As TPMmuckraker notes, the Bush administration “has refused to release any part of the order issued yesterday by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court authorizing NSA surveillance within the United States, saying doing so would risk exposing operational details.” But in a letter to Sens. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) and Arlen Specter (R-PA), the presiding judge notes that she has “no objection” to the material being made available to Congress; it is the Attorney General who refuses to share it.
it is the Attorney General who refuses to share it.

BTW, anyone here marching on Washington Jan. 27th?
We REALLY need to start protesting LOUDLY AND MASSIVELY IN THE STREETS.
January 18th, 2007 at 4:51 pmImpeacho Gonzales.

January 18th, 2007 at 4:53 pmIn my understanding, the Attorney General of the United States is charged with being the top Law Enforcement Officer of the United States.
..i.e., a prosecutor who might go after organised crime, corporate fraud, oil companies who won’t pay royalties for drilling offshore and on public lands, etc….
The current AG is nothing more than a crooked cabal’s personal defense attorney…
January 18th, 2007 at 4:56 pmGonzales was put into the AG position to protect Pres. Bush, not to uphold any laws nor to defend the Constitution.
January 18th, 2007 at 5:08 pmIf Rumy was expendable then so is Gonzo. There will only be Laura, GW and Cheney. (Barney would be a hunting accident)
January 18th, 2007 at 5:17 pm(Barney would be a hunting accident)
GDumbya is a hunting accident. He was conceived when Babsy was raped by a howler monkey while on safari in Africa. Here’s the proof –> http://thumbsnap.com/v/6YvXAPG0.jpg

January 18th, 2007 at 5:24 pmWas Condi conceived on a subsequent visit to the “bush”?
January 18th, 2007 at 5:30 pmToday Gonzo said in front of the Senate Judiciary Commitee, “The Constitution does not say that every citizen has the right to habeas corpus.”
omfg!!!!
January 18th, 2007 at 5:54 pmThis asshat has to go.
Condoleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezza wasn’t born . . . she was hatched just like all the good, incompetent little chickenhawks.
January 18th, 2007 at 5:55 pmWell, Little Alberto also said the other day that judges shouldn’t be reviewing cases involving national security because they don’t know anything about it.
In his case, he shouldn’t be the Attorney General because he apparently doesn’t know anything about the Constitution.
I think Dick the Prick likes to keep him around, though, because he routinely stops by his “undisclosed location” and entertains him –> http://thumbsnap.com/v/pMPqjqXK.jpg
January 18th, 2007 at 5:58 pmIMPEACH ALL OF THESE FRAUDS AND UNPATRIOTIC BUFFOONS!
Sure, Gonzalez doesn’t want the names of those spied upon to be released because it will become another “watergate” where political opponents were wiretapped to the advantage of the Republican party. Let the FISA reports roll and, when they do, the truth will be out – that this wiretapping had little to do with concern about terrorists (otherwise, why didn’t they listen to the threats before 9/11????) but has absolutely EVERYTHING to do with spying on innocent americans who posit against the excesses of this administration as well as their political foes.
Wow! This is going to really blow up in Bush’s face! Let the “outings” begin and then let’s get to what really needs to be done….full and unequivocal impeachment of Gonzales, Rice, Cheney and Bush. They have never epitomized the american moral character and, now that they’re running for cover, epitomize it less and less with each passing day.
Soon they’ll be too embarrassed to even come to work!
January 18th, 2007 at 6:04 pmP.S. Where did Alberto “DoLittle” Gonzalez get his law degree?? Mail order per chance? He has to be the most ill-informed (when it suits him of course), ignorant, illiterate attorney in this country. It’s a cinch why Bushco would snap him up as Attorney General….surrounding himself with “yes men”, bigots, and people who “owe him” political favors….never anything to do with qualifications…..never.
January 18th, 2007 at 6:05 pmEvidently, Alberto DoLittle never had the required course in CONSTITUTIONAL LAW in whatever second-rate law school he attended….or perhaps like his bud, Dubya, he was AWOL for most of his education.
January 18th, 2007 at 6:07 pmOnce Gonzo gets the heave, then Cheney will purjure himself in Scoot’s case…and will be down the chute as well….which leaves CondiCandi who has become Little Laura’s nemesis and will be shoved aside so soon Bush’s prophesy will be brought to fruition: Only Laura and Barney will be by his side. All the rest have jumped or are jumping the rapidly sinking USS Titanic.
January 18th, 2007 at 6:09 pmI’m not positive, but I don’t think the AG is subject to impeachment.
January 18th, 2007 at 6:09 pmHis boss is, but he’s appointed, so the way to out his ass is thru the Dick and W show.

