himself to Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) today on the House floor. In an earlier letter to his constituents, Goode attacked Ellison — the first Muslim elected to Congress — and warned “American citizens” to “wake up” or “there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office.” Watch it:
class…
January 4th, 2007 at 3:06 pmWell the video, makes it look like they were pretty friendly. Goode didn’t start screaming, and run in fear or anything.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:06 pmWait until Ellison unveils his secret Islamic superpower! Creating clones of himself, like Multiple Man!
January 4th, 2007 at 3:08 pmEllison = Class
January 4th, 2007 at 3:11 pmI am proud to claim Ellison as a fellow Minnesotan. If I had lived in Virgil’s district, I would have had to move.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:16 pmMan politicians are losers. I watch that video and realize both are simply pushings issues they could care less about. They look friendly and happy to be around each other proving that they both make issues up out of thin air simply for votes. Ellison doesn’t equal class. A classy man would confront an person like that and set them in there place. A Classless person shakes there hand and spends time with them. A complete villian makes crap up to get elected even though they are friends.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:17 pmWow Keith Ellison didn’t suicide bomb himself on the House floor.
That look of surprise on Goode’s face is him shitting himself
January 4th, 2007 at 3:17 pmI’d like to know what he said. I’m sure Goode said something like “Yerk” in response because those kind of guys are wimps when confronted.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:21 pm#3 Norbizness
I couldn’t get my eye off of the Rebecca Romjain Stamos, wearing nothing but blue makeup.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:22 pmOld school class lesson that Bill Clinton uses. Keep your friends close but your enemies closer. Ellison did show class but let’s hope now that Rep. Goode got an American history lesson and even learn something about the State he represents it could happen. President Thomas Jefferson was a great President from Virginia and the area that Goode represents yet he know little to nothing about the history of his on State or town. He’s not the only uneducated elected official. Look at Mass. new Governor who used John Q. Adams bible given the Adams by the slave from the Amistad. Romney who state reading up on his State history as he now thinks he’ll be a President like Bush. Born with money and skipping out of military service with his now law of men having more then one wife. Oh let’s not forget the bring back the slave issue with hate gays. Romney will have a short run for President as he’s totally out of touch with the current United States of America. Bush learned that lesson on Nov. 7th
January 4th, 2007 at 3:26 pm#1, my thouhgt exactly
January 4th, 2007 at 3:28 pmWas it just me, or did the old white politicians try to close ranks around Goode, trying to protect him from the scary Muslim? Funny.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:31 pmRoger_Roger sez:
Wow…looks like you and I have a serious difference on what constitutes class, Roger_Roger.
By the way, I’d like to confront you regarding your inability to distinguish between ‘there’ and ‘their’. Hey, I’m confronting you, so it must be ‘classy’, right?
January 4th, 2007 at 3:34 pm“Ellison doesn’t equal class. A classy man would confront an person like that and set them in there place. A Classless person shakes there hand and spends time with them.”

This is hilarious! Everything ass-backwards as usual! LOL!!
January 4th, 2007 at 3:34 pmWow, Rogerx2 shows the blend of cynicism and naiveté that I’ve come to expect from a Republican apologist. In the same breath that they condemn “all politicians” they also show undying loyalty to whatever conservative lawmaker that knows what buttons to push. Personally, I wish they’d stick to the “I don’t trust politicians” script and get their shallow butts out of the system. They’re gumming up the works.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:35 pmI’m surprised Goode didn’t whip out some Purell. Ellison was right in doing that. It will make it harder for Goode to spew his vile after there is a video of him shaking hands with the “enemy” within.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:36 pmSee Virgil, he didn’t suicide bomb you, cut your head off, OR ANYTHING?!
January 4th, 2007 at 3:36 pmR2 = 14yr old (?)
January 4th, 2007 at 3:37 pmEllison should go around introducing himself as Virgil Goode. Heh.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:37 pmTo Roger class is taking off your graduation ring before you punch an old lady in the face.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:37 pmWhy doesn’t this Goode guy shut his fat mouth. How could anyone vote for this guy? What a shame. Is this all we are going to hear from this jerk?
We have more important things to discuss than what Rep. Ellison will do in congress because he is a muslim. Maybe Goode should resign from the House if he does not like Mr. Ellison. The people in Minnesota vote for this man to represent them in Washington DC.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:40 pmwill make it harder for Goode to spew his vile after there is a video of him shaking hands with the “enemy†within.

January 4th, 2007 at 3:44 pmEllison’s family was in America before Jefferson ever read that Quran.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:44 pmAnd Roger2, he has more ‘class’ than you can imagine.
I’m proud to be a Minnesotan today.
Good luck, Mr. Ellison, we got your back.

