Speaking today to students at Texas State University as part of the school’s “Communications Week,” Karl Rove referred to YouTube, saying: “That can disrupt anything. Just ask former Sen. George Allen.” Note to Rove: It was Allen’s remarks — not YouTube — that disrupted his campaign.
We have visual truth on utube. We have distortion and lies from the whitehouse.
February 27th, 2007 at 7:36 pmThe act of committing the crime is not important.
Getting caught is.
February 27th, 2007 at 7:38 pmIt’s what they do best — shoot the messenger. Don’t blame the guy with the racist words, blame the internet site for posting the video of him.
February 27th, 2007 at 7:38 pmPhony bastard.
A disruption to what, Karl? Order in the Homeland?
Up yours.
February 27th, 2007 at 7:38 pmIt is a disruption because video clips of you and your masters can be archived and saved for all to see your lies and deceit?
Too frickin’ bad.
February 27th, 2007 at 7:45 pmSounds like Rove, leave nothing behind as a record, so you can deny the truth. Kind of goes along the story yesterday abou the White House scrubbing google records of some of Cheney’s idiot remarks on Iran. No record so “it didn’t happen”
Thanks to the internet and bloggers people are beginning to learn there are two sides to a coin.
February 27th, 2007 at 7:48 pmHay Rove baby, I think it is time to go and hide in the closet with your buddy Gannon, again..Your sounding crankie..Either that or you need a laxative….LOL….Blessings to every one else.
February 27th, 2007 at 7:53 pmIt cracks me up when I hear that these retards think that even a half billion dollar presidential library is gonna white wash history. Do they not realize that we live in the age of information? Do they not know that people like me will scream at the top of my lungs in public if my grandchild has a text book that doesnt portray bush as the biggest joke in American history? Do they not see us cataloging every misstep and lie? They may not see us now, but just like bad booze it comes back up….right georgie?
February 27th, 2007 at 8:01 pmWhy did I get censored for my earlier comment? I merely said that we would remember karls words at his execution…..should I have said his briss instead?
February 27th, 2007 at 8:04 pm#9 Hehe, I get that joke.
February 27th, 2007 at 8:14 pmI HATE ANYTHING I CANNOT CONTROL

February 27th, 2007 at 8:19 pm#10 about time someone did….thanx
February 27th, 2007 at 8:21 pmhttp://www.eff.org
Electronic Freedom Foundation
They are protecting our rights to survive as bloggers.
And with the way Bush 41 and now Rove are talking about bloggers and blogging, I believe before long they are going to try to take our right to blog away.
They will do it under the guise that it is a “terrorist planning center” and a threat to “national security”
I believe they will try this *before the 2008 election to try and make us lose our momentum we have built up right now.
Then if they “censor” us as bloggers down and the media, they can then come up with any “false excuse” as to why Democrats lost and republicans won.
And who is to question them? Not MSM. Not bloggers (by then non-exsistant)
http://www.eff.org deserves our FULL support.
They are a nonprofit outfit. They have a lobby in Washington DC.
They are doing an EXCELLENT job at maintaining our rights to blog and they deserve an accomadation for the work they do.
Any time they can divide us up, they control the field of obfuscation.
We MUST hold on to our RIGHT to blog at ALL COSTS!
Very Important!!
February 27th, 2007 at 8:27 pmWhat? An actual free press? A place where people can share information unsullied by corporate censors?
Nonsense! We’ll have none of that. It could disrupt something.
February 27th, 2007 at 8:52 pm#14 Yeah, Karl Rove would have been real comfortable in the 3rd Reich. He has no principles or conscience.
February 27th, 2007 at 8:56 pmKarl Who? Was he the one with The Math?
Does anyone view this goon with ANY credibility whatsoever?
