Clinton to Bush: clean up your mess before you leave
BEIJING, Jan. 29 (Xinhuanet) — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton addressed a town hall-style audience of about 300 activists Sunday in Davenport, Iowa, and told President Bush he should withdraw all U.S. troops from Iraq before leaving office.
Clinton asserted it would be “the height of irresponsibility” to pass the war along to the next commander in chief.
“This was his decision to go to war with an ill-conceived plan and an incompetently executed strategy,” the Democratic senator from New York said her in initial presidential campaign swing through Iowa.
“We expect him to extricate our country from this before he leaves office” in January 2009, the former first lady said.
The White House condemned Clinton’s comments as a partisan attack that undermines U.S. soldiers.
Hill’reh’s demand that ALL domestic and international problems be solved prior to her coming into office tells me that she is not yet willing / capable to be Command In Chief of these United States.
Did Bush demand that Clinton “take care of” Al Quieda before he took office? No, Bush had to clean it up after they struck us on 9/11, so Hill’reh should be happy that the job is mostly finished, and she only has a little policing to do here and there.

Three words there for ya, hacker bob:
Kenneth. Starr. Report.
’nuff said
He DID tell Dubya, Darth and Sec of Shoes Rice months before 9/11 but they were too busy in their CircleJerk trying to figger out how to start the war in Iraq. That was on their brain before the sockpuppet was ever sworn in!
hacker bob, Why has GWB passed on capturing OBL since 9/11? Blame Clinton for whatever your feeble mind can create. The world knows it was OBL and the world knows that GWB has not captured him. What were Gw’s words on that? Oh yeah, “I don’t think about him (meaning OBL) much”
Hill’reh has “known” she will be president for years. Hoyer is in position, with Schumer already trying to reform the whole Dem Party, all so she can ascend to her “rightful” place.
If you want to know why congress is NOT stopping Bush, it is all for Hill’reh and her run for Prez.
Geez Bobbo, just when I was starting to think you weren’t such a gullible fool.
Reminds me of the party girl whose airhead friends told her she should “entertain” all the boys in her class, you know, to be “popular”. So she does em all, but nobody calls her to ask her out for a real date!. But she keeps listening to the BS her “friends” keep feeding her, and keeps on givin it away to all comers. She just can’t figure out why she doesn’t get any real dates, you know, like to movies and shit.
Bob, you swallow so much of the reich wing fantasy crap, it’s amazing you aren’t obese yet.
Just sayin’ – you got your wish, you have a Democratic majority in the congress, go piss and moan to them. Coward Dems do want Bush to leave Iraq, so they won’t ever look like the ones who forced it.

Here, take your pick of response from me:
1. You’ve got your buddy in the White House, go piss in his wind.
2. Just stop sayin’.
3. Coward Bush does not want the American people to know the truth about Iraq, so they won’t ever know that he fudged it.
4. I’ve already contacted my Senators about getting aggressive about getting out of Iraq. One, Voinovich, has already expressed doubts about the “surge strategy” which is farse. The other, Brown, is already on record in opposition to the occupation.
5. Go get a job or two. Join some clubs. Go bowling. Maybe you’ll meet someone who likes listening to you.
I think it was not assured that the USS Cole was attacked by Al Qaeda until January 2000, so the intel was passed to Bush&Co, so they could take control. . .Which they promptly trashed.
Think Progress has become something of a drop-in centre for trolls desperately in need of negative attention as Jason, et al, could attest to were they to have a moment of self-honesty. They keep coming back not to debate, not to argue, but to feel better about themselves by trying to make others feel bad. Hanging around this site is as good as their lives get; here at least they can receive some measure of confirmation of existence that is evidently lacking in their realspace. Michael, for example was here last night for over five hours. That speaks volumes about the emptiness that must dwell inside that poor wretch. Face it folks, we’re all they have.
I believe the attack on the WTC very early in Clinton’s term was not blamed on Poppy Bush. The Clinton admin. found the perpetrators, tried and imprisoned them.
If you want to know why congress is NOT stopping Bush, it is all for Hill’reh and her run for Prez. Comment by Jason M. Hendler
More of Urban Heat’s projections of Republican tactics onto Democrats.
It is McCain who has stopped criticizing Bush and bends over in any direction so he can remain in position for his assumed ascension to the throne.
Bush trashed anything that Clinton supported or started – from keeping close tabs on Al Queda to keeping close tabs on our budget surplus.
Bush seems to have a need to best any “father” figure, which Clinton as his predecessor was as much as real President father Bush I. The PNAC cabal used this need to make Bush into their puppet. They either succeeded with their plans or Bush went down in flames and they could walk away.
Lets see, we had 4 attacks on the US by AQ under the Clinton administration. I will agree that the Cole was not fully attributed to AQ until Jan 2001. What about the other 3? Clinton knew who was behind them and did next to nothing. He had opportunities to capture bin Laden and didn’t.
I did not say Bush is not guilty of failing to act. But Clinton is also responsable for his inaction. If you can not see that, you are blind.
RUCerious, funny line. Really. But where is the fantasy in what I say?
No, I am here to teach the children that Dem leaders lie to their sheep, and that the Dems NEVER intended to pull out of this war. Just want to burn this lesson in with a little salt in the wound.

