#13O has a point here. The Fed's do not deny any of you the right to pay more in taxes. I can only assume that each and every one of you that want's higher taxes already pays the extra amount you think we should be paying or your a hypocrit.

Dear * Hater - Put your fingers in your wallet and not just your keyboard - YOU can pay as much in taxes as you WANT. I am not against taxes - I am against waste. I believe national defense, infrastructure, education, assistance for disabled and elderly, etc. are all GOOD things we should gladly support with our federal, state, property, and sales taxes. Add to those the umpteen taxes on your tires, telephone, and utility bills and you may Americans are NOT undertaxed.

So again, to all liberal individuals and organizations ("anything goes" churches and non-profits): Put UP or shut up. Let libs pay as much in taxes as is necessary to assuage their guilt. Let all the churches and non-profits who advocate more entitlements aubject themselves to taxes. Afterall, it's very EASY to love your neighbour with other people's money.

Pretty sad and horrifying that this neocon sh*thead moron and his little philosophy appears right underneath the story of the poor young soldier who re-enlisted for the health benefits and died over in the * war for oil based on lies.

Anyone who claims that tax cuts bring about a better way of life is showing what a xenophobic cousin-marrying moron looks like, something that you find in all social strata. If you go to any country other than the United States where taxes are higher (all civilized countries, that is), you see what benefits taxes bring: cleaner environment, better educated and more well-rounded children, less dichotomy between rich and poor. Japan immediately comes to mind.

I currently have no clue if taxes are truly too high or too low. Comment by Roger_Roger — March 3, 2007 @ 7:16 am

You could have ended your entire post (in fact all posts) at the word clue in this post. It would have been accurate, and saved everyone a lot of time responding to your b*llsh*t.

But it's true, you do have no clue - period.

Republican bipartisanship
at work, folks...

This is long, but it should be played
over and over and over again
on every channel - so
every American gets to see why
nothing good comes from this Whole Administration.

Why Democrats won't be able to get anything done
for us, or the people we care about...

These people plan to stonewall and jerk off
on my dime! Outrageous!

Thanks for the kneejerk reaction, I knew some troll would take the bait. Cutting spending doesn't work, the Reagan years proved that. All that did was blow a huge hole in the deficit. And yes, raising taxes on the affluent would save social security. With the affluent fully invested in Social Security, they would be more concerned with its solvency. It would then be an issue which unites us as Americans, as we would all be in the same boat, financially speaking, unlike the present, two-tiered system, which divides us along an arbitrary, economic line: the cut-off point at which high-income citizens stop paying the same, dollar for dollar, as less economically fortunate taxpayers.

To: Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice
cc: Chairs of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and House Committee on International Relations

We, the undersigned, vehemently oppose any U.S. military action against Iran. Such military action would inevitably kill large numbers of innocent people, foster even more hatred and international condemnation of the U.S., and dramatically increase the instability of the region. Our own intelligence agencies have concluded the Iraq war has worsened the terrorist threat, and a war against Iran would add immeasurably more fuel to the fire.

Even if Iran decided to build a nuclear weapon, experts agree that it would take several years. There is no crisis, and our government should not create one with inflammatory rhetoric or military threats. The U.S. has both the time and obligation to work with the international community to fashion a diplomatic resolution to the situation, and the current refusal of U.S. officials to talk directly with Iranian officials cannot possibly help resolve the nuclear standoff, nor contribute to peace in Iraq and the Middle East.

Therefore, we urge you to take all steps necessary to reach a peaceful resolution to the current situation, including direct negotiations without pre-conditions. This is the only way to prevent yet another war, one that would be a calamity of truly global proportions.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
No War with Iran!
President Bush is now regularly accusing Iran of supporting attacks on U.S. troops, without any evidence, - remember the WMD's in Iraq, anyone? - adding that "we will seek out and destroy" these networks. Bush has authorized U.S. forces to kill Iranian "operatives" in Iraq, and he is sending nuclear aircraft carriers and missile defense batteries to the Persian Gulf. The unthinkable - a wider war in the Middle East - is unfolding.

John D. Rockefeller IV, D-W.Va., chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said that any U.S. military move into Iran would be "catastrophically stupid" and "unleash a conflagration like we've never heard of before." We could not possibly agree more.

Resistance to a Bush planned military strike on Iran is growing in Congress, but it needs your help! Sign the petition to Congress below - No War with Iran! House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said recently that she would introduce legislation to stop such a strike, so our demand is beginning to get through. But the pressure needs to be much, much stronger to stop a President who has apparently gone mad with war and his own power.

Please know that your email address is for internal purposes only; we will not send it to the petition recipients nor share it with any other organization for any purpose. Thanks also for forwarding this to your friends, colleagues and listserves. We need everyone who wants to bring peace to the Middle East and prevent a war with Iran to join the effort now!

