A new Media Matters report documents how the 2006 midterm results have “had almost no effect on the guest lists of the Sunday chat shows: with the exception of ABC’s This Week, they’ve all continued to invite considerably more conservative guests than liberal guests.” Read the full report (and take action) HERE. March 12th, 2007 at 4:38 pmIn my opinion, anyone who is “progressive” or “liberal” (or intelligent for that matter) and who still watches television programming is a lazy fool.
With the developing internet, there are innumerable sources for both news and information that are easy to find and quick to access. And if you look to the “networks” for entertainment, you are mistreating your own mind and are willfully opening yourself up to the diabolical manipulation techniques that are imbedded in not just the commercials, but also in the programs themselves.
Other than not having access to the internet, there is no valid excuse for seeking meaningful information from “teeveeâ€. Such is both intellectually lazy and irresponsible.
I beg you to throw away your television and choose your movies/shows carefully and with at least some thought.
P.S. I worked for 11 years in advertising, public relations, and graphic communications with 4 of those years being with BBDO/Omnicom (at the time, the largest advertising group on the planet).

I use TiVo to record the series I like, and fast-forward through all the commercials. The only time I watch live TV is when there’s a debate or SOTU. It’s just so painful to watch Pres. Bush stumble through a speech, my partner refuses to be in the same room, it makes him ill to hear the mans voice.
I have a 37″ flat-panel LCD TV that doubles as my workstation monitor. I LOVE my gaming experience much more now!

I understand completely. One thing that I would like you to consider is the trust that you place in the broadcasters. I can tell you without reservation that such trust is misplaced.
I could go on for hours about just my personal knowledge and experiences that would rock you to your core. But just as a really quick “food for thought” item, one of you stated that 80% of Americans get their information from television. It is not non-related happenstance that the percentage of Americans who are obese is eerily similar.
Our brains are by far our most powerful and necessary muscle. Look at what Americans are feeding it. Or, in more cases than you can imagine, what is being force-fed to the brain.