Okay, I’ll help ya again. Two words:
Impeachment. Hearings.
Does this help?
And since you’re so gung ho about blaming Clinton for 9/11, maybe we should blame the Republican Congress, who was so fired up about our president receiving a hummer, that nothing else mattered. Do you really think they would have orchestrated impeachment hearings had they known that Bin Laden would later kill thousands of US citizens, on American soil?
And one more thing, do you not blame the current administration, who spent countless months discrediting the previous administration instead of paying attention to the all important bulletin Bin Laden determined to strike US with hijacked commuter jets?
Remember the now debunked “W” removed from all keyboards in the White House, as well as “pornagraphic” materials on computer hard drives? Guess what…never happened! Yeah, spend all that time “spinning” about Clinton, when they should have been preventing an attack.
Blamin’ Clinton is a juvenile cop out, plain and simple
Does anyone else notice that when Jason Misogynist Hendler posts, he absolutely makes no sense?
Case in point: I am here to teach the children that Dem leaders lie to their sheep, and that the Dems NEVER intended to pull out of this war.
WTF????
Dude, give me your address. I’m about ready to send you $50 so you can go downtown and release all the built up frustration you’ve been storing for decades.
All Dem and Rep leaders lie and lie constantly; such is the nature of the political beast and thus hardly qualifies as a revelation, does it Jason? They are both guilty.

I disagree. I believe the attacks on 9/11 are to be blamed on Bin Laden and his cronies. I blame Dubya for not acting upon said memo from my previous post. I also blame Dubya for not capturing Bin Laden (perpetrator of 9/11) when he had the capability of doing so.
By your logic, do you blame the current Iraqi occupation upon the failure of Bush I to not attack Baghdad and Sadaam during the Gulf War?
By blaming Clinton for 9/11, you must blame Bush I for our current mess in the Middle East
Most important is to keep firmly in the liberal netrooters mind, that the Dems USED them for their votes, and will carry on doing the right thing anyway.

And your distorting of an opponent’s words means you are not ready, willing, or capable of honest debate.
In all the news I have read, Sen Clinton specifically refers to the occupation of Iraq. If that is what you call “ALL domestic and international problems”, it means you yet have to learn to walk and chew gum at the same time. Either offer a link to back up what you are saying or be labeled a charlatan.
The rest of your babble is no better: So, 9/11, Afghanistan, and Iraq are now Clinton’s fault? And Pres Bush had nothing to do with the decision to invade Iraq, and Afghanistan -right? He was not in charge, and/or was unable to make his own decisions.
What claptrap. Pres Bush will not take responsibility for his mistakes and his followers (that’s you) are busy thinking up excuses for him. Maybe that’s what you do for yourself too?
Same old dodge. I needn’t be a trooper to support the troops and/or the mission. Most important is to keep firmly in the liberal netrooters mind, that the Dems USED them for their votes, and will carry on doing the right thing anyway.

