“Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will pay $33 million in back wages to thousands of employees after turning itself in to the Labor Department for paying too little in overtime, according to an agreement announced Thursday by the U.S. Labor Department.” Wal-Mart Watch has details.
Mall-Wart – your source for cheap plastic crap.

That’s funny!
Walmart is evil, and will never see a dollar from me, for sure.
January 25th, 2007 at 6:01 pmOne time I was in Wal Mart waiting for someone to get out of the damn bathroom, and I glanced over to some paperwork an employee left sitting out. It was filled with rhetoric about making money, and more of it. Getting money from the customer, etc. It was sick.
January 25th, 2007 at 6:22 pmI love those cheap plastic storage bins. I don’t put anything in them, I just love to have them around, in case I can’t get to the bathroom on time.
January 25th, 2007 at 6:23 pmSam Walton’s children and the executives at Mall-Wart are evil and greedy and worthless to this country!!!
They all eat their children!!! Vampires!!!
I think we should hunt down and eat the gawd-damned rich a$$wipes in this country!!!
Yum, Yum, taste like fancy chicken!!!
January 25th, 2007 at 7:46 pmI have successfully kicked the Mal – Wart habit.
January 25th, 2007 at 8:33 pmOne of the obvious devious deployments at the end of the checkout line is that revolving bagging station.
I have left, and I have witnessed others, leaving the store without some of their items.
The checkout person would only put two or three items into each of many plastic bags. Without looking carefully at the entire carousel, and checking all the bag racks, it was easy to leave one behind.
After catching on to this, I began to watch the checkers, and noticed they made no effort to check the rack themselves to make sure a customer had all their goods.
I even began to notice checkers being relieved at their stations, and retrieving a colection of merchandise, usually in a cardboard box, from under their station as they left………..
And the Republicans don’t want to raise minimum wage. Losers.
January 25th, 2007 at 8:39 pmWal-Mart sucks…I hope that it goes under.
January 25th, 2007 at 9:19 pmWell shit!
There goes my ” temporary price decline ” incentive for shopping there. I guess them little oriental buggerswill have to work lots of saturdays and sundays to pay for this backpay that those crybabies just had to have.
Guess what happens now.
The cost of this lawsuit will be recouped 10 fold by WalMart in that they will put the demand harder on foreign third world labor to produce more for less and then sell it back into the US in bulk, saturating the market. It is hard to avoid a product if it is in your face 24 hrs/ 7 days week.
