey,
I’ve been late in corresponding to you about your college acceptance. First of all, congratulations! Secondly, my mother dropped out of high school to elope with her first husband. She later graduated from junior college at age 49, once I, her youngest (and from husband #2; at that time she was with #3), was in junior high. I’m sure you will do alright, too.

And may the trolls like Kevin, MA, Tracy, Exley, Jason MH, happyguy, etc. find some new talking points in 2007. The results of the November election should have indicated that fear and smear tactics like equating opposition to Bush with support for Al Qaeda and/or the Taliban is no longer working on most people. (It never worked on me in the first place.)
I wish I could wish you a troll-free New Year, but I doubt that such people will actually start reflecting on all the damage the Bush administration had done and go away. But Happy New Year, anyway!
