We have no total success in Afghanstan,the Taliban are cmoing back and growing in numbers, we have no success in Iraq after 4 years of fighting in Iraqi cities streets ; hundreds of billions spent on both wars…what makes us think we will win by starting a third war with Iran..the strongest,the most populated and the largest in size.

We look like a gambler on the table who keeps losing,and decided finally
to put everything he got in his pocket on the table hoping that he will recover some of his losses,but losing it all strtegically is a big possiblity.

One likely consequence of a US attack on Iran not mentioned is the quick withdrawal of NATO and other coalition forces from both Afghanistan and Iraq and the collapse of any international support for the US outside of Israel. Probably the only discussion still in play in the WH is whether to go nuclear or conventional.

HELP and WARNING to all

Off topic, but as I have a great deal of respect of the intelligence on this board, I am asking for answers. Yesterday, I received a letter from Bank of America stating they will be raising my credit card interest rate to 22% March 1st unless they get a latter from me disputing this by March 1st and there after if I used the card I would be charged 22%. My payment history with all creditors is excellent – I use bill pay electronically so no one can claim they did not receive payment therefore have an excuse to raise interest rates. B of A’s reasoning is over the balance which is only 1/3 of allowed credit line. I closed my account, but what scares me the most about this whole deal – what it I had not received the letter or tossed it away as junk therefore found out in March my interest rate was 22% and it was too late to dispute. I have another card at 2.9 fixed balance transfer… is this credit card company also going to try a sneak hike in interest rate. I plan to close all cards – can these companies raise the interest rate over closing an account?
I plan to write to my congressperson and get this story out to warn all.

The best guess scenario was to waltz into Iraq, set up the huge permanent bases, then settle back, recharge, and begin to create the excuses to attack Iran.

By the way, Seixon, it was widely noted in the media that Bush made a very blunt threat against Iran in the SOTU, while carefully omitting the customary qualifier about diplomacy. This was widely viewed as unusual and rather ominous in diplomatic circles.

I doubt that Invasion is in the cards for Iran. It is significant that an Admiral is in charge of a desert war. More likely cruise missiles from ships in the Persian Gulf. Will we be manipulated into it , or just blunder into it??? We need to get out of Iraq and difuse this peril before we start world war III. Before the cuban missile crisis, JFK had read the “Guns of August” by Barbara Tuchman, about how the world blundered into World War I. I shudder to think what Bush was reading before he chose to attack Iraq and open Pandora’s box.