I was going to go there but….alluding Saddam with Ellison feels kind of icky even if it is to crack on the Repubs and their ethical deficiencies.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:46 pmTripmaster Monkey,
I apoligize but I am a graduate from the American Education System. Sadly, our Colleges are Federal institutions which means they are run by the government. This all means that they provide us we a subpar education. I guess it isn’t suprising as a government program is always a bad idea as they always do it worse. If only they let the free market influence education. Maybe I would have learned the difference between there and their!
January 4th, 2007 at 3:48 pmI seriously doubt that Roger_Roger has a graduation ring.
More likely, he might have a “two-bit ring from a Cracker Back jox.” – “How Can You Be In Two Places At Once When You’re Not Anywhere At All” by Firesign Theatre
January 4th, 2007 at 3:50 pm#6
Roger, maybe Ellison sees Islam as a religion of peace and he’s trying to make an impression on Goode. He has plenty of reason to be hostile towards Goode. The fact that he isn’t shows he’s a far bigger man than Goode will ever hope to be.
Was that the best you could do to find something to criticize him for?
January 4th, 2007 at 3:54 pmHAHAHAHAHA! That is so funny. So it’s not your fault that you didn’t get off your posterior and learned anything. It’s not your fault that you didn’t shell out the extra bucks to get education at a private school. More baloney from pass-the-buck neocons.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:55 pmWhy was this Muslim, Ellison, allowed to become a member of the US Government? Any Muslim should be banned from taking any sort of role at any Federal, State, or Municipal level of Government of the USA, … even School Boards and City Council bodies, because all Muslims (whether born or converted) are extremely backward and ignorant about Western society, Western mores and customs, and the Western Christian way of life – and are therefore extremely dangerous. No Muslim deserves the so-called religious tolerance that is apparent in the USA. And they have learned about this namby-pamby tolerance legislation present in the USA and viciously take advantage of it… whining about racism and hatred.
Some readers may take exception to that first paragraph above. Let me explain what you may not know about Islam and Muslims. Their sole aim and agenda world wide is to take over the Governments slowly and surely, and then introduce their outdated and horribly backward rules about society, education, laws, and relationships. All of their beliefs are rooted in an era 14 centuries ago. Already, schools in the USA are forced to provide prayer times for Muslim students. What happened to the separation of State and religion there? When Muslims become a majority in the US Governments, then God help everyone who will have to follow the extremely outdated, viscious and bigoted so-called “Sharia Law”. Criminals will have their hands cut off, women who have premarital relationships or meet single men will be stoned to death. Any young girl will be forbidden to have a meaningful and growing-up relationship with any boy. Any woman, single or married, will not be allowed to go out of her home without an escort. Children will no longer be able to study the many and diverse subjects that they can now study at school, they will – like all children do at the many Muslim madrassahs around the world – have to learn the Quran by rote, and forget about science, mathematics, geography and music. Is this unbelievable to you? Sorry, but this is what is happening in all the many Muslim countries around the world. Why do you think that the Middle Eastern countries need so many Western and European consultants? It’s because the Muslim system of education does not and cannot give the necessary skills to students to master and grow in the technology-rich world.
Muslims (especially those really weird Wahabbis from Saudi Arabia) believe in Sharia law (which degrades women horribly, bans proper education of citizens, and allows innocent women to be stoned to death). Muslims are backward as they still live in the era of 14 centuries ago – Islam has not allowed progress in education, society, art, science and music. No wonder that many world leaders in the West have stated that Western society and its centuries of progress have left Muslims in the dark ages of 14 centuries ago. Muslims are wicked and dangerous, as the Quran distinctly calls for all infidels (unbelievers such as you who live in the USA) to be executed and destroyed.
Muslims are extremely corrupt, dangerous and weird, because they say that their prophet must be believed and obeyed… This is extremely dangerous to Western society, because their prophet Mohammed was a deranged psychopath who was also a pedophile – because he married a nine-year-old girl and sexually diddled her because this was allowed in his backward society and corrupt interpertation of his religion. The Islam way of life, and the Muslim religion, are backward and ignorant and should be banned totally from all Western countries. The sooner that Western civilisations wakes up to this, the better of they will be… believe me.
Ellison, a believer in Mohammed, who was a child molester and pedophile, should be banned from any Government post, period. No Muslim should be allowed in any position of authority or influence in the USA or elswhere in our Western Society.
January 4th, 2007 at 3:57 pmI apoligize (sic) but I am a graduate from the American Education System.
While you’re at it, learn how to spell apologize and the proper rules for capitalizing words.
By the way, pantload, your post sounds like the kind of “victimology” that you neoconned dittoheads are always criticising. I seriously doubt that you would have been any better off in a “free-market” education system — it is just plain hard to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

Mainly because we are not a bunch phsycopathic racists, and our country believes in fairness and equality. It has been a long process, but it is also the reason we have been successful where other countries have devolved into barbarism.
January 4th, 2007 at 4:12 pmLOL For truth, if we banned any form of extremist fundamental religion, the whole south of this country would not have any representatives, and GWB bush would be the swing shift manager at the local taco bell.

