Geraldo wants to fight Keith Olbermann.

During a radio appearance, Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera called MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann “a coward — specifically a ‘[female part of the anatomy] who wouldn’t walk across the street against the red light.’ He then said he was ready to fight him, saying: ‘I would make a pizza out of him.‘” Geraldo has previously attacked Olbermann as a “lowlife” and a “schmuck,” and said Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert “exist in a small little place where they count for nothing.”

Gerry Rivera has been a joke for a long time. Keith is relevant and a hot commodity right now. Poor, pathetic Gerry.

  8. Spudd Says:

Geraldo's just a poor bastard who's angry that he's fallen into irrelevance, and the only way he can get onto television is through the Faux Garbage Dispersal Unit.

  9. Raven Says:

Was this picture from injuries received in the line of his journalistic duties, or when he had a septum transplant from another line of work?

I hated that song 'Rico Suave' anyhow.....:)

  12. Darin Says:

Nobody cares what Geraldo has to say about anything anymore as his canceled shows ratings indicate. Go back to looking for Al Capone's vault and let the adults do the news Geraldo.

  23. LWM Says:

This isn't the first time Geraldo has flapped his gums and written a check with his mouth that his ass would never cash. He once wanted a rumble with Bryant Gumbel.

  24. Uncle_Ho Says:

Apparently Geraldo still hasn't lived down the Al Capone's vault debacle. Tsk, tsk. Get a life jerkweed!

  25. Jeanne Says:

Why does anyone take Geraldo seriously. He's a hack. Remember Al Capone's safe. Remember what was in it? That's about sums up all of Geraldo's stories.

  41. Mr. Evil Says:

Well, Tracy, inform us of Geraldo's journalistic credentials. What major stories has he covered? Name a few (or just one for that matter) reports he has done that was a real investigative coup. Geraldo is nothing more than a sensationalist as he has always been. He's a crappy journalist because he was a crappy lawyer.

  42. carsick Says:

I think it's sad that Geraldo is now using profanity and demeaning women to challenge a man to break the laws of our United States.
What is he? almost out of a job or something?

  43. Not Dick but Richard Says:

Olbermann has class and truth on his side. Geraldo (Jerry) Rivera (Rivers) is an opportunistic loser whose star faded two decades ago. Let's ignore him and he'll go away once and for all.

Rivera may be attempting to emulate, with his attempt to demonstrate his supposed pugilistic skills, macho writers such as Ernest Hemingway and Norman Mailer. What Rivera seems unable to comprehend is that Hemingway and Mailer honed their skills and talents not in the ring but behind a typewriter. It remains to be seen if history will ever determine what skills and talents Rivera has possessed other than an indulgence in self aggrandizement.

Yeah, but what about Bryant Gumbel? He started off in sports and began a successful stint on the Today Show and presented better journalism skills than Katie, Matt and Al. He's back doing sports, but he does it in a 60 Minutes style rather than the flashy style of ESPN. Don't forget Jim MacKay when he covered the kidnapping and massacre of several Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics by terrorists. Then, when the 1989 World Series in San Francisco was delayed by an earthquake that leveled devastation, ESPN reporters even covered the earthquake, never mind the game, for a few days.

So you see, there is a human story insports as there is in regular news.

  77. Exley Says:

I am not a super-big Geraldo fan, but the fact is that Rivera’s work as a reporter at WABC helped bring about much-needed reforms in the care and treatment of mental health patients:

“In 1971, Geraldo Rivera brought the horrors of institutional existence into our living rooms with his Willowbrook expose, forever changing the role of the state run institutional system. Rivera’s expose and book on Willowbrook titled, “A Report on How It Is and Why It Doesn’t Have to Be That Way,” was the catalyst that brought about the class action lawsuit primarily responsible for changing this archaic system, New York State Association for Retarded Children, et. al. and Parisi, et. al. v. Rockefeller.

The Willowbrook case led New York State to adopt sweeping change. Moreover, it became popular opinion that these deplorable conditions were unacceptable for people in state-run institutions, regardless of mental disability diagnosis.”

