“Vice President Dick Cheney’s spokeswoman testified Thursday she told I. Lewis ‘Scooter’ Libby that a prominent war critic’s wife was a CIA employee earlier than Libby has said he first learned it from a reporter,” the AP reports. “On the third day of Libby’s trial, Cathie Martin became the first member of Cheney’s inner circle to contradict statements by Libby that led to the charges he lied to the FBI and a grand jury investigating who leaked the wife’s identity to reporters in 2003.”
Sad, the only tree Fitz can bark up is the Scooter tree. The real criminals are in the “smelling like roses” category.
January 25th, 2007 at 6:31 pmSee. Even today he still can’t remember.
I say if the glove doesn’t fit…you must acquit.

I just heard on NBC that Ari is up next and he made a “deal” in exchange for prosecution. Interesting.
January 25th, 2007 at 6:33 pmIf he’s a friend of Dick, you must convict.

January 25th, 2007 at 6:35 pmShe was likely face all sorts of attacks from two sources: (1) short and dishonest smears from the National Review crowd; and (2) the usual Tom Maguire post that is so long and disjointed, you just lose track of what he was babbling about. Speaking of which – defense attorney Wells is reminding me of Tom Maguire! Has the jury fallen asleep on him yet?
January 25th, 2007 at 6:59 pmChristy Smith of FireDogLake has a must read called the “Oncoming Train” of how defense attorney Wells has so ticked off the judge that much of his memory defense strategy may go up in flames. The defense sounds desparate to confuse matters – which may lead to rulings from this judge that will give Fitzgerald even more scope to have a real trial. Pass the popcorn and let’s sit back and enjoy. And if Ari’s up next – the fireworks will come fast!
January 25th, 2007 at 7:09 pmCathie Martin Public Affairs Director had more access to national security classified information then Libby who was only a low level employee. That’s what the Defense wants the jurors to believe. Libby had memory lost about everything he did in the developing intelligence Iraq strategy and writing the speech by Powell to the United Nation not to mention he was the Presidential adviser and adviser to Cheney. But don’t worry Libby does remember that Tom Cruise visited him and of course his son’s birthday. Those two things were more important than the lost of life of 3000 plus soldiers caught in the Iraq civil war. Now if Libby can fool the jurors and they give him a get out of jail card. Libby can go back to his old job at the White House so Libby can give more false information to invade Iran. At lease Bush and Cheney can blame Libby for everything that went wrong.
January 25th, 2007 at 7:19 pmNotice Rummy gave up the title to Gates but not the job of running the invasion. When the Saudi King told Cheney to stay the course that’s what is being done. The White House could care less about the troops dying it’s all about the war profiteering and making sure Judges, Attorneys and GOP are put in to control the United States. No more two party system the plan is to have one party being Republican and have the Supreme Court controlled by the White House.
A question for those of you with television: How much coverage is this trial getting in the MSM?
January 25th, 2007 at 7:24 pmI’ve seen it mentioned on CNN, but the correspondent was Kelly Arena. She did her best to imply that the prosecution wasn’t going well. She’s the same correspondent who said during the 2004 election that “terrorists were rooting for kerry.”

January 25th, 2007 at 7:28 pmBus meet Lewis, Lewis, this is Mr Bus.
January 25th, 2007 at 7:40 pmSo did Cathie Martin have the clearance and okay to tell Libby about this. If not then she was breaking the law wasn’t she. Does anyone know if her testimony hinges on a plea deal or did she not break law with her involvement?

Yeah rachel/angie has certain patterns in her text ( when it doesn’t cut and paste racist junk) and its usually easy to tell who it is.

Currently rachel is on the thread below, listing all our deficiencies.
January 25th, 2007 at 8:00 pmI thought, you thought, she was a he?
January 25th, 2007 at 8:03 pmI love how this woman said that Libby and Cheney were obsessed with the Wilsons, while Libby told Fitz that he didn’t remember much about it because he barely thought about it…
I think this trial will nail the true criminals.
January 25th, 2007 at 8:07 pmI’ll go try to find the lil’ Scooters famous written missive to Judy Miller about them incestuous aspens…….
January 25th, 2007 at 8:09 pmScooter Libby, in his letter to Judith Miller, encouraging her to testify before the grand jury:
“….. the aspens will already be turning. They turn in clusters, because their roots connect them………”
In truth, aspen groves are essentially a single plant. Each individual trunk is a clone.

That’s a weird thing to write in a letter — unless you live in Victorian times.
January 25th, 2007 at 8:45 pmThat’s actually quite tame compared to some of the other weirdnesses Scooter Libby is the author of…

January 26th, 2007 at 12:50 amFitzgerald has investigated the CIA Leak case with the White House covering up the truth. No attorney can solve a case or bring indictments when everyone is lying and not telling the truth. As for that tree and Fitz don’t worry he said this was a cover up case and now we see it is. Cheney was a student of Nixon who used the plan of criminal acts and cover ups. Cheney up dated the Nixon play book to take control of the government, Judges and the Department of Justice. Cheney got the plan going further then Nixon did. It’s sad because we allowed our troops to invade Iraq based on lies by the President and now we’re will to send more troops to be sitting ducks in the Iraq civil war. Fitzgerald has allow this case to open the door on future criminal cases. Waxman and Pelosi are going to take the information given in this case to use as some of the witnesses will be indicted on criminal acts noted in testimony from this case. Fitzgerald is smart if you get can’t get the truth get the weakist link and work your way up to the big fish. As you see now the rats are turning on the rats.
Fitzgerald is smarter then you think that’s why he’s on Gonzo’s list to be fired. If any attorney who brings charges against any White House staffer or GOP even Foley that Attorney is fired. Notice all the Attorneys that Gonzo fired had cases they got guilty convictions such as Abramoff, Duke, Ney and Skillings. Fitzgerald has more surprises to come in this case and look for more inside information and criminal acts done by the White House.
its always funny to see the threads the trolls won’t touch because even minds as deeply as deluded as thiers can’t rationalize some things…..
January 26th, 2007 at 8:00 amWell, of course- What more might we expect from Cheney’s lap hound? This Vice-President person is totally predictable and transparent. There is something about him that makes me feel like I need to take a shower. If I met him in a gay bar and he came onto me, I’d first laugh in his face and then throw-up, all over his rumpled suit. I might not ever have sex, again! Yuk!