How so? I mean you always complain that the left is to mamby-pamby. We are just calling you what you are. January 4th, 2007 at 4:54 pmWhy didn’t Ellison walk up to Goode and say “F*** you, Goode” on the floor today. Classy and confrontational, eh Roger Rabbit?
January 4th, 2007 at 4:59 pmRoger had to wait until COLLEGE to learn the difference between there and their??? And then still couldn’t get it through his thick skull?
January 4th, 2007 at 5:03 pmI learned that BEFORE 4th grade!!! And I have an admittedly spotty California public school education!
What an idiot.
But he sure does give us all something to laugh at every day!
Keith Ellison represents my district in Minneapolis and I am pleased to have him as my rep in Congress. We were really fortunate this election here in that we had 3 strong Democrats running in the primary and all were qualified, so I would have been happy with any of them. But voters seem to have united around Keith after the election and seem generally happy.
This is a pretty fun state in which to be politically active; Minnesota consistently has the highest voter turnout in the country every election year and in my precinct in Minneapolis, young voters, ages 18-25, turn out in record numbers as well.
January 4th, 2007 at 5:09 pmWhen you drag a $1 bill through a trailer park Rep. Goode is what you get and Rep. Ellison new full well when he let it be know that he was using a Koran that is what he would get.

January 4th, 2007 at 5:31 pmGeorge – You would still be writing like this MCXII insted with actual Arabic numbers if there were no Muslims. Also, while the Christian church destroyed all scientific books, the legacy of the centuries of civilisations from all over the world, if Muslims did not save some of them for the Enlightment to take over you wouldn’t have your PC today. While western civilisation was struggling with plague and Dark Age, scientists from all over the world of all religions (including those who escaped burning at stake by the church) were gathering in scientific simposiums in Muslim Bagdhad, a greatest metropole of the time. While dirty sick people were walking in the streets of European cities eating eachother like in Paris and London (with a few doezens of thousands of citizens) the metropolises of millions of citizens like Damascus and Baghdad were the places were eye surgery was performed on the patients, among other things. And these are only bits. Keith Ellison approached Goode because his religion commands him to keep the cool, always. How to react in this situation when a neo-Nazi congressman attacked him in a climate when half of America on th verge to adopt the nazi ideology (all these identical things have been circulating about the Jews in pre WWII Germany) he searched for an advice in Qur’an. And look how he triumphed in this situation.
January 4th, 2007 at 5:34 pmGeorge, why are born-again christians allowed to take office in the Congress of the United States? They openly swear allegance to a “higher power,” they advocate the destruction of the world and many of them “hear voices.” This seems dangerous to me. George, look into that for us, will you?

January 4th, 2007 at 7:08 pmI live in District 5 in Minneapolis, MN, but did not vote for Keith. After seeing how he has handled his adversaries, though, I am happy he is representing myself and my fellow neighbours. Cheers.

You have a good point we should keep the rubber stamp Congress and bring back Foley to abuse kids and let Jack, Duke and Ney out of jail. Let’s bring back the good old boys. Hi since you feel Ellison shouldn’t be allowed to run for office let’s bring slavery that way it want happen. Just love you Jim Crow fellows. Oh as for the minorities serving in the military well push them in front to die for wanting to be Americans. Yes Goode has alot of ignorant followers like the Bush Administration. Let’s do what Nixon couldn’t have one party and just rich and poor. Let’s hope that those who suck up to Bush are allowed to be in the plus section. No wonder the United States is so messed up with some idiot following idiots this is what happens. Thank God there are more Americans with class and command since and are bringing back the values we really stand for.
I’ll make sure I send George’s comment to my son in Iraq I know he needs a laugh. He loves to read the comments of how Americans view our current leaders. Some of his stories are just coming out to the media.

I keep hearing all these bigots spouting off about what the Quran teaches……..and people like George fail to recognize that the Bible is just as bigotted, sexist, discriminatory, derogatory, and harsh if applied literally as well.
I have to have some respect for someone who believes so strongly in their faith that they actively practice it every day, that they stand up for it when it is unpopular. Kind of like someone else some of us know (Jesus Christ).
Maybe our country wouldn’t be in the shitter it is if the so-called Christians in America today actually did something positive and worthwhile with their religion other than spout off out-of-context scripture when its suits them.
Maybe out country would be better off is people were as critial of Christianity as they were of Islam.
Until you can fairly apply your bigotry to ALL religions, you are just that…and ignorant bigot.
