Simple Roger Simon met a pieman going to the fair;
Said Simple Roger Simon to the pieman "Let me taste your ware"
Said the pieman to Simple Roger Simon "Show me first your penny"
Said Simple Simon to the pieman "Sir, I have not any!"

Simple Roger Simon went a-fishing for to catch a whale;
All the water he had got as in his mother's pail.
Simple Roger Simon went to look if plums grew on a thistle;
He pricked his fingers very much which maded poor Simon whistle.
He went for water in a sieve but soon it all fell through;
And Simple Roger Simon would have us believe the Libby case is nutty
Which makes me wonder if Simple Roger Simon's brain is made of putty
Or if Simple Roger Simon's lack of common sense
Made him ask to sample pieman's ware without any cents!
Any one of America's People can very clearly see that Scooter Libby
Is as GUILTY AS SIN, LIED TO THE GRAND JURY, and is no better than a common skivvy!
Simple Roger Simon would have us believe Libby didn't commit a real crime!
I wouldn't give A RAT's ASS for Simon's DAMNABLE LYING, let alone a plugged dime!!!!!
So Simple Roger Simon, CRAWL BACK UNDER THE ROCK YOU CREPT FORTH FROM,
And Hope to God we don't put you in a STOCKS and THROW ROTTEN TOMATOES AT YOU, YOU DUM-DUMB!
And now poor Simple Roger Simon bids you all "Adieu"!

Of course it’s a real crime, even when Slick Willie lied, even though at that time it was the Dems who said, oh lying about sex isn’t a crime. It is if it’s under oath!! Doesn’t matter who does the lying and for what reason. a LIE is a LIE! Perjury is Perjury!!!

Comment by Douglas G. — February 12, 2007 @ 3:53 pm

No...the Dems said that lying about sex did not rise to the level of an impeachable offense. If Clinton had stolen a crate of bananas from the local market and then lied about it to a grand jury, would you still throw him out of office?

Funny that one of the supposed crimes that Clinton committed was giving away national secrets to China. Why didn't you and your wonderful Republicans impeach him over that? Huh? No evidence? Not as hot and steamy as revealing a sexual affair carried on by the President?

Douglas, Valerie Plame ran a CIA front operation called Brewster-Jennings and Assoc., I believe. The company was a long-running operation designed to track the proliferation of illegal nuclear weapons. Conservatives evidently do not think this is important work. Strange. The day after Bob Novak published the name of her company, the operation was through. Now, I ask you: if Al Gore said something to a member of the media which led to the ruining of an intelligence asset like this, what would republicans have said?

Could anything Wilson may or may not have done justify the Bush administrations vendetta? The Wilson bashers' misdirections only work on the easily suggestable. It boils down to this. The CIA asked the justice department to investigate the outing of of a deep cover operative working on nuclear proliferation issues in Iran. It is becoming increasingly apparent that a campaign against Wilson including the outing of his wife was orchestrated by Cheney with Bush's blessing. This doesn't come as news to those of us in the reality-based community. In order to protect himself and his boss, Scooter lied repeatedly to a grand jury. He's going down.

Show me the phone records. Show me the memos. Show me anything that actually corroborates what Drumheller is claiming. Blindly believing people is not my cup of tea.

Comment by Lucifer — February 12, 2007 @ 3:26 am

I don't have to show you any phone records or memos. Given the fact that there were no WMD's in Iraq, which means they were not a threat to their neighbors or to the U.S. (a point made by both Powell and Rice in early and mid-2001 when they said that the sanctions against Iraq were working, Saddam was not capable of starting a WMD program, and that Iraq was contained), I think that Drumheller's points have been proven.

As for blindly believing people, how many times have you "blindly" believed Bush and members of his administration when they have made various claims? Have you demanded phone records or memos? Wild Dick Cheney has said in public that the insurgents were in "their last throes." Did you believe him, or did you want to see the proof in the face of sustained and/or increasing attacks on our troops by those "last throes" insurgents? Don Rumsfeld said he knew where the WMDs were located. Did you blindly believe him, or did you demand that the phone calls and memos and satellite photos be released to the public so that you could sort through the intelligence yourself before agreeing or disagreeing with his conclusion? When Dick Cheney said that America would surely be attacked again if Kerry was elected president, did you blindly believe him, or did you ask for proof? Or did you just trust that Cheney and Rumsfeld knew what they were talking about because...well, just because they said so?

Let's recall for a moment what the politicians who Sexion supports said about crimes of this nature back in '99:

Sen. Brownback: "Perjury and obstruction of justice are crimes against the state. Perjury goes directly against the truth-finding function of the judicial branch of government." [Congressional Record, 2/12/99]

Sen. Hutchison: "The reason that I voted to remove him from office is because I think the overridding issue here is that truth will remain the standard for perjury and obstruction of justice in our criminal justice system and it must not be gray. It must not be muddy." [AP, 2/12/99]

Sen. McConnell: "I am completely and utterly perplexed by those who argue that perjury and obstruction of justice are not high crimes and misdemeanors...Perjury and obstruction hammer away at the twin pillars of our legal system: truth and justice." [Congressional Record, 2/12/99]

Sen. Frist: "There is no serious question that perjury and obstruction of justice are high crimes and misdemeanors...Indeed, our own Senate precedent establishes that perjury is a high crime and misdemeanor...The crimes of perjury and obstruction of justice are public crimes threatening the administration of justice." [Congressional Record, 2/12/99]

Frist: “There is no serious question that perjury and obstruction of justice are high crimes and misdemeanors…Indeed, our own Senate precedent establishes that perjury is a high crime and misdemeanor…The crimes of perjury and obstruction of justice are public crimes threatening the administration of justice.” [Congressional Record, 2/12/99]

Sexion: "Bush was not a member of PNAC, thus you cannot use their document, which does not state explicitly to invade Iraq as far as I know, to prove when Bush decided to invade Iraq."

This is how you know Sexion is an intellectually dishonest operative who uses obfuscation and distortion to cloud the issue. Bush's brother Jeb and most of the members of his inner circle signed the PNAC document. I think that on this issue at least, it's important to remember that Sexion's goal is to muddy the waters and spread confusion.

Comment by Lucifer — February 12, 2007 @ 3:26 am

And would you and all the Bush lovers in America believed Drumheller if he had gone public with this info prior to the invasion? Hell no. Bush was too busy ratcheting up public fear by raising the terror threat level over the objections of Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge.

And besides that (and I know that it's near impossible for your small brain to wrap itself around this, but try to keep up), sometimes your position in a company or organization requires that you just keep your mouth shut if you value your current and future career (and possibly your life). Years ago I was a tech support person for a major cable company. It would have been a simple thing to tell our customers that, yes, you are correct Mr. Joe Sixpack in saying that sometimes our service sucks, and let me tell you why, but as insignificant as I might have been in the corporate world, I needed a job and the company required me to support it no matter what. Were people harmed by our poor service? Other than possibly missing that all important football game on Sunday due to a cable outage, the answer, I believe, would be "no." But had I spilled the beans and management got wind of it, I'd had been escorted to the front door.

As for Drumheller, did you read the entire interview to which I linked? I'd say that based on his position in the CIA, he knows what he is talking about. He knew that "Curveball" could not be trusted. He warned his superior about this and was assured it would be addressed. It was not.

Didn’t that nice Kay Baily Hutcheson bring us through this non-sensical talking point? And was swatted down quickly. What happened to the rule of law Republicans?

Yes, and then she backpedaled. Just give Simon a couple of days and he'll whip out the "I was misquoted" BS.

Following your lead:

Two six ton jet engines that burn jet fuel are "boiled" away by a jet fuel fire.

How STUPID do you have to be to believe something like that!