New York State Mental Health Association

    That’s a substantial achievement.

Olbermann's biggest journalistic accomplishment, by contrast, is telling viewers that the Anaheim Mighty Ducks defeated the Boston Bruins, 2-1.

  78. Whitey HermAphrodite Says:

#64 The day that the nazi Olberman is killed will be a good day -Rick

Ah Rick the Pr1ck, reasonable as always. Rick, let me stop your incest ridden man-train of a thought process for a moment to point out the irony of you calling someone else a nazi. Now I know that the only form of irony you flaghumping steroid addled neanderthals understand is the type that bullets are made from, but let me try to point out a few ironic things in the brief but thoughtful statements you make on this forum.

#1 You are essentially advocating someones death because they disagree with you politically. Now I'm no history buff, but it seems to me violent supression of political opposition is probably something the Nazi government of germany was pretty keen on. Thus, by your advocating the death of someone you accuse of being a nazi, you are behaving in a very nazi-like manner yourself.

As I mentioned previously, the irony of this is obviously lost on you and your inbred ilk.

#2. By constantly calling people "left wing nazi's" you are demonstrating your complete lack of understand of Nazi idealogy. Nazi's were fascist, they were right wing, they were anti-communist and therefore anti-leftwing.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazism

"Nazism is not a precise, theoretically grounded ideology. It consists of a loose collection of ideas and positions: extreme nationalism, racism, eugenics, totalitarianism, homophobia, anti-Semitism, anti-communism, and limits to freedom of religion."

Extreme nationalism? Rick, is america ever wrong? Can you remember a time they were wrong in the past?

Racism? Tell me Rick, how do you feel about brown people?

Totalitarianism? Rick, do you think judges should have the right to decide whether american citizens should be in jail? Do you think that we will be able to kill all these brown people who hate us anytime soon, or are you pretty much an advocate of your hero Dumbya and all future presidents having unlimited power to detain american citizens and snoop on any american for any reason at any time? Do presidents ever lie to further their own ends rick?

Are people who oppose putting that much power in the hands of one branch of government the ones who are the totalitarians?

Homophobia? How do you feel about gays Ricky? Do they threaten your sexuality?

Anti Communism? well we know how Ricky feels about that one.

Limits to Freedom of Religion? Tell me ricky, how much freedumb should them there Islambs have to hoot and holler about Allah? I'll bet you think they should have alot huh? Just as long as they don't say anything as seditious and treasonous as olberman, huh?

So, my macho redneck friend, let me make something very, very very clear. If there are any Nazi's around here, anyone who vaugely resembles them, it YOU. Your neanderthallic, proto-reptilillian fantasies of "lining up against the wall" people who don't agree with you are NEVER, EVER going pass in this country.

Your scum, your idealogy is corrupt, shortsighted and hipocritical, and every day the numbers of people who think like you dwindle more and more.

Your meth addicts dream is almost over, your empire is on fire, and I for one am very amused to see how cowfuking horsesh!ts such as yourself malfunction when faced with reality.

So keep spouting all the tired, rehashed venom you want, it serves as nothing but amusement for us, and to the undecided, its just further proof that people who think like you belong back in the stone age, buried under a thick layer of sediment to keep the smell away from those of a us with a triple digit IQ and a fully functioning cerebral cortex.

  80. Exley Says:

#80...Haven't you learned your lesson after ThinkProgress deleted several of your postings from the "Warm Weather Wreaks Havoc" thread for vulgarity? You've been chastised once by ThinkProgress. Don't let it happen again.

  81. smafdy Says:

    Hey Exley @ #79:

1971? 1971! I was in the freekin' 6th grade in 1971. I wrote an essay on what I did that summer. I still enclose a copy of that essay when I send out a CV. Haven't done such good work since then, though. Maybe that's why I don't get many clients. It's hard to be taken seriously in 2007, when the last good thing you did was in 1971.

Tracy: you are obviously a deranged tnuc.

