Typical argument from Kristol — shoot first, and ask questions later (or better yet, don’t ask questions at all). What he conveniently neglects to mention is the fact that if you have a vested interest in carrying out a particular course of action, you can almost always find a reason (or rather, an excuse) to do it if you look hard enough.
