My only complaint is that the point was not made that even if the “accusations” of his being raised Muslim were true, so what? The people who use such dispicable tactics were raised a**holes, which is worse than being raised simply atheist, Muslim, Christian, Jew, or any other religious affiliation. I’ll take a kind, honest, caring Muslim over a mean, corrupt, egocentric Christian any day of the week for a neighbor, friend, or political leader.

It’s a great start, but Sen Obama now must publicly demand a retraction of the story from Fox and Insight.
As Greg Sargent says, call them out by name and make the story about them lying.
The American people will never believe Democrats will defend them, until Democrats start defending themselves.

So far, at least, he has proved to be smart, witty, personable, quick thinking, kind, hardworking, spiritual, and without a lot of political baggage. Yet he is also showing he can be a tough, fearless, honorable and forceful leader with good ideas and well-developed plans. A man of courage and integrity who damned-well won’t put up with a lot of bullying. Throw in a nice, well-educated and personable wife who tries to avoid the limelight and what do you have?
Someone who is a definate threat to the Republican Party and scares the hell out of the likes of the Murdock media empire and the Faux News Network.

Hopefully, Mr. Obama has just shown the rest of the field how they should respond. If every Democratic candidate struck back, HARD, every single time perhaps that machine will self-destruct or at least have less impact. Even better would be for every Democratic candidate to be willing to strike back for every other Democratic candidate when needed.

I think an apology from Fox would be useless in the sense that those with a sense of morality that recognizes the symbolism of an apology would not believe the apology was sincere. The Fox sympathizers and sycophants would look at it as a ploy to again fool the ignorant Left. The best thing would be to call them on every misstatement, sue the crap out of Murdock and let them go on their merry way. The only ones that will pay any attention are DUHbya’s 28%ers, and if they are reading that stuff they aren’t bothering anybody else. The fight for the Presidency for the next two years will be on two levels and will be very rewarding. The Repuglicans can do nothing but attack the Dems. Unfortunately for the Repugs there are too many Dems to paint with one brush with any basis in fact at all except that they are Dems. That brush, however, is not to the advantage of the Repugs. The Repugs are forced into that old dilemma of shoveling shit against the tide, and the tide has done won. The next level will be the Dems campaigning against one another. No candidate can afford a negative attack on any one or two of his/her opponents. Again there isn’t one brush that will cover all opponents and the negativism is very likely to splash around the brushees and get the brushers. I think we will see a bunch of “I will do good” and very little “he/she did bad.” The Repugs will give Yours Truly plenty of opportunity for sarcastic comments. The Dems will give all of us time to reflect on our position and choose those individuals that we personally think will be the best for this Country and the INDIVIDUAL Citizen as opposed to Corporate interests. It will be as it should be!

this reminds me of something i heard when OBAMA came to my town last summer for a town hall meeting… after a very short introducion he took questions from the packed audience… the best one came early, from the local jr.high social studies teacher, brought huge cheers from the crowd and made a special mention in “new york magazine”:

I have no doubt that their license does not call for having a voice of one party only. It can be proven easily with Fox…just listen to them one full day…and you have the answer. Of course the GOP Congress never questioned them before..Why should they? FOX has been their voice.
