Karl Rove is “as aggressive as ever.”

Insiders suggest “that Rove had a big hand in distancing Bush from the Iraq Study Group because he believed the bipartisan panel was too critical of current Iraq policy. Rove, aides say, believes that victory is still achievable and that Bush should pursue it as vigorously as he can.”

  2. Zooey says:

Of course he is! They tried to make it seem like Rove was neutered and demoted, but that just let him get further behind the scenes where he could wreak more havoc.

  3. DM says:

“Rove also believes,” the insiders added, “that Sunnis and Shiites can be brought together with a combination of enormous amounts of cash, the integration of democratic principes and Christian family values, and an excess of Lionel Richie music.”

  4. Vic says:

No surprise there, no doubt Rove has a big influence getting rid of, firing, the Generals that don’t agree with the planned escalation.

  5. ForTruth says:

We never questioned it for even a moment. It must be all that fresh puppy blood causing this aggression.

karl has ‘the math’ to achieve ‘victory’ in iraq.
just like he had ‘the math’ to achieve ‘victory’ last november.

He apparently has never heard that Loverboy song, “Sunni and Shi’ite DNA Just Won’t Splice!”.

  14. chimpeach says:

Well I guess he didn’t get his ass kicked hard enough in November. Tee him up and launch him into the middle of next week. And just keep doing it until that thick SOB gets the message.

  16. gogreen says:

Bush has been more or less painted as a sociopath in a recent book. Rove doesn’t qualify as a sociopath, because he isn’t charming and personable. He’s just pathologically misanthropic (apologies to the APA if that isn’t an identifiable disorder, but it should be), and after Deadeye Dick, may be the person most responsible for this sorry state of affairs.

  17. Unholy Moses says:

    Translation:

Instead of thinking about the troops, the families left behind, or the people of Iraq, the most important thing is Bush’s ego. “We don’t care about victory or human beings,” said Rove, according to one source. “The important thing is that we never admit that we made a mistake.”

There is a special place in hell for these people …

This is the same man who had “THE math” for the mid-term elections last year, and who ridiculed the reporter who was interviewing him.

I thought only Pres Bush refused to learn from his mistakes, let alone learn from them. Now I see he has surrounded himself with people who share that peculiar personality trait with him.

    Much better…

  29. gogreen says:

    #22

Yeah, but his techniques have worked for him for a long time. He’s loathe to realize that his political tactics aren’t gonna work, because his personality makes it impossible for him to adopt new ones. He’s combative and vicious himself, so his approach to political problems will always be the same. Theonly way to get rid of him is to get rid of Bush. Impeach now!

  33. Zooey says:

Karl Rove cannot allow himself to preceive that he is losing. He doesn’t care if people die in his wake. He must achieve the goal he has set for himself.

KKKarl must be in New York, there is a Manhatten-wide unidentified bad smell…

  35. the fly-man says:

let’s see who Karl picked to replace Harriet Meires. Guesses anyone?
Paul Begala thinks it might be David Addington. I think the man is too much of a recluse, try to find a photo of the dude. Anyway can’t wait to find out. Someone over at the huffpo had a great article on the notion of Harriet’s existence. She was great enough to be a Supreme Court justice but not the President’s lawyer, hmmmmm.must be getting ready for some serious subpoenas.

  36. Jeffrey Stewart says:

Exactly what does that draft-dodging, POS mean by “victory?”

  37. JTitor says:

No. I think Karl is in Austin, Texas where all those birds fell over dead.

  39. Mickey Mouse says:

The US media is totally unreliable. It cannot go against Israel, and it will wrap itself in the flag just as it did for the invasion of Iraq. The American public has been deceived (again) and believes that Iran is on the verge of possessing nuclear armaments to be used to wipe Israel off the map. The fact that Americans are such saps for propaganda makes effective opposition to the neoconservatives’ plan for WWIV practically impossible.

That was Deadeye Dick in Texas, killing all those birds…. he got pissed cause he can’t hit what he’s supposed to be shooting at….. he got some really nasty chemicals from Tom DeLay’s backyard shed…..

  42. Raven says:

Actually, for real, Deadeye has just turned up in Pennsylvania, at a private reserve, to hunt duck and pheasant.
The same “preserve” where a few years ago, he shot over 70 pheasants during his visit……. no wonder he’s so pudgy……

  44. Mary Poplins says:

This is all about oil. There is a piece on Raw Story about the three big oil companies. It is called How the West will make a killing on Iraqi oil riches.

I hope Keith Obermann or Lou Dobbs has something on this story on their program tonight or soon.

The senate and the House should be made aware of this. I plan on writing to both and I suggest everyone write to their Senator and House Rep.