Geraldo Rivera is a inflated-ego, sleazeball, hack, dickweed.

  82. Exley Says:

Smafdy, If you accomplished something once in your life as significant as what Geraldo Rivera did in the groundbreaking Willowbrook story, you have the right to be very proud.

  83. Exley Says:

Good for ThinkProgress for apparently deleting the original posting #80. Although that poster tried a different screen name, his IP address must have still been on file. He was deleted on another thread for vulgar and abusive language. Seems TP has banned him. Good for ThinkProgress for allowing the free discussion of ideas and ideologies without letting such discussions to be hijacked by immature and offensive vulgarians.

  84. smafdy Says:

    Exley,

One good deed does not an angel make. He can be as proud as he wants - leveraging his erstwhile reputation in the persuit of honor among the dishonorable negates the good deed. I stand by my opinion of the man. As the saying goes: what has he done for us lately?

  85. Exley Says:

Smadfy, As I said in my initial posting, I am not a super-huge Geraldo fan. Of course, I recognize that he is also the same guy who opened Al Capone's "vault," had a trashy afternoon talk show, and devoted most of his CNBC show to the O.J. Simpson trial (By the way, how many people here remember that in his CNBC days in 1998 and 1999, Geraldo was a stong Clinton supporter and harsh GOP critic during impeachment?). But I just wanted to fill the historical record and show that once Geraldo was once a great investigative reporter who helped bring about much needed reforms in the care of the mentally ill in New York State.

By contrast, Olbermann's biggest accomplishment is reporting that the Golden State Warriors defeated the Portland Trailblazers, 97-89.

  86. smafdy Says:

    Exley,

Your caveats are noted. However, the fact that we are discussing Olberman is proof of his stature beyond sportscasting. Right now, I wouldn't even categorize hm as a reporter or journalist - he's a commentator (as are most of the talikng head right-wingers on Faux). The difference between Olberman and the gang of thugs at faux is that he stands, and for some time has stood, alone in the face of a loudmouthed right wing media mob. His courage and principles (not his delivery) put him head and shoulders above the average sportscaster, and certainly above the spotlight loving Jeraldo Riveria.

No matter what he did in the past, Geraldo sucks NOW.

  87. Ron Russell Says:

As much as I dislike Faux News and Geraldo, Faux should show case him in the time slot that brings the most ad dollars. He could have the Repug's favorite pet Democrat (Joe Loserman) on every night!

Yes, I would like to see Murdoch continue to take it on the Chin, as their ratings continue to slide into the toilet.

Okay, Tracy, I agree that #38 & 39 did not use the sort of language I would recommend or use. But in my opinion their words are still milder than:
"The day that the nazi Olberman is killed will be a good day.
    Comment by Rick"

Funny how you always notice (or cherry-pick) the harsh words from liberal/progressive posters but not those from the neo-cons.

  89. Keyser Soze Says:

Geraldo lost the plot decades ago. Comparing "journalistic contributions" no longer applies. Rivera is in his 60s and has been around for a very long time, but is no longer relevant. He is so full of himself that he can't figure out how ridiculous he has become over the years.

  90. Joe Barboza Says:

Geraldo Rivera is a washed up grandstanding wanna be reporter.

It will be interesting to see what feeble attempt he makes to stay in the public eye after he's done licking Bill Orally and Ruperts bungholes clean. Bill O and Geraldo are both two little self serving weasels.

  91. Exley Says:

88, 90....I am pleased to see that you have learned from your chastisement by me and ThinkProgress and are now refraining from your immature use of vulgar and sexist language. I trust you will conduct yourself properly from now on. You don't want to be deleted by administration again.

  92. Lora Says:

By contrast, Olbermann’s biggest accomplishment is reporting that the Golden State Warriors defeated the Portland Trailblazers, 97-89.
    Comment by Exley

    From wikipedia,
"Olbermann ... in 2001...worked for a time as a regular contributor on CNN and provided twice-daily sports commentary on the ABC Radio Network. The September 11, 2001 attacks provided the impetus for Olbermann to return to full-fledged news reporting. He won an Edward R. Murrow Award
for reporting from the site of the attacks for 40 days on ABC Radio and Los Angeles radio station KFWB."

