Administration stonewalls on Pace remarks.

The Washington Post follows up on Gen. Peter Pace’s claim that he has seen no proof of high-level Iranian involvement in weapons smuggling into Iraq:

Pressed repeatedly, Snow answered, “Look, the Department of Defense is doing this. What I’m telling you is, you guys want to get those questions answered, you need to go to the Pentagon.”

A call to the Defense Intelligence Agency brought a referral to the main Pentagon press office. That office referred a caller to the Washington office of the Multi-National Force-Iraq, which responded with an e-mailed copy of Sunday’s briefing slides — containing no mention of the “highest levels” allegation and a request for questions in writing. Written questions brought no response. An official from the Pentagon Joint Staff said last night that Pace had seen the briefing slides but had “no personal knowledge of any senior involvement by senior Iranian officials.”

Like usual the Bush Regime lies about everything, including Iran's involvement in Iraq!

Good follow-up, but this story is buried on page A18, after they plastered the Iranian "connection all over A1 the other day. Same tactic as with the lead-up to Iraq....

Pace better get his butt on the reservation or start planning his move to the private sector--the defense industry of course.

This administration can say Neverland was an iranian idea and the 20% will follow, as usual. There is not a requisite for a democracy to have intelligent people exercising it.

These EFPs, otherwise known as shaped charges, are nothing new. They have been used in the oil industry for many decades. Since Iraq is in the oil business you can be sure that they are awash with shaped charge devices just as they are awash with weapons caches. Iraq doesn’t need Iran to obtain shaped charges. Not even a good attempt at cooked-intel.

Yeah, those known weapon and ammo dumps were left unguarded and unblown while the forces secured the Iraqi Oil Ministry. The dumps were all raided and empty when they decided to take care of them weeks later.
Biggest military blunder of the whole war.

What happened to invading for WMDs?
You would think the weapon and ammo caches would have been top priority.

Yeah, maybe they hid them at the OIL Ministry. =P

No one will argue the Iranian regime is an armpit of repression, especially to it's women..

Why not North Korea first? Answer that troll.
They already have tested a warhead and missles.

Iran sits on top of about 10% of the World's oil supply.

Tim Russert's Role in the Oligarch's Crusade:

There's a formula that is understood by Russert and his guests. Russert asks the tough, piercing question, the guest, using their finest obfuscation, dance around the question without ever answering it - then Russert, true to form, FAILS TO ASK THE FOLLOW-UP QUESTION REPEATEDLY UNTIL THE ANSWER IS PROVIDED.

That is the nature of not only Russert's show, but ALL Mainstream "journalism."

That's the entire game being played - all of it orchestrated from on-high by David Rockefeller.

The "Appearance" of news reporters. That's all we have. No investigation, no follow-up questions - no actual truth.

    Hey Tim...it's goes like this:

    "Answer the question."

"That's fine - but now answer my question."

"OK - ENOUGH OF THE OBFUSCATION - NOW ANSWER MY QUESTION DIRECTLY."

When you ask a question, listen for the answer. When they fail to answer your question, ask it again. And again.

    Journalism 101.

Adam Candeub, now a law professor at Michigan State University, said senior managers at the agency ordered that "every last piece" of the report be destroyed. "The whole project was just stopped - end of discussion," he said. Candeub was a lawyer in the FCC's Media Bureau at the time the report was written and communicated frequently with its authors, he said.

Even Snowjob Tony can't keep up with their lies - just like Scotty McClellen, soon he'll be overwhelmed by the miasma of this regime.

  20. veritas Says:

#19 This is precisely why most americans go to the internet for their news. The mainstream media is ALL this regime's propaganda machine. Don't believe a thing you hear or read. It's all lies.

  21. veritas Says:

It's called the journalistic "circle jerk" in which case all of the dancing and eluding simply means it's time for the viewer to turn it off because they're obviously evading the truth. It's a parlor game and a charade and no longer relevant to the american people in terms of obtaining real news. It's american theatre!

  22. veritas Says:

The Bush Administration and the sycophantic media whores, owned by fascist america, have created the perfect storm for their own descent into irrelevancy. They have no one to blame but themselves for being "on the take" with this administration and skewing every piece of news they present to the american people.

"Truth In Reporting" is a thing of the past; everyone of them has become a primo "fiction writer" and will now have to find work writing novels instead of purporting to be reporting truth. They've sealed their own fate and have closed their own coffins.

Mainstream media is totally irrelevant now in this country.

  23. InOnTheFly Says:

Nobody in this Administration would know how to react to General Pace's statement -- IT INVOLVED TELLING THE TRUTH!!

    Christians win again!

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,251620,00.html

Feminazi whore, Amanda Marcotte, had to quit John Edwards campaign, because she blasphemed Christians.

Seems she hates having been born a woman, and resents that only women have to endure bearing children. She should just get sexual reassignment surgery and be done with it.

  25. veritas Says:

Truth means zilch to this administration of smoke and mirrors....and that's becoming increasingly more obvious to middle american day by day. I doubt The People can tolerate two more years of this inane blather coming out of the WH nor the ridiculously obvious sensationalism in the news - not to mention the overt propaganda. When this administration told us that the Patriot Act would bring us "security", what they didn't tell us is that we would be trading "security for freedom".....Thomas Jefferson said eons ago that "when one trades their freedoms for the ILLUSION OF SECURITY, he deserves and receives NEITHER - freedom nor security. This is where we find ourselves at this moment....open borders and absolutely impotent security to even handle an emergency like Katrina! What has happened to this country in 6 short years?? We can't even get water to people in 5 days or get them evacuated properly for 4 or 5 days in rising flood waters so how can we continue to delude ourselves into believing that we are "secure" or that our government is there to help us?? Our government is there to take our hard earned tax dollars, aren't they? Yet on the other end of the bargain when it comes to helping people with that money, they've head for the hills (or on vacation in Crawford as the case actually was) The response of the government was horrendous and criminal. This, also, needs to be revisited and admonishment doled out to those individuals (up to the very top) who failed the people abysmally.

