”You know that the mission accomplished banner was put up by members of the USS Abraham Lincoln …”

Yes, because the members of the USS Abraham always set sail with large-format printers on board. I'm sure their 1st Captain of Bad Graphic Design whipped up that banner as they were pulling in to port.

Mighty Aphrodite, you all lying in your nightie
Waiting for your lovers, the liars' asses that you cover
Examples you twist and turn, as if the Truth to burn
But the Devil is a Liar and Father of it
And you, MA, His place as Chief Liar do covet

Um, instead of trying to fit a goofball's example of Bush predictions re: Irag (which are nothing like the reality he prognosticated), how about we focus on the numerous lies in that same speech:

"The liberation of Iraq is a crucial advance in the campaign against terror. We've removed an ally of al Qaeda, and cut off a source of terrorist funding. "

"With new tactics and precision weapons, we can achieve military objectives without directing violence against civilians. No device of man can remove the tragedy from war; yet it is a great moral advance when the guilty have far more to fear from war than the innocent." (Applause.)

"We've begun the search for hidden chemical and biological weapons and already know of hundreds of sites that will be investigated."

"No terrorist network will gain weapons of mass destruction from the Iraqi regime, because the regime is no more."

"We're helping to rebuild Iraq, where the dictator built palaces for himself, instead of hospitals and schools." [The only major consistent construction we're doing is our own new Vatican-sized Embassy and other military bases]

"In the battle of Afghanistan, we destroyed the Taliban, many terrorists, and the camps where they trained. We continue to help the Afghan people lay roads, restore hospitals, and educate all of their children."

"Our government has taken unprecedented measures to defend the homeland. "

"Because of you, our nation is more secure. Because of you...Iraq is free."

"Other nations in history have fought in foreign lands and remained to occupy and exploit. Americans, following a battle, want nothing more than to return home."

"We will stand with the new leaders of Iraq as they establish a government of, by, and for the Iraqi people." [We've pushed three leaders out, so far, and triggered the insurgency by silencing the voice/press of the Iraqi people]

And this triple-play grand-slam lie: "The United States upholds these principles of security and freedom in many ways -- with all the tools of diplomacy, law enforcement, intelligence, and finance. We're working with a broad coalition of nations that understand the threat and our shared responsibility to meet it. And the use of force has been -- and remains -- our last resort."

[...] McCain’s claim that the war “was easy” fails to acknowledge that there never was an end to “major combat operations” as President Bush once proclaimed. Contrary to McCain’s suggestion that “the military operation” was easy, difficult military operations have continued to this day. Despite McCain’s efforts to defend his faulty pre-war prognostications, the truth is he simply failed to realize the difficulty of the mission in Iraq prior to the war. [...]

MA, the transcript doesn’t say what Bush said. It says what Snow says Bush said.
Sheesh, this freak keeps coming back like a zombie from Night of the Living Dead.

[...] 20,000 more to be sent to Iraq It only took Bush 20 minutes to outline the third round of combat in Iraq (the same battle he said was over, and Tony Snow said Bush did not say) with 20,000+ more troops to be deployed over the next few months, but isn’t that what should have been done in the first place? Instead of sending the troops that were needed to win in the first place the Rumsfeld Doctrine was used and has proven a failure. Bush also stated that this war would not have the victory celebrations that “ our grandfathers and fathers enjoyed“, but since todays world is nowhere near what it once was, why should there be? Both Dick Durban and future President hopeful Barack Obama immediately said they will not support the troop increase, though Obama did say that more attention needs to be paid to Afghanistan and would rather some of the 20,000 troops get sent there.
The sad part is, is this is what the Bush administration wants. It wants us to fight amongst each other over trivial "who said what" BS. As long as we fight each other, We The People, will never organize and gain back the strength the government has been taking from us for years. Its very simple. Give up on the argument between who's right about what Bush said. Its obvious, the government is waging a "War on America" and its time we as Americans stand up and fight BOTH political parties. The Democrats and Republicans. This is our country, our land, our government. The government is here to serve us, not for us to serve them. If we don't like whats going on in Iraq, we as citizens can change that. If we don't like whats going on with "big businesses" and their hand in the government. WE as CITIZENS can change that. This is why our forefathers put the 2nd Amendment in the constitution. Its time to rise up and take back our country. If we can do it peacefully, so be it. I'd rather thats how it went down. But I doubt our governmental counterparts will give up their power so easily, and it may have to be done with force. So instead of arguing about silly things, maybe we should put together a demonstration of a porportionate size. Something along the lines of the Million Man March.
Rise up Americans and take back America. Only in doing this can we salvage our world image as a beacon of freedom and tolerance.

Whereas the Iraq Liberation Act (Public Law 105-338) expressed the sense of Congress that it should be the policy of the United States to support efforts to remove from power the current Iraqi regime and promote the emergence of a democratic government to replace that regime”

Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq — October 2002

Comment by Exley — January 9, 2007 @ 5:57 pm

Rumsfeld took care of that one, dude.

“On his [Rummy's] watch, the United States military helped the Iraqi people establish a constitutional democracy in the heart of the Middle East, a watershed event in the story of freedom,” Bush said.

They've got a democracy, now it's up to them to take over the security of their country. Bush said we'd leave if the Iraqis asked us to. Two members of the new government asked. Bush ignored them. He lied. Bush wants to stay indefinitely. He said the next president will deal with Iraq. Another 2 years, minimum.

They’ve got a democracy, now it’s up to them to take over the security of their country. Bush said we’d leave if the Iraqis asked us to. Two members of the new government asked. Bush ignored them. He lied. Bush wants to stay indefinitely. He said the next president will deal with Iraq. Another 2 years, minimum.

It doesn't matter what the American Public thinks. They're not in control of their own country. Americans just have to keep their mouths shut and go along for the ride - just as the citizens of Nazi Germany did from 1933-1945. It will take outside forces to liberate us Americans from Bush and Co.

Tony, Tony, Tony... you should really think about adding -Job to your last name and then simply change the Snow to Blow, and there you have your new vocation. You are simply amazing and very good at lying, double-talk and smear; all the finer qualities that your contemporaries admire and treasure.
