Radio host releases congressional ‘assassination’ schedule.

Right-wing radio host Hal Turner has posted a web statement warning members of Congress against voting for immigration reform:

“ANY MEMBER OF CONGRESS WHO INTRODUCES, CO-SPONSORS OR VOTES IN FAVOR OF ANY SUCH AMNESTY WILL BE DECLARED A DOMESTIC ENEMY AND WILL BE CONSIDERED A LEGITIMATE TARGET FOR ASSASSINATION,” Turner posted on his website.

“I know where all of my New Jersey Congressmen and Senators live. Do you know where yours live? If not, you better find out before January so you can scope out their neighborhoods and prepare yourselves,” Turner writes.

  5. Raven says:

Is this wite-wing wacktoid related to the author of the “Turner Diaries”?
    (Timothy McVeigh’s favorite field guide)

  6. Zooey says:

From the article: Asked about procedures involving suspected threats to members of Congress, the U.S. Secret Service told WND that it would be interested only if the threat involved someone the Service protects. All other cases would be referred to local police jurisdictions.

I wonder what kind of shitstorm would ensue if Al Franken said something like that on the air?

  7. kdoug says:

Isn’t there a LAW against this?

  8. katy says:

whoa… this is so illegal… it just HAS to be illegal…
    for sure it’s sick…

  9. Publicus says:

Inciting assassination is, of course, beyond the limits of free speech. This person should be arrested.

  10. red state liberal says:

Shouldn’t the Department of Homeland Security arrest this guy?

  11. Zooey says:

    #5 – Raven,

I doesn’t appear so. The Turner Diaries was written by Dr. William Luther Pierce (under the pseudonym Andrew Macdonald).

  15. katy says:

aaw… the link is world net daily… isn’t that a wacko site?
    they’re turning on their own?

really this is just too carazy… those people are scaring me…

    Comment by lft wng wackjob

But this is how you operate, through violence. And its the Republican folks with money who employ all the “invaders” and keep them coming.

  18. Zep Tepi says:

Apparently this guy does not understand the NAFTA and CAFTA things he likely voted for. (under Bush and Clinton) y

  19. patience says:

Sounds like hate speech and incitement to me.

Time for some FCC oversight and some law suits. You gotta make this sort of thing expensive or they will keep doing it.

  20. johnny says:

America is so far gone does it really matter anymore?

    America no longer exists.

    Game over.

  21. ForTruth says:

World Net Daily is the Right Wing whacko site, like Prison Planet is to the left. Funnier thing, both sites run the same stories at times, particularly the Bilderbergs.

  22. Zep Tepi says:

Yet, he also likely voted for Bush who did want immigration reform.

Cmon Hal, you dipstick, think man think.

  23. TripMaster Monkey says:

Interesting….anyone publically advocating the assassination of a neocon would shortly find himself declared an ‘enemy combatant’, stripped of his citizenship and his rights, and thrown in a hole without the benefit of counsel or a trial.

We’ll see if these chickenhawks hold true to their ‘principles’ when it’s their political enemies who are being threatened, or whether they will once again expose their hypocrisy by chortling, ‘get over it!’.

  24. nikto says:

Definitely Illegal, but ofcourse the Righties who
enforce the Law will let it slide.

    CONSERVATIVE=LYING LAWBREAKER

    Fact, not opinion.

  25. Hardy Haberman says:

When is the FBI going to arrest him with a terroristic threat charge? I am going to send them a tip tonight.

  26. tom foolery says:

don’t post it here, but what’s Hal Turner’s address? anyone? Bueller? anyone?

  27. tey says:

This is illegal and this guy needs to be brought to jusic. Time to get the police involved.

  28. Hardy Haberman says:

  31. Zep Tepi says:

Hal, we must bring Mexico and Canada into the fold to protect ourselves because our borders are indefensible as they are and we must protect ourselves from invasion from China.

  32. Bullsmith says:

This guy needs to be charged. This is incitement to violence, plain and simple.

  33. hellinabucket says:

great point trip, how many calls to imprison Cindy Sheehan for treason and here’s a fear monger advocating the assasination of elected officials. Just how far can one take that. I mean how close is this to yelling fire in a theater.

    Turner’s a scared, twisted felcher.

  34. Lesly says:

What a NUT. I disagree with granting amnesty but there may be no better way to see that legislation pass (if Turner is even right about this bill coming up for a vote).

Why, Democrats would probably name it after the victims and Republicans would have no choice but to go along with it!

  35. trueblue says:

Is he suggesting that Sen. Leahy will help the terrorists? Is he saying Sen. Leahy is a terrorist? Is this more of the “if the Democrats win Congress, the terrorists win” thinking?

    Comment by WC

    Isn’t it just unreal, WC?

    It’s actually why I asked if WorldNet Daily was for real;
There’s a story about a radio host who has threatened any Congressperson who votes for the Immigrant bill.
If it’s real, the guy’s name is Hal Turner

    Comment by trueblue — January 3, 2007 @ 9:41 am

Aren’t we a little late on the uptake TP?????????

  36. Kitty says:

Since the republicans have been in charge of the house and senate for 12 years and the whole shooting match for 6 years it would seem to me that the immigration problems rest securely on their shoulders. Why the republican uproar — it’s THEIR problem.

  37. trueblue says:

An update from my #2 post on Thimk Fast today!

    OH!
    And this gem from ThinkFast:
Don’t miss the next instalment of Ellison versus the GOP dorks.

Ellison is using, for his swearing in ceremony… a copy of the Koran once owned by Thomas Jefferson!!!!!