Sorry, Exley, but an Edward R. Murrow Award for reporting sounds like a prestigious accomplishment to me.

  93. RoweMoore Says:

18 years ago Geraldo challenged me to a fight. We were working on different shows at the same studio in mid-town. Everytime I passed him in the hall, I said "hey Jerry, how's it going?" He finally lost it and said we should take this outside. I just laughed. Next day: :Hey Jerry, how's it going?"

BTW, the reason for my childish behavior? He was a real AH to everyone around him - a real primadonna. And I was in my early twenties.

  94. Jeremiah Says:

Stephen Colbert goes off about Geraldo Rivera & Bill O'Reilly on The Daily Show.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arTLwH1CVTs

Stephen Colbert: "What are you implying John? That O'Reilly & Geraldo are narcissists enthralled with their own overblown egos, projecting their own petty insecurities onto the world around them, inventing false enemies for the sole purpose of bolstering their sense of self-importance, itty bitty Nixons minus the relevance or a hint of vision? How dare you!"

  95. JIMBO Says:

    #97

    Lora,
That's exactly what I was trying to point out to Exley. That those who started in sports graduate to something better or even prove to be useful in non-sports related news. The fact that you pointed out his Edward R. Murrow award should be enough to shut him/her up.

I think Geraldo might have left NBC News to go sell his soul at Faux News following 9/11 if that's true. If so, then we know what the little shit's intentions were. To believe that he was the reporter to cover the War on Terror when in fact he was living up to the lyrics to a Carly Simon classic, "You're So Vain." He wanted to be the next Christiane Amanpour which he is not and will never be. 9/11 is his chance to be the Jesus Christ of the journalism world and hates it when he has to share a story with thousands of others. Even his actions during following Hurricane Katrina were pathetic.

Lora, I hope that research you did will shut Exley up once and for all, but he/ she will probably adapt to the new Colbert catchphrase, "Factiness." By the way, does Exley know that Colbert and Stewart are more better at giving the news than Katie, Brian or Charlie? I certainly think so.

    Peace!

  96. Lora Says:

    Happy New Year, JIMBO!
Before I sign off for a while, someone I met at a Democrats Abroad party when in Japan told me that there was some survey taken of young Americans' knowledge of current events. The ones who watched mainly the "Daily Show" had more accurate answers than the ones who watched FAUX News.

  97. Lora Says:

Ps. The information about Olbermann's Edward R. Murrow Award was right there on the wikipedia website provided by Tracy, who apparently doesn't find it prestigious, either.
    Peace!

It's not easy for the wingers to see clowns like o'Reilly, Limbaugh and Rivers losing out in ratings wars to Olbermann, but there it is. Fact versus fiction.

Geraldo Rivera Recants and Apologizes, 1995-DEC-12

Geraldo hosted a program on CNBC with the theme "Wrongly Accused & Convicted of Child Molest." The program was broadcast on the night of the acquittal of Pastor Roby Roberson and Connie Roberson in the Wenatchee WA sex abuse scandal. Guests included Charlotte, "Tookie", and Violet Amirault of the Fells Acres Day School case, Georgetown Law School Professor Paul Rothstein and Loyala Law Professor Stan Goldman. During a discussion involving the legal panel, he stopped and said:

"I want to announce publicly that as a firm believer of the 'Believe The Children' movement of the 1980's, that started with the McMartin trials in CA, but NOW I am convinced that I was terribly wrong... and many innocent people were convicted and went to prison as a result....AND I am equally positive [that the] 'Repressed Memory Therapy Movement' is also a bunch of CRAP..."

Geraldo apparently had a change of heart at some time during the latter half of 1995. He is to be commended for stating his new belief in public. Unfortunately, a one minute apology and recantation is hardly sufficient to reverse the damage done by many hours of sensational programming, grounded on misinformation.

  100. LWM Says:

If Geraldo has not won a Pulitzer by now I would surely think he would be in the running any time soon .

    This is parody, right?

  101. beijair Says:

ever notice that when people feel threatened, they attack? ever notice that a man with a lower education or level of intelligence will resort to physical threats because their mental strength is weak? interesting..isn't it. I have heard O'Really make same kinds of threats. something to think about

  102. mparker Says:

    Who's Geraldo?

  103. jashugan Says:

    Walter E Evans:

May I suggest you go and advertise your half-baked pseudo-fascist horseshit elsewhere. Perhaps you missed it - I know that, like the fratboy failure president you worship, you "don't do nuance" - but people on this site tend to be of a liberal persuasion and have no interest in hearing from you.

Try Free Republic - it's full of the kind of knuckle-dragging closet cases that'll slap their cheeto-stained flippers together in rapturous applause for your blisteringly original and insightful thoughts.

  104. the fly-man Says:

Why doesn't Geraldo just go have a few drinks with Axel Rose?

  105. neoconman Says:

Democrats are itiots so is that loser Ollberman AT least Geraldo isnt afraid to tell it like it is like O'Reilley. Tell Ollberman to go back to talking about Hocky and Wrestling. Leave the jornalism to real men like Geraldo and O'Reilley. Democrats are weak!

  106. Ryan Says:

The funniest part of this story is that Gerry fought against neo-nazis back then, now he's working for them! What a clownshoes. Ha Ha Ha.

  107. circusfifthfloor Says:

Having Geraldo admonish others for anything is akin to having The Three Stooges tell someone to "not be so silly'.

    Comment by neanderthalman

I just love being told what an "itiot"(SIC) I am by someone who makes eight spelling errors--not to mention some grammatical mistakes--in just two sentences!

  109. Theus Says:

Its the funniest thing. By chance, I was on You Tube a few days, a week ago maybe, looking at old vids, and found the aforementioned episode of "Geraldo" with the Neo-Fascist morons. Much, much earlier into the show, this idiot named Metzger (his father was an avowed nazi as well) called Geraldo "Gerry". This made Geraldo so mad,- a grown man, mind you,- that he strides the 30 or so feet over to Metzger and appears to grab about his (Metzger's) shoulder or face area, while issuing the threat, "Don't push me" or something along those lines. My point is, Geraldo Rivera, since at least 1988, has been exibiting this "I'll kick your ass, rather than debate you" bullshit. Geraldo was the first one to get actually physical with those guys at all. Even when Metzger gets attacked, he's not physically threatening ANYONE. Now, mind you, I'm CERTAINLY not endorsing or condoning these nazi idiots, I loathe nazis. But what I LOVE is our Constitution, and it says I'm free to say what I want, but it applies to assholes as well as dignitaries.Geraldo, sad to say, is but a reminder of the slop, poured into the trough, which is lapped up by the hungry little piggies.

  110. smafdy Says:

    Las Vegas Louie:

You poseur. What kind of name is "Las Vegas Louie"? Dude, you've been watching too much gambling on TV. And then you drop the "capiche"! Ha! You freekin' sad little moron.

  111. Hector Garcia Says:

Oh my the Faux liars do not like getting some of their own medicine....It causes them considerable upset...that is their concept of sectarian justice....

And Geraldo, your moustache and rants resemble Hitler's...didn't you notice?....You going nowhere.

    Las Vegas Louie said:

Progressives and Democrats are not interested in facts and the general good however , what interests the losing opposition is personal attacks in light of nothing better to say.

File that under "You must be kidding!"...

Clue: The Losing opposition was the G.O.P. this past November.
Clue: The Radical Right Wing excels in Personal Attacks as demonstrated by your man Jerry Rivers.
    Clue: Two Words; Swift Boaters

  114. DallasNE Says:

I think Nancy Grace would make for a more interesting match for Geraldo.

