CNN reports a verdict has been reached in the CIA leak trial of former White House aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby. The verdict is expected to be read in the courtroom at 12 p.m. ET.
Yes he gets a wrist slap. Probably 2 years at Camp Cupcake prison, where he will play tennis and swim in a nice pool. He might fold some laundry > lol. Or Bush just might pardon him immediately?!
For all the latest Libby trial news, legal documents, timelines and other essential materials surrounding the Bush administration’s outing of covert CIA operative Valerie Plame and its politics of payback against Joseph Wilson, see: “The CIA Leak/PlameGate Resource Center.”
The war in Iraq is not on trial here, just one of the architects of it.
A pardon would be as much of a justification of the war in Iraq as Bonnie excusing Clyde.
No matter the verdict, there’s no way to get past the real world damage this strategy of the Administration smearing any & all critics has done to US intelligence gathering capabilities
Valerie Plame’s job was to track and disrupt the transfer of WsMD to rogue regimes, groups and individuals, with Iran the focus of her attempts at the time of her outing
In the course of her efforts, she used a CIA front operation called Brewster Jennings, which meant that she had various dealings with undercover operatives, and double agents in other govts, around the world
So…..
How did outing Plame make this country safer as a result?
How did outing Plame make it easier to recruit the best and the brightest to help keep WsMD out of the hands of rogue regimes, groups and individuals?
When Plame was outed, it was inevitable that her CIA front of Brewster Jennings would be disclosed as well, thereby exposing all those undercover operatives and double agents in other Govts
How did outing Plame, and then Brewster Jennings make it easier to recruit the foreign operatives and double agents needed to keep WsMD out of the hands of rogue regimes, groups and individuals?
How did the Administration’s DELIBERATE outing of Plame increase the trust level between the White House and the CIA’s intelligence analysts?
Regardless of the verdict, the above questions still stand, since they cannot be answered in ways both logical and positive for the Administration
Wrong again. One would think that you would get tired of being wrong all the time. But, as Forrest Gump would say, stupid is as stupid does. And Patrick(IQ of 1), you are as stupid as they get.
Wrong again. One would think that you would get tired of being wrong all the time.

Patrick-the-talking-point-robot never gets tired of being wrong. Speaking of which, the robot’s clock needs resetting, since it has gotten badly out of time with reality.
#30 I was going to guess that Fox would not even cover it unless it was innocent on all five counts. I thought forcertain they would cut to scenes of mourners at Anna Nicoles Grave.
The guilty verdict on the obstruction count is critical. Cheney was involved in the obstruction, according to Fitzgerald’s closing statement. I won’t be the least bit surprised to see Fitzgerald convene a new grand jury, and call Dick Cheney to testify. Will he refuse, citing some unknown theory of vice-presidential privilege? Will Bush use his unitary executive powers to intervene. Will Cheney show up and plead the fifth, or lie through his teeth?
Not a lot of troll action on this thread. I expected them to be here yapping about criminalizing politics. They must be trying to get organized before bombing the thread later today with nonsense.
this is actually more important to dick than scooter. this shows how involved dick was to discredit the cias finding and how bad dick was pushing for the war in iraq and the deep deception he would go to get us in there.
You’ve been defending a multiple felon who compromised our national security as an act of partisan revenge and lied about it to the FBI. How does it feel to be an enabler of treason?
To bad the Bush policy hasn’t taken hold of the Justice System yet. Libby was only lying to protect Cheney’s crimes. He did his job of spreading the CIA;s name and fake WMD information. Some Americans who support the LIAR-IN-CHIEF feel Libby should have been found not guilty as lying is part of the Bush Policy. Justice is used only on lying on Dems not GOP. Someone never told the jurors in this case that the rules had changed. Now Libby can fake his death like Kenny boy and join him on the island until things cool off, or ask Bush for the pardon. Now this is going to be tricky as Abramoff, Duke, Skilling and Ney are waiting for their pardon too.
Gonzales is doing his best to fire all lawyers who follow Justice and not the Bush policy so Fitzgerald will be fired for convicting Libby.
TOO BAD WE DON’T HAVE Sammy Davis Jr. AROUND ANYMORE TO GIVE US AN UPLIFTING RENDITION OF “HERE COME THE JUDGE”! THAT WOULD MAKE Libby’s VERDICT AND READING OF THE CHARGES AGIN’ Scooter SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING AND LIVELY!!!!!
Guilty as ‘ell.
March 6th, 2007 at 11:35 amI don’t like it but I am going to guess that he will be found nto guilty. But as we all know from the OJ case, not guilty does not mean innocent.
March 6th, 2007 at 11:39 amCan Libby still give up Cheney for a lighter sentence?
March 6th, 2007 at 11:39 amTime to purchase that new pooper-protector.
March 6th, 2007 at 11:40 amAwaiting the verdict with bated breath.
March 6th, 2007 at 11:41 amI’m getting this bad feeling….

No, it means injustice.
March 6th, 2007 at 11:44 amIT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS. IF LIBBY IS FREE, EITHER BY JURY OR PARDON, THEN THIS IS A JUST WAR!
March 6th, 2007 at 11:45 amIts the new “Procto-protecto” for white collar criminals entering jail, who don’t want Bruce the cellmate to be too invasive on the first day.

IT’S NOT A JUST WAR.
March 6th, 2007 at 11:58 amguilty on all but count three.
March 6th, 2007 at 11:59 amGuilty on 4 of 5 counts. Fox news is already questioning the competence of the jury.

I say he should go after Cheney next.
PS. Joe Wilson, Valerie Plame Wilson and Fitzpatrick are patriots of the highest order, something the right knows nothing about.

March 6th, 2007 at 12:25 pmOkay Media, your job now is to continue asking the following question until we get something resembling a coherent answer from the administration:
“What did the President and Vice President know and when did they know it?”
