The next president will likely be a Dem??? Followed by the names Clinton and Obama??

I predict right here and now that neither of those people will become president in 2008, if ever. What both of them has done is declare early to force the hands of other would-be Democratic saviors who will go forth and campaign thereby depleting their war chests (unless, as in the case of a dinosaur like Dodd, they are bankrolled by major league corporate and financial interests) leaving the field open for people like Clinton and Obama who will lead a losing Democratic effort at the polls.

Get over it, people. Neither of these people has anyone's interests except his/her own at heart. By deflecting attention that should be directed at getting our troops home and by failing to definitively declare that this war is now and has always been illegal and conceived in lies, neither of them is advancing a legitimate agenda that deserves our support.

Jettison Clinton already. The only reason she's here in New York is to look after Entergy's interests at Indian Point nuclear power plant and to stroke her massive ego. I'd vote for Limbaugh before I'd vote for Clinton and I've never, ever voted for a Republican in my life.

Despite his recent compelling observations, Hagels criticism of the Bushco Iraq fiasco is primarily all talk. When it comes time to vote he throws in with all the other Republican rubber-stamp clowns. He's been a major enabler of his partys attempt to undermine the rule of law. His most recent "conversion to sanity" is simply an attempt to avoid the political consequence of his actions. Don't let the sheep suit fool you.

Curious how this gal just disappeared off the face of the map, while the media managed to keep all of Clinton's flings front and center. Dick should not get a pass. I want to know where she is, and why we don't see her anymore.

Cheney continues to label all who oppose his and his fellow neoconartist's lies and deceit as "undermining the troops" and running a war by "committee". Darth Cheney knows nothing about war since he has never fought in one. He demonstrates his chicken hawk bona fides as usual. Let the people who know a thing or two about war decide what goes on there. Many in Congress know a hell of alot more about the battle field than Cheney and they can speak out without ever being labeled as undermining our troops, when in truth it is Cheney and his band of liars who are. Has Dick EVER been right about the Iraq war? In truth, no. Therefore it would behoove him to close his mouth and let the grown ups run the show.

Hagel added: “What are we about? We’re Article 1 of the Constitution. We are co-equal branch of government. Are we not to participate? Are we not to say anything? Are we not to register our sense of where we’re going in this country on foreign policy?”

****************************

I can only hope that Hagel was asking these questions rhetorically -- because unless he's been under a rock or stranded on a deserted island for the past couple of years, the answer to those questions should be blindingly obvious by now. Congress a co-equal branch of government? Surely he jests -- what else does he think all those signing statements are about? Collectively, they say "the rules which apply to everyone else don't apply to me." Didn't Hagel watch the interview with Bush on "60 Minutes", for crying out loud? That pretty much said it all -- and it came straight from the horse's mouth, yet. The only thing that Bush and Cheney think Congress should say is "How high?" when they say "Jump."

#80 Independent Hater,
Obviously you have never considered the fact that the companies that produce the voting machines like Diebold are run by men who are openly GOP supporters. Have the CEOs of any of those companies ever made a public statement supportive of Dems equivalent to this one from the CEO of Diebold: "I will do my best to deliver the Ohio vote to George W. Bush"? I'm not necessarily even saying that the GOP stole some elections; what I am saying, however, is that it wouldn't have been very easy for the Dems to do so under such circumstances. 馬鹿！

Dems must win this election by a landslide, we already saw what happened in Ohio!

I love how Dems/Libbies/Lefties continue to spew conspiracy theory bullshit regarding "stealing elections", et al, ad infinitum, but never play fair and mention that little fact that the Dems now control the House and Senate. Hmmm, maybe they stoooooole Congress! Oh my god! Alert the press! Release the hounds!

Idiots... The Left is just a bunch of g.d. idiots.

Oh and another thing. The ideology is simple, removing regulations provides chaos and leads the way for thievery (i.e., Silverado S&L, etc). Republicans, no matter what their rhetoric is will create chaos because of their basic principle of deregulation or the new buzz word, Privatization. Bush, a republican was looking for where the money was, to open it up for the taking...Iraqs oil and the largest pool of money we have...Social Security. Privatization and deregulation creates a huge problem. Hagel and Mccain are fine people but the fact that they believe deregulation works makes them a liability for the U.S. (they will cost us money in my book).

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. For those who said Bush was dumb, he's not looking so dumb right now by putting the U.S. in the predicament of sending out the troops and making the democrats cut the funding so he can later say that the democrats cut the funding for the troop or worst yet, nothing gets done and the troops are sent to their deaths, then he will say the Democrats had no solutions. He has the Dems where he wants them and the country as well with this disastrous war. But his reign will end and let us not make this mistake again...vote Democratic. This nonsense of voting for an independent (no matter how wonderful he is) only insures that the wrong people get elected. It is time to regain our freedoms under the Constitution, keep this nation solvent, and value our lives... Vote Democrat.PS. Giuliani is their ticket to continue the ravaging and its not suprising that Polls show him ahead. Make no mistake, Dems must win this election by a landslide, we already saw what happened in Ohio!

When will people get back to reality and realize that we are in an illegal OCCUPATION in the middle of a civil war! And you CANNOT win an occupation nor a civil war where we are (supposedly) not on any side.

I am a Vietnam combat vet and this is just War College 101 stuff. But then Dubya was too busy going AWOL from his NG unit and Cheney was too busy getting his deferments to have time for such trivia.