2 points here: Yea, you don’t need to be a trooper but it sure helps when you aren’t an AWOL NG wank who was afraid to go to Vietnam. That’s where Hagel, Webb and Warner carry more weithg than anyone in the CHickenhawk WH today. (And notice how many of them are Repugs!)
and 2nd, it was Bush and Cheney and the NeoCons who ARE using them right now to die and bleed for their cause, which has NOTHING to do with any ‘war on terror’.
If she is not willing / capable of dealing with Iraq, then why would she ever step up to be Commander in Chief? You can’t pick and choose the cards you are dealt.
This just screams out about her distorted view that people are just going to accommodate her every wish, simply because she insists – the world doesn’t work like that.
JMH, I don’t believe you’d be wanted in the military so don’t worry about defending your point of view. Dems used who for votes?
And by the way, your more cranky and wrong than usual. So you believe this conflict (not a war JMH) is worthy. Many here and the majority of this country don’t. Facts have been presented to support the rationale for not being in this conflict to begin with (WMD’s, Al Qiada connections and the other debunked reasons). Facts have also been given to justify removal of our troops (insufficient planning, lack of financial and military support, sub contractor blunders, the Iraqis own beliefs, etc, etc,). You choose to ignore them.
When you ignore the facts but come in here with some quixotic idea of showing us the light, you come off as, well, an asshol* and a whole ass. So continue to show us the light and we’ll continue to show you the facts and laugh at you
I’d rather be played to by Dems who at least do some things for America (even if they don’t do all of what we’d like) then be played by repugs who will only ruin America for profit.
People before Profit Jason: Not profit before people.
How many attacks did we, the US, suffer from AQ under the Clinton Administration?
What did Clinton do to capture bin Laden?
Yes, Bush is responsible for everything from Inauguration day until Sept 11.
Clinton is responsible from the first WTC bombing until Inauguration day of Bush. In my opinion.
And it has nothing to do with political party, or BJs or interns. It has to do with the failure to protect Americans. And we were failed by BOTH presidents.
hacker bob, do you put a % of blame on Clinton and Bush. How about what has transpired since. I will not defend Clinton but I will not absolve Bush.

You were the one who claimed Sen Clinton wanted “ALL domestic and international problems” solved before she took office. That is what I am calling you on.
But in typical Hendler way, you ignore that and move the goal posts.
You can’t pick and choose the cards you are dealt.
Right – just like you go to war with the army you have, not the one you wish you had.
Lest we forget: This was a war of choice. Any whining about “losing the war” is nonsensical because there is nothing to lose in Iraq in the first place. Pres Bush chose to start his invasion, he can choose to end the occupation.
back at you, hacker bob: How many attacks did we, the US, suffer from AQ under the Clinton Administration?
How many attacks has the US military suffered in Iraq from AQ and it’s cronies under the Bush Administration? What did Clinton do to capture bin Laden?
What has Bush done to capture bin Laden?
Clinton is responsible from the first WTC bombing until Inauguration day of Bush. In my opinion.
Actually, by your logic, Bush I is to blame for the first WTC bombing. And by the by, the perpetrators of that? Caught, prosecuted, sentenced!
It has to do with the failure to protect Americans. And we were failed by BOTH presidents.
Yeah, Clinton just protected us on his watch, but failed to protect us on Dubya’s watch. got ya.
Meanwhile, Dubya failed to protect us on his current watch, and continues to fail. And don’t forget, Dubya declared this a global war on terror after 9/11. How many attacks since then, globally?
Madrid ring a bell? London? Phillipines? Or how about the bombings every. single. day in Iraq?
Yes, Bush certainly has failed on his self decried global war on terror
What did Clinton do to capture bin Laden?
What has Bush done to capture bin Laden?
Boots on the ground in Afghanistan is a good start. Jsut because he hasn’t been cought yet does not mean that our people are not trying. What about the 13 times (according to the former head of the OBL task force) that he was actually in the “sights” of US operatives and the Clinton Administration called off the mission?
Actually, by your logic, Bush I is to blame for the first WTC bombing.
How so? Did BushI have knowledge of an impending attack and fail to take action?
Yeah, Clinton just protected us on his watch, but failed to protect us on Dubya’s watch. got ya.
Tanzania, Kenya, USS Cole. Great protection.
If you want to sit there and excuse Clintons (in)actions, or blame it on Impeachment hearings, go ahead. I will at least be honest enough to admit where Bush failed.