    This is important information.

    mary Poplins sez:

Part of this is most certainly about oil. I remember debating this point with the neocon shills a few years ago. Their big point was ‘if this war is about oil, why aren’t we getting it? Why aren’t we making a dime off of Iraqi oil?’

My response was: ‘They don’t need to get it right away…all they have to do is make sure no one else does. In fact, if they just leave it under the Iraqi sands, it will increase in value, making it all the sweeter when they do finally start exploiting it. That oil has been sitting under the sand for millions of years…it can wait a few more.’

Looks like that time has arrived. The oil companies will swoop in to rape Iraq of its resources. the Iraqis, understandably, will resist, providing a ready-made excuse for the U.S. troops to stay put, to ‘protect international interests’.

And round and round we go. We probably won’t see the illegal U.S. occupation of Iraq end for decades.

  47. Madison Guy says:

Our captain and his enablers like Rove are totally deranged. All they can think about is the strawberries. We have to find a way to wrestle back the helm. What do you call a mutiny when it takes place on a storm-tossed ship of state? I think it starts wiht “i.”

  48. Upside00 says:

Per usual, there are no trolls out protecting Pudge Boy. Maybe even they find his shit getting weak.

  49. Raven says:

    Precisely, Trip…..

It may not have turned out as smooth and esy as the corporate/military hoped, but at least the country of Iraq, and the region, have been destabilized enough for them to split the country up into manageable portions.

It will be easier now for the private mercenary armies (politely called “security contractors” within the Green Zone) to
protect and control the oil fields and facilities.

  50. Mark says:

#45 they are making money off of Iraq, Huge amounts of Money. Take a look at oil prices and note how they rise as instability in the region has risen. The big oil companies do not have to pump one drop of Iraqi oil to jack their profits up, all they need is for instability on the region to continue so they can charge premium prices for their end products.

  51. USA says:

I think Rove is the head insane person running the show now that Rummy is gone. It’s worrysome to think one infantile/psychopathic is running the “show”.

NEWS FLASH: Hot off the Press -
Bush Admits Affair With Lola A.K.A. Mark Foley; Jealous Rove Threatens To Become Another Washington “Deep Throat”

The Republican Party known for its tribade salaciousness and back door buggery took another severe hit today after the president came out of the closet and admitted to an affair with former Florida congressman, Mark Foley. “I just couldn’t keep living a lie,” he told reporters. “I wanted to come clean with the American people.”

This confession by the president comes in the wake of a previous admission several weeks ago to being a “Vagina Warrior” and has critics confused about who the president really is?

The affair ignited after several hours of conversation at a well known, Washington gay establishment, The Playbill Café and both men admitting to feelings of attraction to the other. It was also reported that Foley may have used his deputy whip in the House of Representatives and promised the president unlimited access to his directory of pages and gay Florida nude beaches, to influence Boy Bush.

The affair, lasting for a little more than three months, apparently ended after Karl Rove became jealous and threatened to spill the seeds, “oh, I mean beans, Freudian slip” and be another Washington “Deep Throat” telling all about the affair.

  53. Raven says:

dis affair could be termed a
    “de-foley-ated bush”

    Good one! Worth repeating.

  56. Jason M. Hendler says:

Now that Dems can’t have it both ways, saying one thing, and allowing another thing to happen, Karl Rove will have a field day on them – this is Hill’reh’s worst nightmare – premature electionation of the Dems to the House and Senate are going to make her party a massive Pinata that Karl can keep wacking …

  57. Whitey HermAphrodite says:

The horrid little hobbit man drove his wh0re of a mother to suicide, and now he wants to inflict his misery on the world.

Rove knows as much about war as Mother Teresa knows about giving blowj0bs, or as Rick knows about having a civil political disagreement.

  58. Whitey HermAphrodite says:

Ah Walter Evans, another pompous pr1ck who loves the smell of his own farts. He reminds me of that jerkoff on here awhile back who was intent on dazzling us with his logic and feeling undeservedly arrogant simply because he had more degrees than a rectal thermometer.

Walter, you guys hate edumacation centers because they make people THINK and QUESTION, two things your idealogy has no use for?

    Iraqi children ? F#CK EM!

    Poor children ? F#CK EM!

White Embryos destined for the garbage? They must be protected from mutilation before they are discarded AT ALL COSTS!

Brain dead white women? They must be protected from their husbands health care decisions AT ALL COSTS!!! Sanctity of marriage is only sactitutious if we agree with the sanctifictory manner in which its sanctified.

Yes, theres a reason why you guys are so threatened by institutions of higher learning.. its because you don’t want people to think to deeply about things….you want to keep words like “hipocracy” and “irony” out of Joe Public’s vocabulary at all costs.