February 27th, 2007 at 9:16 pmutube is a distraction from your rah rah vote for me scam
the real truth is none of these so called public servants serve
the people, they leech :)… political leeches
utube is a distraction to these political leeches and their totally
corrupt agenda regarding their totally corrupt relationship with
lobbyists, crony’s, & corp welfare
enough to make me PUKE and hopefully puke them right out of
February 27th, 2007 at 10:06 pmoffice once & for all…. oh ya.. they serve you & me all right
Karl Rove is will always be remembered as “the architect” of the most vile, power-abusive, corrupt administration in United States history.
I hope those at TSU who bothered to show up to watch that lying pig booed his bald, fat a** off the stage!
February 27th, 2007 at 10:09 pm“information bad…….foxnews goooood”
“don’t think………we know”
why didn’t someone at TSU pelt turdblossom with pudding cups or something?? crikey!!
February 27th, 2007 at 10:49 pmAllen, a Virginia Republican, lost his re-election last year in the wake of an amateur videotaper catching him calling an audience member a name that few judged charitably.
well, obviously this “reporter” doesn’t know the actual story about that incidence… wow… i thought EVERYbody knew that allen got caught while looking right into the camera and calling the “videotaper”, known to allen’s campaign, a racial slur… otherwise known as, in some parts, “a name that few judged charitably”… whaaa???
Rove said he would not be surprised if Politics.com, a fledgling Web-based operation focused on U.S. politics, contributes to the fast fadeaway of Washington bureaus staffed by reporters for regional newspapers.
probably not… the locals like their locals… but i fear these are also being poisoned by the neoCON idealogues…
the people need to keep their local papers – and USE THEM…
“All major news organizations now blog,” Rove said. He said there are no ground rules for non-news organizations on sourcing or attributing information.
good that he qualified that factoid with a truth…
February 27th, 2007 at 10:52 pmor, is this another underhanded push for more control of the internets?
more than likely… but i think this may be one thing we got ahead of them on… we have information, the truth… and i don’t think it’s going away… can’t get complacement…
http://www.savetheinternet.com/
No, Rove had it right, at least to him. As far as Rove is concerned Allen should have been able to say that or at least it should have been ignored. The real problem is YouTube. Rove was just implicitly saying that people are not allowed to disagree with him and his party and his ideology.
Screw Rove and the President he rode in on.
February 27th, 2007 at 10:59 pmAre Rove’s comments on YouTube yet?
February 27th, 2007 at 11:49 pmSHOOT THE MESSENGER, EH Rove, YOU DEFORMED LIMA-BEAN SHAPED HEAD, Miss Piggy and VICIOUS QUEER CREEP!!!!!! You and George Allen(I’ve already FORGOTTEN who that CREEP is!) CAN GO TO HADES AND KISS THE DEVIL’S ANUS–Oh, That’s RIght–You BOTH ALREADY DO THAT TO CHIMPya and Torticola Cheney, El Diablo and El Torticola!!!!!
February 27th, 2007 at 11:49 pmthese guys HATE absolutely HATE the free flow of information. I’m glad google bought youtube before murdock did. You tube is going to be one of the last bastions of the open marketplace of reality. Another think I like about images is thats its much harder to monitor than words.
February 28th, 2007 at 12:11 amwhy didn’t someone at TSU pelt turdblossom with pudding cups or something?? crikey!!
Comment by tom baker —
They did and now his latent anger is being taken out on the nation as a whole. He’s like a big, dumb, angry kid!
February 28th, 2007 at 1:07 amThis is the kind of comment I would expect from Karl Rove.
What I find most interesting about this administration is how very Stalinian they are: Reality is really optional and, as such, can be changed on a whim.
Just like in Stalin’s USSR, it’s all about controlling the message so the perception of reality can be manipulated. This perception, in turn, becomes reality: the dictator used to order his minions doctor photographs and erase from history those who had fallen out of favor. This was how Soviet history was taught to schoolchildren.
To someone like that, it makes perfect sense to think YouTube is a disruption since it breaks the control over reality. For the Stalins, er, Roves of the world facts are irrelevant, as long as there is a tight control over the dissemination of the message. With this control, any misdeed can be erased and forgotten.