What has this administration done right? What has this administration of lies & corruption accomplished except more lies, corruption, and deceit? What have they done to earn their paychecks? It's time for some answers....and the people need to demand them for those "in their employ" who serve the people.

What will it be this weekend that will come forth and embarrass the american people? More fraud? More lies?? More corruption exposed?? Americans once could be proud of their leaders....no more. That, thanks to this incompetent group of renegades, is a thing of the past.

Kudos to Chris Dodd for taking the bull by the horns and his new attempt to restore our constitution. How dare those misanthropes in this administration trample our constitution as they have? How dare them usurp the rights guaranteed the people in this democracy? (What democracy?? It's full-fledged fascism now!).

Let's all support Chris Dodd for "doing the right thing" and reprimand anyone who attempts to dilute his bill or stand in his way. This is a beginning, folks....a beginning to the reinstatement of this government Of The People.

Thanks #17 for your link. It's a "must see" for anyone concerned about our constitutional rights.

    #27, veritas,

It is important, because one of your fellow liberal netroot bloggers just got taken down by a head-on shot by a Christian conservative. It seems that Edwards wants the votes of Christians, and can't allow anti-Christian feminazis bringing him down.

Someone wondered last night why Mitt Romney was announcing his camndidacy in Michigan, as opposed to his home state odf Massachusetts:
Romney was born in Michigan, the son of George Romney, a former governor.
Michigan also now has very sinister Republican element entrenched in Grand Rapids, headed by the DeVos family, founders of Amway Corporation... Dick DeVos lost the 2006 governors race, thankfully.
Dick DeVos' sister is married to the head and founder of Blackwater Security, Eric (something).
Amway was a major financial backer in the founding of Blackwater.

Wow, Jason...you don't even pretend to hide your misogynistic idiocy anymore, do you?

    Let's break this post down:

"Feminazi whore" really sums up Jason's argument in particular and his stance in general. There's no real reason to continue past this point, except for morbid curiosity.

"had to quit". Amanda didn't "have to quit". Edwards didn't demand her resignation. She chose to leave the campaign.

"because she blasphemed Christians." Exactly how do you 'blaspheme' a Christian? That doesn't make even a fragment of sense, Jason. Profoundly stupid, even by your dismal standards.

"Seems she hates having been born a woman..." (blah blah blah). It seems lately that you've been parading your misogyny like it's a medal of honor, Jason. It's not. It only makes you look even more ridiculous than usual (difficult, I know, since your claim to possess a diploma from the "Ivy League" Stanford already puts you in the top ten, but somehow, you manage to pull it off).

Here's one more thing you might want to chew on while you're taking out your resentment of your mother on all humans lacking a Y chromosome:

Bill Donahue may well have broken the law by using his 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization as a soapbox for his personal vendetta against Amanda Marcotte.

Isn't that a kick in the teeth?

Yo, Jason! Have you considered surgery yourself? Looking at your posts over the years leads me to believe you're a woman trapped in a boy's body. That must be tough on you. Maybe some surgery and a new hairdo would wake you up just enough to smell the coffee.

    Pardon me for shouting, but:

    HEY, STUPID!

Did you even bother to READ the article you linked to?

    From your article:

Edwards, a former North Carolina senator, called the messages personally offensive, but decided to keep Marcotte and McEwan on staff.

Get it yet, dolt? Marcotte resigned. She was NOT fired.

Is this the reading comprehension skills they teach in the "Ivy League" Stanford? If so, you might want to ask for your box tops back.

First Time Conned = Shame on you!
Second Time Conned = Shame on me!

Pace is not going to play "Colin Powell" for this group of thugs, that's clear. What's also clear is that Pace knows all too well that he doesn't want to be their scapegoat or sit his butt in jail when this is investigated and charges brought forth. Pace is no fool - especially NOT Bush's fool.

  38. veritas Says:

Let's all call for a thorough investigation of Bill Donohue's 502(3)C usage today! This idiot will be sorry he ever opened his ugly trap to spew forth such drivel. If he has used his tax exempt status as a platform he's broken federal laws.

  39. veritas Says:

Hey, Jas....who cares about the christian vote?? or the jewish vote?? or any vote for that matter?? You've become irrelevant in your pursuit of hijacking these threads. Adios...psychotroll.

  40. DallasNE Says:

This is what happens when you create a monster with more than one head. The body cannot move because the multiple heads are sending different signals. The missing ingredient, still, is lack of leadership. Unless or until Bush puts one person in charge of the message on Iraq and now Iran we will continue to see muddle. Cheney used to somewhat function in that role but he is now damaged goods. Gates seems to be a reluctant leader. Pace, a former yes man, has recently shown signs of some spine but the verdict is still out on him. That means nobody except Bush is left and he is too much of a lightweight to function in this capacity.

    - via Global Research

And yes, Pete, you are absolutely correct about those supposedly high-tech EFP shaped charges. I can personally attest that they are old-hat in the oil bidness. If they are not currently manufactured in Iraq, it is simply because we destroyed all their machine shops.

And another one bites the dust...
