Rhetorical flourishes set to solve Mideast strife.
“Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice made a deal with Arab leaders this week: Washington will show an interest in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the Arabs will say they support the new U.S. strategy for Iraq,” Reuters reports. “But the actions on both sides of the deal are largely cosmetic or rhetorical, because the parties are either unable or unwilling to deliver, Arab analysts and diplomats say.”

In other words, S.O.P. for Condi.

If you are on my ” no fly list ” any attempt to communicate with me will be wasted keystrokes on your part.
The reasons for those who are included in my list are as follows.
The short list: Reasons Why
1) You are not up to speed with my intellect and political ability.
2) You 9 times out of 10 add zero to the debate.
3) When faced with bare facts you cannot defend, you resort to slanderous accusations.
4) Your lack of viewing the ” Big Picture ” in politics is astounding to me and the public majority.
5) I question your ability and motives at this thinktank and in life in general.
6) You speak out of turn when I am in a heated debate with a particular poster.
7) You come to the aid and comfort of the defenseless here with even more preposterous, nonfactual claims.
8) When things do not quite go your way in a debate, you scream bloody murder for Judd and cry ” foul ”
9) You defend policies the Democrats believe in because it is in ” vogue ” and is ” fashionable ” knowing full well it is not what is in your heart.
10) You will twist facts, slander other posters with opposing ideas and ideals and generally engage in some form of ” group lynching ” if all does not go well for you.

It is long past the point that the people, if not the politicians, begin to examine the legality of this ill-conceived adeventure in Iraq. Last Monday, a military judge at Fort Lewis, Wa. all but doomed Lt. Watada’s chances at his court martial, and his hopes of receiving a fair trial, which will be coming up in February, when he ruled that the lieutenant’s defense team is not allowed to present evidence regarding the legality of the war. As a counterpoint to the military’s decision, a Citizens Hearing on the Legality of U.S. Actions in Iraq will be held this Friday and Saturday, Jan. 20 & 21 at Tacoma, Wa.
Half of the Panel members are military veterans, as well as a government leader, religious leader, labor union member and health care worker. It will resemble that of a congressional hearing. Panelists will focus on the legality of war, whether the invasion of Iraq constituted a “crime against peace”, whether the military occupation of Iraq constituted a “crime against humanity” and whether individual soldiers have an obligation or duty to refuse unlawful orders that may lead to “war crimes.” Among those on the Panel who will be testifying are:
Daniel Ellsberg- who leaked the Pentagon Papers
Richard Falk- Professor Emeritus of International Law at Princeton
Benjamin G. Davis- Associate Professor at Law, Univ. of Toledo and expert on the law of war
Harvey Tharp- Former U.S. Navy Lt. and JAG stationed in Iraq
Francis Boyle via video- Professor of International Law at the Univ. of Illinois
Ann Wright- Retired Army Colonel and State Dept. Official
Darrell Anderson & Geoffrey Millard- Members of IVAW [Iraq Veterans Against the War]
It remains to be seen if the mainstream media, as well as the so-called liberal blogs, will see fit to cover this important event which hopes to shed light upon the legalities of the war/occupation in Iraq.

Gregor Samsa has added the TM superscript, which I think is very cool. But poor Gregor got turned down when he asked to be added to The List (TM), even after I nominated him! So it isn’t easy to make the The List (TM), and I think that Zooey and Sharon and Gregor will just have to try harder. And get this! First, there are no rules.
Gregor explained to me how to do it. Immediately following the word “List”, type a space, then put “TM” into parentheses.

Is their anything more that can be done by you and your posters to make me more comfortable in my stay here at TP?
They seem to be full of vitriol and hatred for one another and this fervor is at a fever pitch and well, to be honest, some of them are just down right rude and nasty here at TP. I think they know whom they are.
I dont feel like I am getting my moneys worth as a taxpaying United States citizen.
I hope you will look into this slight at your earliest convenience.
I paid for this and I am not getting my moneys worth.
I demand compensation for your lack of goodwill toward your fellow man.
I will accept payment in the form of cooperation and a general feeling of goodwill from your regular posters.
I expect these demands to be met and to resume immediately.
If this is not recieved, other forms of compensation will be sought and recieved.
Somehow until then I will manage to muddle through, but this blogging hobby is starting to become a burden and well you know, I just think you could try harder to make me more comfortable here since after all,it is my hard earned tax dollars funding this site. I just dont feel you are doing enough to make my stay here amiable and pleasurable like your ad stated on the box. Truth in advertising is the law.
I will forgive this mishap this time, but in the future please look into and perhaps sponsor starter academic programs for a select few posters here, perhaps offer simple courses like:
