Americans want redeployment.

By Payson Schwin on Mar 6th, 2007 at 5:01 pm

Americans want redeployment.

60 percent of Americans “want Congress to set a timetable to withdraw all U.S. troops by the end of 2008,” according to a new USA Today/Gallup poll. “The share of people who now call the war a mistake is 59 percent — the same as September 2005 and the highest level in the 58 times the question has been asked since the war began.”

    Hint hint,

Vote NO to the Iraq war money bill in front of you. That should have the troops home by 2008 for sure.

  4. Abby says:

    I agree with #2 Patrick1.

So what? Since when did this country revert to being “for the people, by the people”?

  5. ∞Ω says:

    Pat & Rog:

Good,I’m glad I have your attention.
You guys seem like ‘loyal’ foot soldiers of Bush/Cheney/Rove.
Just remember, loyalty to criminals is not a virtue.

  6. CONservative says:

Maybe Patrick should always post with one-word responses, that is actually the most intelligent thing I’ve seen from him, though our reasons are probably 180 degrees apart. Polls are about as useful at this point as non-binding resolutions. Congress must end the war-for-profit and impeach and imprison these sociopaths!

Abby, did you misplace your sarcasm key?

  8. Patrick1 says:

It has never been by the polls for the polls. If the surrender crowd believed these polls then why haven’t they voted to send our troops to Okinawa by now? Because they don’t want the responsibility of the outcome if they did.

Like all liberals they are deep down nothing more than cowards.

  9. Roger_Roger says:

#5 Why do you think I am a Bush party loyalist? What have I said lately that would even kinda make you think that? Please, list them.

  10. Zooey says:

I think the trolls are in panic mode. Wonder why……?

    Oh yeah. :-D

  11. Roger_Roger says:

#8 Your wrong, they are actually calculating that supporting the war will net them more politcal power/seats in 2008. Power seems to be the only thing the Dems and Repugs care about these days. Both sides will say and do whatever it takes to take more power. We the people simply get screwed.

Yeah cause we’ve all been told the bedtime stories of those war heroes Bush and Cheney…what, you mean they never served. Damn, looks like you’re wrong AGAIN P1!

Not really but I only agreed to the fact the public opinion means nothing in today’s America but for a completely different reasons.

I believe that our representatives (both wings) serve their corporate masters, not the people. Never forget where the $millions$ that get these people elected come from and never forget that there is oil under those sands and war, even on it’s own, is good for connected businesses.

At some point the bootlickers will say they were just following orders.

  15. ForTruth says:

    Roger,

Glad to see that you are noticing no real differences between the two parties. They both have wandered far away from the original mission, representing the people.

But 60% of DUHmericans do not want congress to defund Bushiva’s “surge”…

    “DUHmerica you ARE my bi*ches…

…I tell you what I want you to hear, then DO what I want to do…

…BORROW money in your CHILDREN and GRANDCHILDREN’s names…

…then turn around and STEAL IT…

…while YOU CONTINUE to drink my “good ‘ol boy’s” KOOLAID…

    …Thanks my SLAVE bi*ches…”

  17. veritas says:

Fascinating how predictable the trolls are (paid & otherwise) isn’t it? For openers, our child/troll patrick1 must only work part-time at McDonalds a couple of days a week (note his post times).

Tonight is a night of patriotic celebration since justice was served in the Libby trial. The next step is to take the sworn statements and reconvene the grand jury to indict DVT cheney! Just desserts for all!

  18. Clyde the Ripper says:

Speaking of redeployment, I have a redeployment schedule that will solve all of the Iraq and Iran problems permanently as well as a host of other malodorous manipulations of the minority miscreants.

(Now) Redeploy DUHbya, The Dick, and Killer Karl, et al, to Leavenworth to clean up the “Scooters” corner before he arrives. (Now + 1) Redeploy all the rest of Bushco to the local Trashco (aka jail, prison, lockup, dungeon, cell, pound, detention house, guardhouse, boobyhatch, calaboose, panopticon, etc).
(Now + 2) Redeploy the mouths of the other Rethug Pugs to a position where anything spoken but the truth will result in a seriously bitten tongue (This must be done after this first redeployment or the three stooges may suffer some serious manhood problems.)
(Now + 3) Redeploy the true Citizens of this Country to the position they rightfully own–The Boss!
(Now + 5) Redeploy all politicians that do not recognize “The Boss” to the unemployment line.

That should clear up things for awhile.

    Patrick needs a group hug.

A good job but your Now + 2 fails to mention that two of the three stooges may actually enjoy the action while the third would only get another clot.

    “Sorry again guys,

I forgot I am on the We Hate America First site. Let me restate:

Iran isn’ the problem! Iranians are peace loving people that are simply afraid of the evil Americans. I hope they build there nuke bombs so they are safe. Furthermore, they need to attack those Evil Jews in Israal. They are the real problem. America is horrible and I hope we all die in hell for how bad we are. Um, GO GREEN stop polluting and hug a tree already (GO Peta), Also, if you have time kill some more babies!! GO BLUE!!!

    Whew, now I fit in.

  22. hacker bob says:

So, 60% want the troops home in 2 years. OK.

52% oppose revoking the Authorization For The Use of Force

    AND

61% oppose denying the funding for additional troops.

What this poll says is that people are tired of Iraq, but not willing to cut the purse off, not calling for immediate withdrawl and that the Pres acted within his Congressionally authorized powers.

  23. Gregor Samsa says:

What Patrick1 needs is a redeployment to Kabul, or Baghdad (no, the Green Zone doesn’t count).

These moronic trolls are doing their best to keep people in harm’s way (as they pretend to “support the troops”) in a conflict that didn’t need to happen.

    Shallow, uncaring twits.

This coward, who served during Desert Storm and has noted your lack of service in the military would like nothing more than to beat your brave ass.

  26. Jay Randal says:

All the troops must be OUT of Iraq by September of this year > 6 months from now is plenty of time to withdrawal most of them.

  27. Raymond Funamoto says:

REDEPLOYMENT NOW!!!!! IT’S NOW OR NEVER!!!!!! GET OUR TROOPS OUT OF Iraq NOW, GODDAMNIT!!!!!

  28. Mugsy says:

And yet, Richard Engle had this to say on NBC Nightly News, Monday night:

“The insurgency [in Iraq] is laying low until they see if political pressure in the U.S. WILL HELP THEM WIN.
