Liberals have really had some crazy ideas like: democracy instead of monarchy: end to slavery: end to serfdom; women can vote: education for all regardless of income; blacks can register to vote in Mississippi without getting shot; blacks do not have to give up their seats to whites: blacks can attend their state university; workers should earn more than $5.15 per hour; time-and-a-half for overtime; employer provides health insurance; employer pays for sick leave and annual leave; poisoning the air, water, soil, and food is wrong; meat should be checked for MadCowDisease; blood supply should be checked for HIV; savings and loans should be regulated; companies like Enron should be regulated; companies like Enron should actually pay taxes; etc. Do I really need to go on?

It’s time to kick the GOP off of the fence. You can’t have it both ways. The problem for the GOP is this. The party is made up of the bluenose bible-thumpers who, regardless of their personal demons, spout off about pornography and blame the “liberals” for allowing it to propagate. And it’s also made up of libertarians who accuse the “liberals” of trying to apply censorship for wanting to limit access to pornography. Never do the Republican bluenoses and the Republican libertarians point the finger at each other. And it’s high time somebody held their feet to the fire and made them face up to their gross hypocrisy.

And if you throw in the gay element to it, you just amplify that hypocrisy about tenfold. The Republican party is 99 and 99/100s percent pure bullshit. These people have so alienated themselves from the truth, they are utterly clueless as to the meaning of the word.

I agree conservatives should not be embarrassed. They should embrace the rainbow, and the 2008 Republican Presidential candidates should take this shining example of academic and sexual freedom on a speaking tour of the South… and Utah.
