Negroponte resigns to become Rice deputy.
“National Intelligence Director John Negroponte will resign to become deputy secretary of state, a government official said Wednesday night,” the AP reports. “Negroponte took over in 2005 as the nation’s first intelligence chief, responsible for overseeing all 16 U.S. spy agencies. He will return to his roots as a career diplomat to become the No. 2 to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, the official said.” The timing of the shift is unknown, and Negroponte must be confirmed to the State Dept. position.

Negroponte is being called in because of his “experience” in the western hemisphere, particularly regarding matters south of the isthmus of Panama, now that Condi has helped Dick and Dubious totally trash any respect for America in the rest of the world…..

For a split second I thought Negroponte would return to his roots as an official conduct between the US government and terrorist groups, as a powerful patron of regimes that violate basic human rights, and as a professional hustler who devises ways to circumvent US federal law.

January 4th, 2007 at 1:01 amYou guys have to start watching the overseas news coverage. Connie is not welcome to talk to the leaders of the Middle East and other countries. Now Negroponte will be doing her job as she just holds the title. Much like Bush is holding the title as President while Cheney really is President and does the work. Well that’s what happens when you appoint your girlfriend to a job she’s not qualified for. I guess Bush just couldn’t say no to the woman he’s sleeping with.
