Today’s Armed Services Comm hearing with Gen. Casey is on C-SPAN right night. He’s slick with his answers. Surprised? He is in large part responsible for the disaster in Iraq, and he will be rewarded with a new top position.

The only good thing about these hearings is watching the GOP Bush lapdogs blame Casey for everything that has gone wrong. Sen. Lindsay Graham’s new mantra is “last chance” and “last best hope for victory.” Watch Mitch McConnell and other GOP Senators beat this phrase to death in the upcoming Senate debate on Iraq.

Now we find out that Bush lied again. Double the number of troops in the “surge” and double / triple / quadruple or whatever the projected costs for the “surge.” With no promise of success. Deeper into the pit we go.

Bechtel has pulled out, projects and schools will not be finished, the factories will not open, the electricity still doesn’t work, and yet they are gonna throw more money, and troops, at the problem.