  115. JTitor Says:

Everyones looking at it all wrong. Olbermann, Colbert, and Stewart are really hurting FOX News, and the Repubican scum that permiates the media is trying anything to get something to stick. All they can do is resort to idiotic attempts at what they think man are?

  116. Exley Says:

Actually Lora, Wikipedia is not quite accurate (as is often the case). Olbermann did not win an Edward R. Murrow Award for reporting. He won an award for commentary writing for ABC Radio in 2001. This is a very large difference between journalism and commentary. You should not rely so much on Wikipedia. It is notoriously unreliable.

  117. SquarePeg Says:

    Neo-CONMAN,

Your funny. Has anyone offered you your own reality-free show yet?
You would make gobs and gobs of money, and be able to serve as a living example of how Hooked on Phonics is not supposed to work.

  118. JaneESchneider Says:

Well, Tracy, inform us of Geraldo’s journalistic credentials. What major stories has he covered? Name a few (or just one for that matter) reports he has done that was a real investigative coup. Geraldo is nothing more than a sensationalist as he has always been. He’s a crappy journalist because he was a crappy lawyer.

    Comment by Mr. Evil — January 8, 2007 @ 8:09 pm

Not to defend anything that Tracy says, but: Geraldo's claim to journalistic fame is his breaking of the Willowbrook (mental institution-New Yorkers should remember this) story back in the, oh, 70s or 80s, I forget. It was a heartbreaking story of patients being kept in absolutely horrendous conditions, and it helped cause many reforms. It was a great investigation, but it seems that Geraldo has not done anything worthy of attention since then. He has since blown any credibility he had gained from Willowbrook.

  126. Anchorage Activist Says:

As much as I disagree with Keith Olbermann's politics, Geraldo Rivera makes Olbermann look like Bob Schieffer. Geraldo is everything a journalist should NOT be.

  127. Frank Says:

Geraldo once described himself as a "Jew from the neck up, and a Puerto Rican from the neck down". Could there be a bigger asshole anywhere in the world than Geraldo? Is he a Jewish asshole or a Puerto Rican asshole? How would Gweraldo explain the difference?

  128. Tommy Hubbs Says:

Geraldo Rivera is silly and irrelevant. A non-entity. Olbermann would be best served to ignore him. I would. Today's Rivera is not worth an iota more of my time after I finish this post.

  129. neoconman Says:

Keep trying just cause I didnt spe.ll something right doesnt make it true. Ollberman is a wimp and unamerican. he hates america at least O'Reilley and Geraldo love america and stand behind our troops. Ollberman hates our troops and hates our country and so do democrats.

  130. Wayne A. Schneider Says:

Ollberman hates our troops and hates our country and so do democrats.

    Comment by neoconman

Just out of curiosity, could you, for the benefit of those who are new here, explain on what facts you base this opinion?

  131. NCBlueneck Says:

"Gerry Rivers" is a putz. He has about as much credibility as, oh, I don't know, um, ...George Bush. I'd love to see him get his nose broken again. What a small, pathetic, little man. I think Keith Olberman has a little more class than to engage this little worm in his hateful fantasies. (But I could be wrong... I'd watch it!)

  132. Lora Says:

Keep trying just cause I didnt spe.ll something right doesnt make it true. Ollberman is a wimp and unamerican. he hates america at least O’Reilley and Geraldo love america and stand behind our troops. Ollberman hates our troops and hates our country and so do democrats
    Comment by neanderthalman

You're right: your misspellings definitely don't make it true. Has Olbermann ever said he hates the USA or our troops? And before you keep on insisting that the Dems hate the troops, I would advise you to look at the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) website for its rankings of how people in the last (109th) Congress voted on various bills affecting veterans--people who served in Iraq and Afghanistan recently. (Google it, because the last three times I tried to post this website, it seemed to have gotten caught in a spam filter and didn't get here.) All the people receiving A's and A-'s were Democrats. Your precious "patriotic" Republicans such as Dennis Hastert, Rick Santorum, Bill Frist, Elizabeth Dole, George Macaca Allen, Jeff Sessions, and even veterans like John Warner and John McCain all received F's or D's. Among other things, the Repugs voted against slightly more $ for research into tramautic brain injuries. In other words, they don't give a fig if American military personnel nearly get their brains blown out. Look it up, Mr. Patriot, before you make any more "itiot" (your spelling) assertions.

