“Hundreds of gay couples were granted the same legal rights, if not the title, as married couples Monday as New Jersey became the third state to offer civil unions.” Steven Goldstein and Daniel Gross, partners for 15 years, were the first couple to be joined in civil union. Watch it:

Bravo! N.J…..Blessings

I can’t tell if this video is a terrorist attack, or the civil union.

February 20th, 2007 at 1:14 pmI have a big Daryll AMEN for that comment! heh
Seem like nice guys. All men are created equal… Should have never been a restriction on gays. Long overdue. Congratulations.
February 20th, 2007 at 1:30 pmHas there been a Fox News Alert yet on the tens of thousands of heterosexual marriages that were instantaneously destroyed by the union of Steven and Daniel?
February 20th, 2007 at 2:00 pmIt’s a great step forward. But we need to be careful about saying things like “…gay couples were granted the same legal rights, if not the title, as married couples…” when this is not entirely true. We need to give some recognition to how this pertains only to rights granted by the state, and has no bearing at all on federal rights and benefits, which for some are the real need. In my case, my seriously disabled partner will not get social security survivor benefits when I pass away, and we worry a great deal about this.
February 20th, 2007 at 2:17 pm[…] people to complete the civil union ceremony for homosexuals in New Jersey on Monday. The video is here. And a little note to anyone who would attack these men. These men are our family, our firends, our […]
February 20th, 2007 at 2:41 pmAnd this is what threatens people so much? Silly! Congrats to the couple and good on NJ.
February 20th, 2007 at 3:24 pmCongratulations, Steven & Daniel!
February 20th, 2007 at 3:55 pmOh, bestill my heart!
I don’t care what you call it or
what sexual orientation the
participants are…
I still cry at weddings!
Maybe if the people who are so
adamantly against these unions
could witness one, they’d
at least consider opening
their minds?
Or do you have to have
an open heart first,
for that to happen?
I think maybe so.
February 20th, 2007 at 8:44 pmjust one more step toward the downfall of our society.
morals are no longer objective, everything is now subjective, if it feels good do it.
its a disgrace that this is allowed. they should no be allowed to shove their perversion of a lifestyle down everyone else’s throat (no pun intended)
it used to be that homosexuality was considered a mental disorder, and rightly so. men and women are built for each other, only a disorder can account for their deviation from what comes natural to the other 96% of the population.
these people dont need marriage rights, they need psycho therapy.
February 21st, 2007 at 8:53 amMarriage exists in the hearts, not on a piece of paper.
It doesn’t matter if Texas has passed a ban on same-sex marriage, me and my partner are “married”, and I refer to him as my spouse.
It also doesn’t matter if Rush Limbaugh has a marriage license, when he’s tried it three times and struck out, he’s not looking for marriage, he’s looking for sex.
I give it around 20 more years for the rest of America to wake up to the fact that same-sex marriage will NOT destroy America and will NOT make every straight person get a divorce.
It took 80 years after the slaves were freed before the last of the laws against mixed-race marriages to be repealed. It’ll be less time for America to do what’s right and allow same-sex marriage.
February 21st, 2007 at 8:58 am#21 - Chester (the molester?), why are there homosexual animals in the wild if it’s not natural?
I think you’re swigging from the neo-con kool-aid a little too much. Slow down on the drinking and enter the new century.
February 21st, 2007 at 9:12 amI wish I had one of these “civil unions” with my first wife. It would have saved me a bunch of money on the divorce.
February 21st, 2007 at 12:10 pmI encourage everyone to read Jamie’s comments (#16). Civil unions are a step in the right direction but they are not an indication of equality.
February 21st, 2007 at 5:48 pmi hate faggots….there all useless wastes of life in the grand scheme of things
