I love how when a conservative gives some hard facts proved by scientists on here and the only response by the liberals is "wrong.all.wrong" and others things like "your an idiot" "you stupid"

PROVIDE SOME FACTS AND PROVE US WRONG. oh and one more thing

...

Uh, actually I am a scientist, and I think it is self-evident that you are a complete idiot.
by VerbalKint...

Wow I can make up stuff on the internet too. And if you are a scientist than I'm gonna ask you for some help with some chemistry problems... that would be great.

(IF) the Earth is warming up then that's good news. Many parts of this planet need warming up which in tern strengthens agriculture. You can't grow crops in permafrost.

I don't believe that one can claim that the Earth has warmed up to any degree beyond the Earth's natural temperature shifts. The Sun's solar flare activity is what makes the Earth warm and cool throughout 1,000-2,000 year cycles. We are experiencing an active Sun in the last 50 years and that could explain virtually all of the reason the Earth is warming up.

It is amusing that you rarely see left-leaning, "Goricals," celebrating over Global Warming and asking people to help contribute to Greenhouse Gasses. Yet, we have had exceptionally cold temperatures this Winter here in America's East Coast and elsewhere.

Think before you swallow conspiracy theories like chocolate cherries.

There is enough evidence that we DO NOT contribute to Global Warming and that there IS NO CRISIS with the climate.

I've read enough from this site: http://www.discussglobalwarming.com/blog and I dont think I need to read any more.

Get a grip. The planet is 5 BILLION years old. Have you all lost your minds? Can you, for one moment, imagine how small of a percentage your life-span is in terms of 5 BILLION years?

You people are arrogant to even THINK that we have anything to do with global warming.

If MARS had global warming you fruitcakes would try to blame bush and the rest of his followers.

You're all sick in the head.

Isn't Cheney the father of the 1% doctrine? That if there is a 1% chance the terrorists have WMD we should treat it as if it were a 100% certainty? Since the effects of global warming would exceed those of a WMD attack shouldn't the 1% doctrine apply to Global Warming as well? The parallel is obvious. We should torture the scientists.

"pudge" is correct. There is either an enormous amount of laziness among the critics of the Vice President on this issue or a lack of intellectual honesty.

Read what Cheney actually said when Karl asked him if "the jury is still out" on the question of human influence on climate:

JONATHAN KARL: So you think the jury is still out about whether or not this warming we're seeing has been caused by human activity?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Some of it has, I think. But exactly where you draw the line? I don't know.

"Some of it has, I think." That is an unequivocal statement that Cheney believes some amount of observed warming and projected warming results from human activity.

How much plainer does it have to be said for you to recognize and admit it? Would you passionate critics of the administration simply ignore whatever is said and continue with your baseless criticism no matter how plainly it is said?

I would bet that you would ignore facts and continue with your baseless criticism.

Why do you behave this way?

Faiz totally misrepresented Cheney -- whether intentionally or not, I don't know, but the misrepresentation is totally obvious either way -- in the headline by saying Cheney's quote said something it did not. Cheney did not say "there does not appear to be a consensus that global warming is caused by man," he said "there does not appear to be a consensus regarding *the extent to which* global warming is caused by man."

And that statement is absolutely right. The IPCC even reversed itself in this same "90 percent certain" report, downgrading the amount of anthropogenic global warming by 25 percent from previous estimates. And no one thinks that number won't continue to be adjusted as more data comes in, and many scientists have many questions about that number, which is why Cheney was absolutely right to say that there is no consensus on it. Some scientists think it is way too low, some way too high. There *is no consensus* about the *extent* to which global warming is caused by man.

Jeez, people, learn to read.

I would guess that greater then 90% of the comments in this thread indicate a dislike of Dick Cheney. I understand why, I dislike The Moron too. However, stop to think why this "person" is the Vice President of The United States.

Elections.

Now, think what kind of people would vote for this kind of leader.

Yes, I believe Cheney is some sort of low-life, but what causes the general population of our country to let this ilk into leadership roles?

And, more importantly, why do We The People allow proven morons to REMAIN in office? Why isn't there a public outrage?

Because we are all brainwashed pussies. That is why we pay too much for Dick's gasoline. That is why our troops are dying in Iraq. So, quit just bitchin' and write your Senators and Congresspersons (more elected officials) and demand impeachment.

DO something.

That is all.

I would guess that greater then 90% of the comments in this thread indicate a dislike of Dick Cheney. I understand why, I dislike The Moron too. However, stop to think why this “person” is the Vice President of The United States.

Elections.

Now, think what kind of people would vote for this kind of leader.

The wind farms already exist and only produce energy when the wind is blowing. We need additional energy.

If you want to criticize someone for lack of acumen, better re-read your posts. If additional energy is needed, more wind farms can be built, duh. The same goes for solar and thermal plants.

And of course wind farms already exist. I proved you wrong, you twit. You said "It may work great in a lab room, but none of what you mention is ready for prime time. " -you either lied or didn't know that wind power is out of the "lab room" and very much ready for "prime time". Do you even know what you wrote?

Nuclear waste is not an issue. You’re just ignorant and a fear monger. No facts. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Nuclear waste is an issue, no matter how much you repeat to yourself that it isn't. Obviously you didn't follow any if the links in my post, otherwise you wouldn't blather about "no facts": Suitable sites need to be found to bury the nuclear waste, aka "geological disposal".

Funny you accuse me of not knowing what I am talking about when you didn't know there are fully functional wind, solar, and thermal power plants all over the world; saying that "they are not ready for prime time".

Lots of ignorance from the anti-nuclear crowd. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Quick to cast the cast the first stone, Mr. "they are not ready for prime time"; what a strange thing to say. Also, I am not anti-nuclear -had you paid attention you'd know that. I happen to think there are better alternatives.

Why should I be ashamed? I got my facts straight. It's the half-wits like you who should be ashamed of not doing a minimum research before posting nonsense.

If we double carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, which could happen in less than 50 years at our current rate of carbon dioxide output, it will lead to a loss in soil moisture of up to 35% in the United States. It is possible, at our current rate of pollution that we will go quickly to a quadrupling of carbon dioxide in the air.

This will result in most soil in the United States losing up to 60% of moisture.

It's unthinkable that the administration would not take Illinois farmers, and other farmers' economic well being into their decisionmaking process. Of course, this will affect not only all farmers in the United States, but all consumers of farm goods.

This is an economic, environmental, social disaster. Just like the one that is currently affecting Dharfur.

Perhaps Martin Short and Robert F. Kennedy say it best:

Even a figure like 90% isn't scientific proof - all it shows is that a lot of scientists agree (hardly surprising, considering the vilification meated out to dissenters).

Galileo & Darwin found similar warmth from consensus scientists in their time.

It wasn't long ago that there was consensus about us entering a new ice age.

Even where scientists do agree that man causes climate change, they can't agree on the extent or the ramifications.

Face it folks. Weather has always been in a state of flux. You can't blame the continental drift, volcanoes, the ice age or anything else on man. Noah didn't encounter the flood because of Ham's use of underarm deodorant or Shem's carbon footprint.

I am not going to change my lifestyle in the slightest because of this years liberal fad. Everyone will be bored to death of this issue anyway, after the retarded pop concerts in July. They'll move onto the next cause celebre.