  133. Lora Says:

    #129 Exley,
I am quite aware that misinformation gets into wikipedia's pages; I have corrected a few myself. But it was a link presented by Tracy-troll about Olbermann's credentials , and in any case, you yourself have admitted he (Olbermann--not Tracy) won an award for commentary, which refutes your earlier claim that his best achievement was reporting some sports match.

  134. harriett Says:

Poor, poor demented Geraldo, who is so consumed with eny and hatred, he is simply sad. I was embarrased for him. like in the school-yard, when the little snot-nosed brat gets his lights punched out for mouthing off to the big guys, like Keith!

  135. JaneESchneider Says:

Keep trying just cause I didnt spe.ll something right doesnt make it true.
    Comment by neoconman — January 9, 2007 @ 4:27 pm

Exactly. It doesn't make it true.

  136. Earthling Says:

Note to "neoconman": You don't watch Keith Olbermann, do you? If you did, you'd see that Mr. Olbermann is the exact opposite of how you paint him. Thank GOD for Keith Olbermann. He's one of the few reporters telling the truth. Bush and his followers (lemmings) don't care for the truth. The truth gets in the way of your bigotry and hatred. You are a traitor to the United States, and you and your ilk should be dealt with accordingly.

  137. JTitor Says:

All these paid trolls coming into this blog...everyone needs to ignore them. If someone has already posted the article about Geraldo in Iraq then read past. If not this is from Stars and Stripes:

Fox News Channel's Geraldo Rivera was reportedly booted out of Iraq after diagramming on air the intended plans of the U.S. military unit with which he was traveling.

The Rivera situation, however, grew murkier as the day progressed, with two Pentagon officials initially saying he would be asked to leave Iraq and the 101st Airborne Division unit south of Baghdad, but Fox News replying that as far as the cable-news provider knew, Rivera had not been asked to leave.

Ever the blusterer, Rivera came on Fox News Channel live from Iraq to blame "the rats at my former network NBC … spreading some lies about me" and declare his intention to "march into Baghdad" with the unit.

Defense Department spokesman Bryan Whitman had told Reuters that Rivera was being asked to leave because the commander in his area felt the reporter had "compromised operational security," a violation of Pentagon guidelines for reporters traveling with U.S. forces in Iraq.

Whatever happens with Rivera, Monday counts as a bad day for war reporting, experts said, because the public tends to draw its lessons about journalists from its highest-profile practitioners.

  138. Karla Says:

For the record, the MSNBC bio of Keith Olbermann (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3080446/) says:

Olbermann is the recipient of numerous distinguished awards in radio and television broadcasting, including the 1995 Cable Ace Award for Best Sportscaster, 11 Golden Mike Awards for excellence in television and radio, and four Sports Emmy Awards. Olbermann also received an Edward R. Murrow Award for his coverage of the events of 9/11.

So there you have it. FACTS. Olbermann DID win a Murrow Award. Now where is that Peabody Award O'Reilly is always saying he won?

As for Geraldo, he needs to go looking for his lost credibility. I think he left it in Al Capone's vault.

  139. JTitor Says:

Did anyone hear Lou Dobbs? Finally, some New World Order talk from the mainstream press:

CNN/Dobbs: "W" Fulfills His Dad's Dream Of A New World Order

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=XdxI0zClV_Y

  140. JTitor Says:

Why does anyone feel they need to say how great Olbermann is to these obvious bought and paid for trolls that post then leave, and come back the next day with different names. Shit if Olbermann ran for president I would vote for him in a second, and I'm a conservavtive. So fu*k off trolls. The only thing you know how to do is lick the furors boots, and watch my bill of rights get taken away.