Then I will accept that you agree the Iraq mess has NOTHING to do with any war on terror, other than to hamper our efforts in Afghanistan due to lack of troops, wasting our military strength, create more terrorists and destroy the world opinion of the US, right?
Bob, according to the record, the CIA confirmed to Clinton that bin laden was behind the Cole bombing only about 3 months before Clinton left office. So, as president, Clinton knew for three months and Bush knew for 9 months before 9-11.
Hacker Bob, let me also add that even though the first WTC bombing happened just 30 days into his administration, nobody in the Clinton administration every blamed the bombing on George H.W. Bush.
slacker slob, Boots on the ground in Afghanistan? Do you realize that a large portion of the “surge” troops are coming from Afghanistan. So after we know who attacked us on 9/11 and wanted him dead or alive we are now taking troops away from that cause to quell violence in Iraq. Clinton had nothing to do with this Iraq mess. And your buddies Dick n’ Bush are going away from getting OBL and moving toward CTA (covering their asses)
Bush continues to fail. That is the problem now. You want to complain about the past like your team didn’t win the world series then fine. We here in the present are addressing the missdeeds and outright failures of this president.
Hey Jason, are you over there in Iraq now fighting in this God forsaken mess? Have you heard what Lt. Gen. Oden had to say about the way this war has been miscarried?
Instead of calling Dems cowards and denigrating Vets who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in this most poorly of executed wars, why don’t you elist and help Bushie in his surge. I heard they’re lightening up on the background checks so any “youthful” indisgressions (or indisgressions involving youth) may be overlooked.
WaltTheMan, don’t be too hard on my boy. He doesn’t get out much, being all nerdy with ‘the aspbergers’. The poor thing ordered a mail order bride from China, and I had to tell him that she hadn’t died, but just ran out of air! He’s not the smartest tool in the shed, or the biggest if you know what I mean. The poor boy would run off and marry daryll, if he wasn’t such a racist and self loathing homophobe!
Do you realize that a large portion of the “surge†troops are coming from Afghanistan.
Link please. I have seen differently , at least on the USMC side of the house.
And I never said Clinton had anything to do with Iraq. I have agreed to the failures of the current administration. Is it so hard for you to accept the failure of the previous one?
Bob, which branch of government would you say did the most to fight terrorism during the 90’s – the Republican congress or the Clinton Executive branch? You keep saying Clinton failed. What about congress? Did the republicans fail as well?
Officials later acknowledged, however, “that the evidence that prompted President Clinton to order the missile strike on the Shifa plant was not as solid as first portrayed. Indeed, officials later said that there was no proof that the plant had been manufacturing or storing nerve gas, as initially suspected by the Americans, or had been linked to Osama bin Laden, who was a resident of Khartoum in the 1980s.”[2]. Unfortunately the factory was Sudan’s primary source of pharmaceuticals, covering the majority of the Sudanese market.
So, Clinton bombed a soverign nation on false information. Sound familiar.
Oh, come on, Bob. Clinton agonized over the fact that an innocent night janitor was going to get blown up. Bush couldn’t wait to start burning people up and you know it. How many women and children did he incinerate during his shock and awe? It’s frickin ridiculous to even begin to compare the two. Bush is a sociopath; an insecure bully who refuses to admit mistakes and sleeps well despite being responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands. Clinton had a problem with women.
I always think it’s kind of strange the way some people think Clinton’s lie about a sexual affair is somehow equivalent or even worse than Bush’s lies. That’s very strange, Bob.
It’s incredible that to justify the srew ups of this White House the apologists have to keep bringing up a guy that has not been president for over six years.
Bush is a complete failure. I’m sure that you guys can also blame Clinton for that.

