No kidding, I'm not the biggest fan of Chris but apparently he has an outlet for the testosterone pulsing through his veins- unlike Cheney who has to be driven to the prey so he can lift up his gun and kill it. Pitiful, wish they would start a GOP arm wrestling event- maybe we could stop destroying the world? hmmm..

Couldn't agree with Randy more. When his old buddy (Matthews refers to him as such) Tom DeLay comes on the show, you could almost see Mathews going to his knees. Disgusting! When Howard Dean comes on the show, C.M. hardly lets him get a word in between insults to the Democratic party. Panders to whoever is in power. - Thats OK. Maybe we'll see some well deseved bowing to the Dems now.

Chris Matthews is a political whore and bends over for whoever holds the edge of the power-dildo. I remember in the not-so-distant past that Chris was so polite and so easy on his right-wing-nut friends who stopped by to visit his "fair and unbiased" show. Now, he acts so different. I don't forget how it was just a short year ago, though.

Matthews is not the big shit on the block, he's the dogshit on the walk.

He was always a gung-ho supporter of the invasion.

Doesn't anyone recall his homo-erotic gushing and surging over Bush's codpiece and "manly bearing" in that flightsuit? It was positively pornographic, and utterly disgusting.

Is this what US society has come to: you can just change your blather at any moment and abjure all responsibility for everything that you've said and done previously?

That country is doomed. It is a decadent watermelon republic.

The rest of us out here in the world hate you, and for good reason.

#95 shocker

Tim Walz. I watched almost the entire Hardball but missed the last ten minutes. I suppose that's when they had Tim on. He's a good guy. They've already given him a chance to give the Dems' response to Bush's weekly radio address. He's going to do really well in Congress.

Although I am thrilled to see the veneer coming off of the MSM, it doesn’t improve my opinion of any of them one bit.

One possible by-product may be, hopefully, them not allowing the same lies and rhetoric to get us into Iran. Maybe they will finally do their damned jobs.

Well, I saw some of Hardball (beechball) last night.

Mr. Matthews had republican Duncan Hunter and democrat Tim Waltz? on.
It was painfully clear, by that interview, that Mr. Matthews is not interested in being unbiased.
Rep. Hunter had a ton of air time compared to rep. Tim Waltz. Hunter used the age old political ploy of talking and talking to use up air time.
Tim Waltz was passionate and effective. He was taking Hunter to the woodshed. Hunter was given much more air time to make his points. Waltz was not allowed to respond a second time to Hunter. Matthews, conveniently, went to a comercial break.

It is disturbing that Think Progress is backing up Chris Matthews in this way. TP did it once last week as well. Makes me wonder.

For the most part, Mr. Matthews talks out of both sides of his mouth. Tries to come across as moderate. He seems to take every position at one time or another, just to cover his ass. That's what politicians try to do.

I hate to say this, but at least Joe Scarborough is consistent. I know he is a conservative republican. He does not try to hide it. He is also, solidly, against the troop escalation. While I don't agree with almost anything he says, I do feel like I know where he stands.

People like Chris Matthews are more dangerous. They try not to be pinned down to one position on controversial issues. Sorry, but there is word for people who do not stand up for anything.
For people who do not stand up for their country.

One of the few men in the current and former US Congress having consistently been against the war and always opposing its funding, is running for presidency. If you listen to what he has to say, you know where the 38 cents on every tax dollar US citizens pay COULD go to ... and guess what, none would go to the war. Want a fresh approach on Iraq, and not more of the same, as Bush is proposing? Do you love North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania? Or do you love only one or a few of those six? It does not matter: peace is inclusive, as it serves the needs of all, whilst war is exclusive, because it serves the needs of a few.

Give us guns – and troops can go, says Iraqi leader

America’s refusal to give Baghdad’s security forces sufficient guns and equipment has cost a great number of lives, the Iraqi Prime Minister said yesterday.

Nouri al-Maliki said the insurgency had been bloodier and prolonged because Washington had refused to part with equipment. If it released the necessary arms, US forces could “dramatically” cut their numbers in three to six months, he told The Times.

NO WONDER NO WONDER NO WONDER - Give them weapons and go home

I think this is indicative of what has happened to the media over the last 20 years or so. He let his true feelings slip out in a moment of frustration and anger. It goes to prove that these guys aren't neo-cons in the media, but instead they are scared shitless over pissing off the administration. It's disgusting. He would never have let a bombshell like that slip if he didn't have some pretty strong feelings about the war being bad. Too bad he let it slip 5 years too late.

Although I am thrilled to see the veneer coming off of the MSM, it doesn't improve my opinion of any of them one bit. They had their chance when it could have made a real difference. It was their responsibility to give us the real information and truth in 2002-2003, they didn't-Tweety included. They blew it, and although I'm grateful that they are beginning to get on the right side of this conflict, they are all still a day late and a dollar short. One possible by-product may be, hopefully, them not allowing the same lies and rhetoric to get us into Iran. Maybe they will finally do their damned jobs.

Tweety is trying to save his job he'll say anything now. Chris got his career by attacking Dems and Bill Clinton. Chris did just as he was paid to do by Bush he lied/spinned/blamed the Dems for everything. He attacked Michael Moore for telling the truth. Now that Chris will be on the witness stand in the Libby Case he acts like he was against the GOP all along. I hope the NBC Executives are listening to the lies Chris is telling. Fitz will bust him in court and his job will be up for grabs. Bad mouthing Rummy wont do it this time. Chris is to deep in the corruption of his friends the GOP to back out now. Now he sounds more like Tony Snow the born again liar.

Zooey,

Damn straight! I've copied 7 thread violations in a very short time. I know I haven't got them all from each thread, but I think it's representative.

Gotta go, now.
Sandman is clobbering me here...

There was a skit on SnL about Andy and Berry Gibb having a talk show. Jimmy Fallon was Berry and Justin Timberlake was Andy. It was actually pretty funny. So was the "dick in a box" skit. I know, the Right hates that liberal swine, nazi, perverted show.