This is how they’ve waged the war in Iraq, by controlling both images and the message. This is why it is so important for them to spread half-truths and misinformation about global warming. Same goes for sex education, the economy, social security, and virtually everything they’ve set to do: the message is just as important -if not more- as the initiative/policy itself.
Too bad for them, reality can be a very stubborn thing.
February 28th, 2007 at 1:18 amBill Maher: George of the Bungle
http://politicalhumor.about.com/od/bushvideos/v/maherbushbungle.htm
Mocking President Bush for general ineptitude, comedian Bill Maher delivered a funny rant as part of his “New Rules” segment on HBO’s “Real Time With Bill Maher”:
“Seriously, Mr. President, this job can’t be fun for you anymore. There’s no more money to spend; you used up all of that. You can’t start another war because you also used up the army. And now, darn the luck, the rest of your term has become the Bush family nightmare: helping poor people.”
“New rule: American must recall the president. That’s what this country needs – a good old-fashioned, California-style recall election, complete with Gary Coleman, porno actresses, and action film stars. And just like Schwarzenegger’s predecessor here in California, George Bush is now so unpopular, he must now defend his job against…Russell Crowe, because at this point I want a leader who will throw a phone at somebody. In fact, let’s have only phone throwers. Naomi Campbell can be the vice president.
“Now I kid, but seriously, Mr. President, this job can’t be fun for you anymore. There’s no more money to spend; you used up all of that. You can’t start another war because you also used up the army. And now, darn the luck, the rest of your term has become the Bush family nightmare: helping poor people. Yeah, listen to your mom, the cupboard’s bare, the credit card’s maxed out, and no one’s speaking to you. Mission accomplished.
“Now it’s time to do what you’ve always done best: lose interest and walk away. Like you did with your military service. And the oil company. And the baseball team. It’s time to move on and try the next fantasy job. How about cowboy or spaceman? Now, I know what you’re saying, you’re saying that there are so many other things that you as president could involve yourself in. Please don’t. I know, there a lot left to do. There’s a war with Venezuela, and eliminating the sales tax of yachts, turning the space program over to the church and Social Security to Fannie Mae, giving embryos the vote.
“But sir, none of that is going to happen now. Why? Because you govern like Billy Joel drives. You’ve performed so poor, I’m surprised you haven’t given yourself a medal. You’re a catastrophe that walks like a man. Herbert Hoover was a shitty president, but even he never conceded an entire metropolis to rising water and snakes. On your watch, we’ve lost almost all of our allies, the surplus, four airliners, two trade centers, a piece of the Pentagon, and the city of New Orleans. Maybe you’re just not lucky. I’m not saying you don’t love this country, I’m just wondering how much worse it could be if you were on the other side. So yes, God does speak to you, and what he’s saying is, ‘Take a hint.’”

Rove Caught Cheating in White House Ethics Class
Just days after President George W. Bush ordered the White House staff to take what was called a “refresher” course on ethics, his top aide Karl Rove was caught cheating during the first pop quiz given in the course. (From the Borowitz Report)

Rove must be really afraid of YouTube… here’s one piece of the media that he cannot completely control. Sure, he can put his crappy lies on YouTube which can then be overridden with the TRUTH. How’s it feel, traitor Rove, to be on the outside looking in? What size Saddam necktie do you wear, traitor Rove?
February 28th, 2007 at 7:19 amHeaven forbid the people get in the way of the coordinated Republican path to power.
February 28th, 2007 at 9:06 amKarl Rove…
…consistently…
…unAmerican, undemocratic, unpatriotic and anti-freedom…
…why do Rove and the Republicans HATE AMERICA?
February 28th, 2007 at 10:05 amWhat Rove doesn’t like about YouTube is that it doesn’t allow him or his ilk to control the message.
February 28th, 2007 at 11:17 amKarl Rove notwithstanding, YouTube will DEFINITELY disrupt the status quo of campaigning…
