Justice Dept. silent on Rove role.

By Nico Pitney on Mar 12th, 2007 at 9:54 am

Justice Dept. silent on Rove role.

“A White House spokesman said yesterday that President Bush dismissed the call for Mr. Gonzales’s resignation. ‘The president…has confidence in the attorney general,’ the spokesman, R. Alexander Conant, said. … Mr. Conant referred questions about Mr. Rove’s alleged involvement in the dismissals of the New Mexico prosecutor to the Justice Department. In a statement, a spokesman there, Brian Roehrkasse, did not address that issue.”

Of course he does. Anyone who would defend Chimpy’s systematic dismantlement of the Constitution by advancing the argument that the Constitution does not explicitly grant U.S. Citizens the right of habeas corpus is a bona fide team player.

    Pete, Heather,
Get ready to ’splain some things.
We know Republipukes don’t like sunlight, but a door is opening on your dirty little secret.

KKKarl involved? NO! Say it ain’t so! A man of his stature would never stoop so low as to influencing our judicial system.

Hmmm, now where did I hear that in Nov? Ahh I remember the day BEFORE Rummie was forced out.
    Yipppeeeee!

That statement is the kiss of d*ath.

    Bye, bye Gonzo is gonzo’d.

    Whoopty-friggin doo!

  6. dlet says:

Gonzo has a serious case of not doing your job. It’s finally catching up to him. HE is supposed to defend the Constitution and advise the Pres when his decisions go against its meaning. He is not paid to be an Excuser for the Decider.

  7. PITY says:

Considering that Rove himself committed voter fraud in 2005 by voting in Texas when he should have voted in DC, I really don’t think he has any standing to complain.

Wait a minute…if memory serves, hasn’t the President (or his mouthpiece) said this sort of thing before? Often right before the person in question either gets fired or resigns “in order to spend more time with his family?”

If nothing else, one can at least hope…

    Two questions:
What is the role of the Justice Department according to you?

Which war are you talking about? Iraq, Afghanistan, War on Terror, War on Drugs? Which war justifies the dismantling of the Consitution?

Can you repeat that in the original German please?

My God, can you imagine a world full of such suppilicant puppets as this?

Firehead, I bet you are looking to the day where you can get liberals , Democrats and any of the other “enemies of the state” as Sean Hannity would call them to march sheepishly into boxcars.

  12. Zimzone says:

    dlet,
I believe Fireass is talking about the war on freedom.
It’s really the only thing Bushit & Co have done well. Sure, they’ll call it by another name, but the intent is to remove, purge or deny any entity or person, judicial department or otherwise, that pursues or discovers Bushit wrongdoings.
Fireass is at war. Did Fireass ever serve?
Oh, by the way, Fireass, the Justice department has already shut up…they haven’t said anything worth listening to in 6+ years!

  13. Jules says:

I, for one, agree with firehead. Where did you get the idea that you had the right to express your opinions? Oh yeah, it’s that GD piece of paper isn’t it? /sarcasm

Bush’s “confidence” in Gonzo says it all…

…why do Bush and Alberto, Rove and Cheney…

    …firehead and all conned’self-servative TRAITORS…

…hate the Constitution, rule of law, and democracy?

    Hugo Chavez is right…

…they’re all hypocrites, liars and demons…

…and Bush is definitely an “irrelevant political cadaver”…

Does anyone know how come the US AG is not an elected position? The Minnesota AG is elected so I just had a wonder and don’t have time to look it up for myself today. Thanks!

‘The president…has confidence in the …’

this is what they said about Rove when his lies were revealed… I guess we can expect he won’t fire Gonzales either…

The only role Rove will admit to is that he likes the Pecan Roll at the Stuckies in New Mexico.