Man TP, your users have just dropped to a new low of dumbness. You have this ValiantVenusGrewFromUranus who demeans women every chance he gets. In almost every single post in fact. Does that sit ok with this crowd? I guess so. You also have Bruce Gorton who fails at reading. Bruce reread my post carefully please. I never once said we SHOULD lower taxes nor did I say we SHOULD raise them.

I currently have no clue if taxes are truly too high or too low. Like I said before, there is a sweet spot and that spot optimizes your tax returns. Going above or below it actually decreases tax revenue. This isn't an opinion, this is economics 101. If you raised taxes to say 95%, do you honestly think that would raise tax revenues? I need some help from ValiantVenusGrewFromUranus. He needs to call you that demeaning name towards women if you believe that. No one works if you raise taxes to high or they at least reduce there amout of work as the return just doesn't matter. Again, this isn't an opinion and you don't need college to figure this out. A 1st grader can understand this. Ask yourself, would you go to work if you got absolutely nothing? Would you go to work for $0.50 per hour? At what price would you start going to work? At what price would you work the most hours at? That last question is the optimize your tax returns question. The government needs you at work as much as possible at the highest tax rate possible to optimize their return. Again, this isn't something to agree or disagree on, this is just economics 101.

Roger_Roger

You aren't terribly bright are you?

Your entire idealogy of dropping taxes to up income doesn't work. It has failed. Trying to pretend otherwise is basically just a reflection of the fact that you are thick.

In the end you get what you pay for, taxes should be raised to pay off America's debts and pay for America's expenses. You don't get shit for free in this world and it doesn't take an economic genius to figure out that dropping taxes and then entering two frigging wars is not the brightest action possible.

And this is not liberalism, this is real fiscal responsibility - not the total immoral thieving bad-debt philosophy of the rightwing.

So this is what passes for a Republican response to a well-deserved loss after fucking up the country for six years and reducing the US to the most reviled nation on the planet?

I aplogize - you certainly don’t seem like the library type to me. Tell you what, you want to pay more taxes, WHAT’s stopping you? SEND them as much as you WANT! And if you favour estate taxes as much as income tax, you can do so in your will. Comment by valiant venus — March 2, 2007 @ 8:44 pm

I prefer to send your money - worthless c*nt.

I figure people like you ENJOY saying “I’d LOVE to pay more taxes….” Somehow, it’s reaffirming how much you can pay when other “little, lesser” people scrape by. (David Geffen made a similaR COMMENT.) Comment by valiant venus — March 2, 2007 @ 8:44 pm

What TF does that post mean, you st*pid c*nt? What re-affirms you, fcuking others so you can have another latte that you throw up in the starbucks bathroom?

I really enjoy people who belong to the “anything goes” churches…..I can see why you would be drawn to such a “congregation”. There’s a United church of Christ around the corner - very anything goes…. Comment by valiant venus — March 2, 2007 @ 8:44 pm

Whatever Toranimal. While you're fantasizing about murder, torture and mayhem, the rest of us are living in a civilized society wondering WTF your st*pid parents did to create a fcuked up monster like you.

Have a great weekend! Comment by valiant venus — March 2, 2007 @ 8:44 pm

WTF? Like you care about anyone but your st*pd c*nt self.

Listen up class,

Tax cuts do NOT reduce tax revenue always nor does it increase tax revenue always. Tax increase do no increase tax revenu always nor does it decrease tax revenue always. Huh you say???

Imagine that we reduced taxes to 0%. The government would then get $0 per year. Now imagine we raised taxes to 100%. At 100% the government would once again get $0 per year as no one would work for free. What does this all mean you ask?

Simple. You need to draw yourself a graph. Then you need to figure our the sweet spot for taxes. At some point taxes become to high and force people to work less or not at all simple because the return isn't good enough. If you lower taxes too much, you simply leave money on the table. So, lower taxes is not always good nor is raising taxes. THis is very tricky however to figure out if we are under or over the sweet spot. Technically, the smart move would be to play with the rates a bit and watch the results. If we currently raised the rates a tad and the markets, job growth, and spending all went down, we then know that we are over the sweet spot and reducing taxes would actually mean MORE tax revenue. On the flip side, if we reduced taxes and watched as our tax revenue decreased because of it, we then know we are leaving money on the table and we should raise taxes back up.

Basically, Dems and Repugs are never correct with their answers to these questions. It is false to say that ALWAYS lowering taxes means more tax revenue, but sometimes it is in fact true. It is also false to say that ALWAYS raising taxes means more tax revenue.

Thanks for your time class. YOur dismissed.
