Of course he was – anyone who’s not been the “right kind” of “team player” has been fired, from anywhere and everywhere in our Gov’t….

Cheney runs the US Gov’t exactly the same way Kruschev ran the Soviet Gov’t. : Who do you think Cheney learned politics from????

…what’s happening with the (demoted, and dismissed) “WHISTLEBLOWERS” like Bunnatine Greenhouse, Colleen Rowley, and Sybil Edmonds?

…they stuck their necks (and careers) out so that we the people could know the truth about:

No-bid contracts, FBI misconduct/mishandling of pre-911 intel, and TRAITORS in the CIA language translators dept…

…we owe these courageous women a HUGE debt of gratitude…

I have a few legitimate questions I would like an honest answer to from the posters here at Thin Progress.

    Here goes.

Why dont you folks leave the government up to the professional government?

Why dont you folks leave the military up to the professional military?

What do you folks strive for?
    What do you strive against?

    What is the goal here?
    Define the goal?

Define US politics today in detail.
Define US geo-politics & policies today in detail.

    What is an enemy?
    Who is the enemy?

Why are there enemies of the US?
Why are there allies of the US?
Who is an ally of the US?
    Why are they an ally.

    What is Christianity?
    Why is there Christianity?
    Who are these Christians?

    What are Jews?
Why is there the Jewish faith?
    Who are these Jews?

Why does mankind have a common bond?
Does mankind even have a common bond?
    What is that bond?

The answers to all of these questions and many more are available in the best-selling book of ALL TIME!

    The Bible.

Question. If this trial goes through and it is determined by the Court that this agent was fired for refusing to “cook” the info about WMD, what does that do to Bush when it comes to impeachment?

In short, can this provide the “smoking gun” to start impeachment?

  13. kclaf says:

    To the pastor x

I appreciate your belief in the bible, however, it is your right to do so, it is NOT your right to impose YOUR belief on others. A democracy assures us of that. Now, since it appears that we are losing democracy in this country, we that post here and other places, find a forum to express our thoughts and beliefs without being shouted down. I love this country and weep for it’s being dismantled as crudely as is being done, whether you believe that or not does not change the facts of reality.

Your bible also states thou shalt not kill…….but how many innocents have been killed by this administration? I think looking at the way we are being ‘governed’ and those doing the ‘governing’ need to be looked at and held accountable for their actions, not blaming others but by looking at self and one’s own motives. I don’t have all of the answers but I do know an elephant when I see one, and we have a very large one in view that many choose to ignore, and that elephant has lots and lots of other elephants in it’s fold.

  14. Anais says:

One for the good guys! I do hope it’s the tip of the iceberg, which, when melted, will reveal many reasons for impeachment.

    From “wickedpedia”:

“Trolling for fish” is a form of angling where lines with hook-rigged lures are dragged behind a boat to entice fish to bite.

Hmmm, good question, seems like something that could easily blamed on a “lower down” rather than connected directly to Bush

The more sophisticated fish (steelhead, mature salmon) won’t bite it in the ocean.

  18. wake-n-bake says:

    RUC,
I knew some fish are smarter than others, so in terms of our Government officials, if steelhead and mature salmon are John Murtha, what type of sea animal would George Bush be? A mollusk?

As the late President Ford said when he was in Congress, “High Crimes and Misdemeanors” means whatever a majority in the House decides it means.

So, the broad answer is, yes, it could. Is it likely to? I doubt it. You would have to find that Bush had a hand in the firing, then determine if it was so improper as to warrant removal from office.

What astounds me is Bush’s admitted violations of treaties has not been challenged by Congress. Remember when he announced that he was bringing 14 “terrorists” to Guantanamo in his run-up to have his Military Commissions Act passed? That admission of holding people in secret prisons was an admission of breaking the law, yet no one spoke out to hold Bush accountable.

So, here you have a United States President, admitting he committed an act in violation of Treaties, and still no impeachment proceedings.

Karma’s going to get real ugly for the United States.

  31. --spared-- says:

I’ve given up on any of these people paying their dues. This guy won’t see a nickel and chances are his life will become a living hell if he proceeds with this. Why? Because as we see from the Scooter Libby trial, even though most of the evidence points towards Cheney and higher ups having something to do with Plame’s outing, nothing has been done – nor will it.

    We need to move on.

  32. Bluestocking says:

I think this is good news. Firing someone for purely political reasons simply because he didn’t produce the “right” answer — meaning, of course, the answer which the administration wanted regardless of whether it represented the facts or not — is unconscionable. If he wins the case, it potentially could be used as a nail in the coffin of the Bush administration since this would provide even more evidence for the argument that Bush was trying to alter the intelligence to fit a pre-existing policy instead of altering the policy to fit the intelligence.

  33. Liberal in New Mexico says:

Here is yet more allegation to accompany the CIA-outing scandal evidence and the way the adminstration manipulated the national intelligence. This will only add more fuel to the already damning and incriminating testimony against them all. I hope MORE agents step forward. Damn, 2007 is going to be a F* great year! Who would have thought, a mere six months ago?

  36. Jet Mech says:

what type of sea animal would George Bush be? A mollusk?

    Tunicate.

Tunicates have two openings in their body cavity: an incurrent and an excurrent siphon. The incurrent siphon is used to intake food and water and the excurrent siphon expels waste and water. The tunicate’s primary food source is plankton. Plankton gets entangled in the mucus secreted from the endostyle. The tunicate’s pharynx is covered by miniature hairs called ciliated cells which allow the consumed plankton to pass down through to the esophagus. Tunicates are also the only animals able to create cellulose.

Some larval forms appear very much like primitive chordates or hemichordates with a notochord (primitive spinal cord). Superficially the larva resemble small tadpoles. Some forms have a calcereous spicule that may be preserved as a fossil. They have appeared from the Jurassic to the present, with one proposed Neoproterozoic form, Yarnemia.

The larval stage ends when the tunicate finds a suitable rock to affix to and cements itself in place. Many physical changes occur to the tunicate’s body, one of the most interesting being the digestion of the cerebral ganglion previously used to control movement. From this comes the common saying that the sea squirt “eats its own brain”.[1]

  37. Luke says:

#34: If he wins the case, it potentially could be used as a nail in the coffin of the Bush administration since this would provide even more evidence for the argument that Bush was trying to alter the intelligence to fit a pre-existing policy instead of altering the policy to fit the intelligence.

In addition to the lawsuit, Congress should be aggressively investigating any efforts by the Bush administration to fix the intelligence to fit their Iraq policy. That could include firing agents, silencing reports, burying reports, pimping previously discredited reports, relying on unreliable sources, and the like. This whole story needs to be fully understood, and the people responsible should be held accountable.
