“In an extraordinary internal challenge
to the unruly Office of the Vice President,” the Information Security Oversight Office (ISOO) has formally petitioned the Attorney General to direct Cheney’s office “to comply with a requirement that executive branch organizations disclose statistics on their classification and declassification activity to ISOO. For the last three years, Cheney’s office has refused to divulge its classification statistics to ISOO, despite a seemingly explicit requirement that it do so.”

Even when they controlled both houses of Congress, the administration simply ignored their own party. With folks such as Pat Roberts around doing everything in their power to protect the administration, you have to wonder why this type of thing happened?
Wouldn’t you love it if, after we impeach Bush and Cheney, the American people were able to go after the 107th, 108th and 109th Congresses for obstruction of justice?

Know why? As I’ve pointed out many times, the Office of the Vice President does not consider itself an “executive branch organization.”

Cheney’s COS and former counsel has argued this very questionable interpretation on a number of things which has in tern allowed OVP to be exempt from various disclosures.

The Executive Branch is supposed to “execute”, that is put into practice, the policies and laws enacted by the Legislative Branch. The Executive Branch does not get to make up or follow only its own set of laws. I am tired of BushCo legislating from the Oval Office (or the VP’s office).

When will these senators learn that Cheney and his Gonzo guard dog are just laughing at them. Until impeachment proceedings for Cheney begin he will not be bothered. You know he lied in his “no doubt” speech that took us to war. He can be removed from office as a threat to national security as well as Gonzales before impeachment proceedings ever begin. Who will protect the senate if Cheney decides to dismiss them? Somebody better do something “preemptive” to bring this man back into line because all you’ll get from him is “Go f__k yourself” as he has already told us all. Impeachment would actually rally the country again (and perhaps the world). Somebody stop him. He has no more power than we allow him. So get URGENT.