Any government appointee whether elected or appointed can be impeached by congress. Historically more federal judges have been impeached than any other office holder and every one of them were appointed.
January 18th, 2007 at 6:23 pmThanks for the info wayne!
January 18th, 2007 at 6:32 pmSo, yeah, let’s start with the AG, then the SOS, then the VP, then the POTUS. Howza bout Scalia/Scalito/Roberts too?
Well I’ll be damned.
January 18th, 2007 at 6:38 pmResearch is fun.
Daughtery, Harry M. (Attorney General, 1922-23) — Result: Tabled
impeachment charges filed for “Alleged favoritism toward J.P. Morgan banking house, failure to prosecute A.B. Fall in Teapot Dome case, failure to prosecute railroads, and other charges “
Alberto Gonzales needs to be disbarred…
…forthwith…
…as the nation’s chief law enforcement officer…
…this al Crackkker wannabe has spent his tenure as AG…
…violating and circumventing the chief law of the land…
…everything Bushiva and L’il Dick touch turns to sh*t…
…everyone associated with them loses his/her soul…
January 18th, 2007 at 6:45 pm#23,
January 18th, 2007 at 6:49 pmThe ONLY reason AG was hired as AG was to protect the violators and circumventors of the law.
And I thought John Ashcroft was an ass — little did I know that little AG was the understudy.
He has to be the most ill-informed (when it suits him of course), ignorant, illiterate attorney in this country.

…and since your dumbass thinks it’s science fiction that a website, hosted on a network can read IP’s, you’ll be horrified to know that not only does the machines which hosts EVERY F*CKING website on the planet know your IP, (your IP identifies which part of the country you are locally using to reach the internet – read GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION), they keep track and records of all “hits” on this site, complete with enough information to locate anyone of us if the FBI wanted to.
How the hell else do you think they keep catching all those sex offenders.

CNN’s Blitzer: Democratic leaders in the new congress have plenty of bones to pick with the bush administration.
Kelli Arena: Democrats pounced on several of the administration’s anti-terror policies including domestic wiretapping, the detention of terror suspects in guantanamo bay.
The way Blitzer and Arena framed the exchange between Leahy and Gonzalez is downright twisted. Both Blitzer and Arena made it sound as if Leahy was out to pick a fight in a bar instead of getting to the truth of the unconstitutional systems the Bush administration has created.

Is this sentence even supposed to be in English? I recognize some of the words as being from my own native language, but they are used so strangely and incorrectly, that I have no idea what the poster is trying to say here. One thing IS clear: this poster is no “great debater”.
January 19th, 2007 at 8:15 amRUCerious,
Wayne is right.
Gonzalez, like all cabinet officers, is impeachable and removable from office. And considering the horrendous and unconstitutional legal advice that he has given Bush, I think it’s fair to say that he violated his oath of office. The idea that the president should be allowed to have whoever he wants in his cabinet has been proven null and void by this president’s appointments. Virtually to a person, evey single person he has appointed to some government job has been working to subvert the clear meaning and plain intent of the constitution, especially Alberto “VO5″ Gonzalez (and his predecessor, John Ashcrofthole.)