Too brilliant. Take a bow, Rep. Ellison.

As long as it’s a white xtian talking it’s all good clean fun.

  39. Xenon says:

    Reinhard Heydrich would be proud.

  40. chimpeach says:

Let’s see now–Janet Jackson flashes a pasty and a bunch of CBS stations get fined a half million dollars. But, so far, a right-wing radio show host encouraging people to assassinate their congressmen is just hunky dory.

  41. kerryinalaska says:

Aren’t these terroristic threats? This uglieness is terrorisim by definition. Threats of death are terroristic by nature and here it is by a right wing whacko and no authority seems to give a good shit. Our “country” is certifiable if no legal action arrises from this.

  42. Marie says:

This is way beyond first amendment rights to free speech. This is violating the FCC rules. This is criminal.
Why do extreme right wingers feel they can incite criminal activity and get away with it? Is it because they have friends in high places? This a–hole is obviously taking his lessons from Ann Coulter. That witch has been quiet lately – it is time for another eruption of poison from her lips any time now – or maybe Turner is filling in in her absence.
We are accustomed to reichwingers spewing venom, but they have taken it to another level and I believe it is now criminal.
First the FCC needs to revoke his license. Then the local police or FBI needs to step in.

  43. ForTruth says:

That was no pasty with the Janet wardrobe malfunction. It was a big ol’ nipple peircing, with like a sun ornament. Freakish.

  44. numfar says:

Let’s see now–Janet Jackson gets assaulted by Timberline and a bunch of CBS stations get fined a half million dollars. But, so far, a right-wing radio show host encouraging people to assassinate their congressmen is just hunky dory.

    Comment by chimpeach — January 3, 2007 @ 11:07 pm

    There. Fixed it for ya!

  45. numfar says:

    *sic* Timberline = Timberlake

    I can’t stand these douchebag star wanna-bes

  46. dbschell says:

    agree. Should be arrested.
That’ s a death treat of a government official.
In many states and jurisdictions, death threats are a criminal offense. If the threat is made against a governmental figure, it can also be treason.

  47. Gerald Gibson Jr says:

Incitement. Get out the law book. No no … THE law book …the big one. Now throw it at him.

  48. robert says:

One word about this Yahoo-dipsh*t Hal Turner

    STUPID

    or better

    F*&k you you F*&king f*&k (ok, that’s 5 words.)

  49. Vic says:

This kind of drool has be spewing from these goons for years. Malkin and Coulter have been some of the more recent jerks to call for the killing of some that don’t agree including Supreme Court Justices. Remember Sen.Jesse Helms said Clinton should have a body guard if he goes to NC. The GOP can say those things and have the media they own do and say nothing. This guy Turner takes pride in his dreadful vitriol.

  50. Gregor Samsa says:

This could be your LAST ELECTION CHANCE, to save this Republic.

The murder of public servant does not strengthen a democracy, it undermines.

But fascists like Turner simply have a very limited contact with reality and do not understand the contradiction that it is to assassinate an elected official in order to save the republic.

The public discourse in the USA has reached an all-time low. Such a sorry state of affairs. We can all thank right-wing radio and TV for that.

  51. poodle head says:

oh boy! more of that hilarious and challenging right-wing entertainment! I guess if I had a REAL sense of humor, I’d really be laughing it up right about now.

  52. PantsB says:

Seems to be a textbook case of U.S. Code : Title 18 : Section 2385

Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or
teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of
overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or
the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession
thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by
force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of any
    such government; or
Whoever, with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of any
such government, prints, publishes, edits, issues, circulates,
sells, distributes, or publicly displays any written or printed
matter advocating, advising, or teaching the duty, necessity,
desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying any
government in the United States by force or violence, or attempts
    to do so; or
Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society,
group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the
overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or
violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any
such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes
    thereof –
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than
twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by
the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five
    years next following his conviction.

Inciting treason or rebellion through the means of assassination is not covered under the First Amendment.

  53. Jaded Prole says:

Has this guy been arrested yet?

  54. freebird9 says:

arrest this f*ck!! This is so illegal. So ILLEGAL!!!!!

  55. Wayne A. Schneider says:

Well, I hope ThinkProgress will keep us updated on this story. Please let us know when he’s finally arrested for threatening a member of Congress (which I have to imagine is against the law. I mean, even if it wasn’t before the Republicans took over, does anyone think they felt they would be safe? Especially after a guy tried to break into the Capitol and shoot Tom DeLay?) If this guy is allowed to walk free after going way over the first amendment line, then there really is something wrong with this country. Let us know what happens to this guy. Because if nothing happens, there’s going to be a lot more talk like that. And then some idiot will do it.

  56. The Trucker Pundit says:

This is a WND story posted December 6th. Why did it take a month for us to notice it?

  57. katy says:

    good question, trucker pundit…

    patricia reglin @ 4:32 am – that is RICH !!! … i copied it to save…
don’t want to lose that lil’ masterpiece…

  58. Tracy says:

Go thing many people here in the this blog remain anonymous. LOL!

  59. James M Booth says:

Turner is the kind of jackass that causes other people’s rights to be taken away – not just violated. Assuming someone does not take him out (not talking about ‘behind the woodshed’ either) he needs to do some serious hard time – figure out what life is all about.

  60. NAPOLEON says:

hal is right. america is already a thirdworld ditch. unless drastic measures are taken america wil be but a corpse for the mexican hyenas to feed on. get your head out of your ass, you bunch of pinko-commie-selfhating-degenerate weaklings.