#21 Hacker Bob -
He DID tell Dubya, Darth and Sec of Shoes Rice months before 9/11 but they were too busy in their CircleJerk trying to figger out how to start the war in Iraq. That was on their brain before the sockpuppet was ever sworn in!
What a bunch of leaders you Repugs are!
January 29th, 2007 at 2:57 pmhacker bob, Why has GWB passed on capturing OBL since 9/11? Blame Clinton for whatever your feeble mind can create. The world knows it was OBL and the world knows that GWB has not captured him. What were Gw’s words on that? Oh yeah, “I don’t think about him (meaning OBL) much”
Bush=something to hide in. tsk, tsk, tsk.
January 29th, 2007 at 2:57 pm#13, for truth,
Hill’reh has “known” she will be president for years. Hoyer is in position, with Schumer already trying to reform the whole Dem Party, all so she can ascend to her “rightful” place.
If you want to know why congress is NOT stopping Bush, it is all for Hill’reh and her run for Prez.
January 29th, 2007 at 2:58 pmGeez Bobbo, just when I was starting to think you weren’t such a gullible fool.

January 29th, 2007 at 3:00 pmJust sayin’ – you got your wish, you have a Democratic majority in the congress, go piss and moan to them. Coward Dems do want Bush to leave Iraq, so they won’t ever look like the ones who forced it.

January 29th, 2007 at 3:01 pm1.

January 29th, 2007 at 3:03 pmThink Progress has become something of a drop-in centre for trolls desperately in need of negative attention as Jason, et al, could attest to were they to have a moment of self-honesty.
January 29th, 2007 at 3:03 pmI believe the attack on the WTC very early in Clinton’s term was not blamed on Poppy Bush. The Clinton admin. found the perpetrators, tried and imprisoned them.

I think all the calories are already removed — it’s just pure no-fat sh*t.
January 29th, 2007 at 3:08 pmBush trashed anything that Clinton supported or started – from keeping close tabs on Al Queda to keeping close tabs on our budget surplus.
Bush seems to have a need to best any “father” figure, which Clinton as his predecessor was as much as real President father Bush I. The PNAC cabal used this need to make Bush into their puppet. They either succeeded with their plans or Bush went down in flames and they could walk away.
January 29th, 2007 at 3:13 pmLets see, we had 4 attacks on the US by AQ under the Clinton administration.

January 29th, 2007 at 3:31 pmRemember the now debunked “W” removed from all keyboards in the White House, as well as “pornagraphic” materials on computer hard drives? Guess what…never happened! Yeah, spend all that time “spinning” about Clinton, when they should have been preventing an attack.
Blamin’ Clinton is a juvenile cop out, plain and simple
Does anyone else notice that when Jason Misogynist Hendler posts, he absolutely makes no sense?
January 29th, 2007 at 3:35 pmCase in point:

Dude, give me your address. I’m about ready to send you $50 so you can go downtown and release all the built up frustration you’ve been storing for decades.
All Dem and Rep leaders lie and lie constantly; such is the nature of the political beast and thus hardly qualifies as a revelation, does it Jason? Granted, there will be some here who can’t or won’t admit such dishonesty, but as I previously noted that just isn’t why you are really here; you are here not to inform, but to deform. By your logic, do you blame the current Iraqi occupation upon the failure of Bush I to not attack Baghdad and Sadaam during the Gulf War?
By blaming Clinton for 9/11, you must blame Bush I for our current mess in the Middle East

