Conrad Burns cashes in.

“Former Sen. Conrad Burns (R-MT), whose ties to lobbyists helped sink his re-election bid, has landed at a new workplace: a Washington lobbying firm,” the AP reports. “Burns will work for his former chief of staff, Leo Giacometto, at the firm Gage, which has lobbied for Montana interests and several national technology companies, often making headlines for its connections to Burns and his staff.” Both Burns and Giacometto are under FBI investigation for earmark improprieties.

  3. klyde says:

  4. Zimzone says:

Testor may have lost some fingers, but
    Burns has lost his mind.

Let’s hope the FBI hooks Conrad up with Jackoff.
    Soon.

typical corrupt criminal. oh but they show him of course
next to the american flag… a flawless sacred holy christian
who was granted gods will to be a public servant of the
    people

enough to make me…….. GET RID OF ALL THESE CRIMINALS
REPRESENTING CORRUPTION AS THE AMERICAN WAY

and get some real public servants that will serve the
people in a honest and ethical nature.

we can start by impeaching Bush also :)

    there is two posts up……

so montana also passed a law while boooootin coooked burns azzzzzz out that says NO congressman can cash in on any lobbying for 2 years.

    sooorrrry

  8. Wayne A. Schneider says:

So Burns lost his Senate seat in part because of his ties to lobbyists, but he decided to go work for a lobbying firm known for its ties to people like Burns (which is what cost him his job in the first place). Who are they going to corrupt now that you and your chief of staff work for them, Burnsie?

Does he still expect people to think he hasn’t lost his mind?

  9. dlet says:

What amazs me is there are people that work at Gage. Guess there is a price to any conscience.

  10. jimbo says:

post #7 shows a criminal who lost his senate seat, then admits
to his crime through his revolving door ties, why isn’t this
criminal among the 1000’s of others ousted for life to have
anything to do with the public servant sector… the lobbyist
firm should be blacklisted and banned while burns should never
ever have anything to do with laws, trusted servants —
sounds like a leech to me
and of course he’s represented by the american flag — now i
understand exactly what the revolving door and corruption is

  11. the fly-man says:

    Isn’t “earmark improprieties” an oxymoron?

  12. Tom says:

Folks, I wouldn’t worry much about this. As far as I can tell, Mr Burns doesn’t stay awake very often. If he is awake, you can simply unplug him and he will go back to sleep.

This kind of recycling is bad for the environment.

Good – the Federal Marshals will know where to find all of them when it’s time for the perp-walk.

  16. RUCerious says:

So let’s see, are they going to pay him to be critical of heroic firefighters???

  17. oldtree says:

smart guys lobbyists, hire a guy that goes to jail real soon. they must be looking for recognition from the criminals in DC. sort of a watering hole with the lions at bay?
whaddya bet he has no severance policy, on week to week pay
and a ton of other disclaimers?

  18. bs says:

    #10

montana folks wanted a ban period but that wasn’t brought to the table and constitutionally, i believe, was going to tred a delicate line. and the simple fact that he hasn’t been charged with anything criminally.

plain and simple the government can do what it wants, when, where, how and why without anyone governing them with the door wide open.

  19. jimbo says:

this kind of snake oil politics is enough to make me …..
the very people entrusted with why we pay for service
instead to the private sector with their ties to totally
corrupted entrusted policy makers, no wonder everything
the government does is a mess, just take new orleans, or fda or
epa or it seems all the wonderful government services that we
so despertely need and guess what……. CORRUPTION

burns has been corrupted for years and goes through the revolving door

democratic congress…. right it won’t be any different

now can we please talk about serving the people in a reciprocal quality
manner… oh i forgot that got corrupted too