Maybe that’s what you do for yourself too?

and 2nd, it was Bush and Cheney and the NeoCons who ARE using them right now to die and bleed for their cause, which has NOTHING to do with any ‘war on terror’.
January 29th, 2007 at 4:21 pm#53, Gregor,
If she is not willing / capable of dealing with Iraq, then why would she ever step up to be Commander in Chief? You can’t pick and choose the cards you are dealt.
This just screams out about her distorted view that people are just going to accommodate her every wish, simply because she insists – the world doesn’t work like that.
January 29th, 2007 at 4:22 pmJMH, I don’t believe you’d be wanted in the military so don’t worry about defending your point of view.

Here are the simple questions:
How many attacks did we, the US, suffer from AQ under the Clinton Administration?
What did Clinton do to capture bin Laden?
Yes, Bush is responsible for everything from Inauguration day until Sept 11.
Clinton is responsible from the first WTC bombing until Inauguration day of Bush. In my opinion.
And it has nothing to do with political party, or BJs or interns. It has to do with the failure to protect Americans. And we were failed by BOTH presidents.

January 29th, 2007 at 4:35 pmback at you, hacker bob:
How many attacks did we, the US, suffer from AQ under the Clinton Administration?
How many attacks has the US military suffered in Iraq from AQ and it’s cronies under the Bush Administration?
What did Clinton do to capture bin Laden?
What has Bush done to capture bin Laden?
Clinton is responsible from the first WTC bombing until Inauguration day of Bush. In my opinion.
Actually, by your logic, Bush I is to blame for the first WTC bombing. And by the by, the perpetrators of that? Caught, prosecuted, sentenced!
It has to do with the failure to protect Americans. And we were failed by BOTH presidents.
January 29th, 2007 at 4:47 pmYeah, Clinton just protected us on his watch, but failed to protect us on Dubya’s watch.

January 29th, 2007 at 5:10 pmHacker Bob: “Clinton is responsible from the first WTC bombing until Inauguration day of Bush. In my opinion.”
Good point. Clinton’s Justice Department captured, tried, convicted and imprisoned all those responsible for the first WTC bombing.
January 29th, 2007 at 5:12 pmBob, according to the record, the CIA confirmed to Clinton that bin laden was behind the Cole bombing only about 3 months before Clinton left office. So, as president, Clinton knew for three months and Bush knew for 9 months before 9-11.
January 29th, 2007 at 5:14 pmHacker Bob, let me also add that even though the first WTC bombing happened just 30 days into his administration, nobody in the Clinton administration every blamed the bombing on George H.W. Bush.
January 29th, 2007 at 5:16 pmHacker Bob: “What did Clinton do to capture bin Laden?”
He authorized the CIA and Special Forces to kill him. He attempted to kill him by firing cruise missles at a terrorist training camp in Afganistan.
What did Bush do to capture bin Laden? He had 9 months before 9-11.
January 29th, 2007 at 5:18 pmslacker slob, Boots on the ground in Afghanistan? Do you realize that a large portion of the “surge” troops are coming from Afghanistan. So after we know who attacked us on 9/11 and wanted him dead or alive we are now taking troops away from that cause to quell violence in Iraq. Clinton had nothing to do with this Iraq mess. And your buddies Dick n’ Bush are going away from getting OBL and moving toward CTA (covering their asses)
Bush continues to fail. That is the problem now. You want to complain about the past like your team didn’t win the world series then fine. We here in the present are addressing the missdeeds and outright failures of this president.
January 29th, 2007 at 5:21 pmHey Jason, are you over there in Iraq now fighting in this God forsaken mess? Have you heard what Lt. Gen. Oden had to say about the way this war has been miscarried?
Instead of calling Dems cowards and denigrating Vets who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in this most poorly of executed wars, why don’t you elist and help Bushie in his surge. I heard they’re lightening up on the background checks so any “youthful” indisgressions (or indisgressions involving youth) may be overlooked.
