Kyl to block U.S. attorney legislation.»

The Bush administration has dropped its objections to Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) legislation that would subject all U.S. attorney appointments to Senate confirmation. But Roll Call is reporting that Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) is still “expected to object to the measure in one form or another,” after already blocking it once before in the past. (MoJo Blog and TPMmuckraker have more.)

    Kyl needs to be blocked…

    …in cement…

    …(make a statue of him)…

  2. Zimzone Says:

AZ sure produces a lot of pricks for legislators…
    McFlipFlop
    Kyl
At least Hayworth is gone; to K Street?

  3. dixie blood Says:

Does Kyl have something to hide?

    AZ?

    Duh?

  4. Innocent Bystander Says:

The WH is using Kyl to do their dirty work. They know it is politically untenable to do this themselves…so they use one of their reliable rubberstampers in the Senate. I’m sure Kyl is concerned with “separation of powers”…like they had to sneak in that amendment into the Patriot Act because it worked so badly for 200 years.

This is simply another corrupted power play by the Republican Crime Syndicate. They are using every political tool they can to thwart the will of the people to provide checks against this dictatorship.

Just remember Republics….the sword cuts both ways. All of the power grabbing precedents will be available to the next Democratic President.

  5. PatrioticLiberalChristian(PLC) Says:

Push for political records and criminal records. Legislate and investigate.

  6. Zimzone Says:

AZ is the postal abbreviation for Arizona.
Clearer, perhaps, I should have made it?

  7. RUCerious Says:

Is is any coincidence that Kyl spelled backward is lyk?

  8. Raven Says:

    long “I” sound, or short?

In Bulgarian lyk means onion. I bet you are glad to know that. Okay I need a coffee.

This a**wipe was just reelected so AZ has time to enjoy him.

  13. RUCerious Says:

dlet, is that where the word leek derives from?
Be right back, need to take a lyk.

  14. Mimir Says:

Given Kyl’s lack of credibiliy with the courts on constitutional matters, he may find that a block is the only way he can register his supposed separation of powers concerns.

  15. nofltwlt Says:

Kyl hasn’t gotten the message; Americans are tired of his and the GOP’s ultra partisanship.

It will be difficult for Kyl to devise a spin that would say Bush makes better appointments than would congress, given the fact that the nation is a tail spin because of Bush and people who blindly support Bush.

  16. VerbalKint Says:

The Republicans in Congress continue to preside over their own demise, apparently failing to realize that most of the country has turned against them.

  17. Raven Says:

Did the term “earmarks” arise from the practice of notching the ears of pigs to determine whose property they were?
If so, it all makes sense to me now…

  18. ForTruth Says:

I’m in AZ. I hate effing John Kyle. He’s one of the most lock-stepping boot lickers around. He is truly dangerous to our Democracy.

Close, mostly sheep and cattle at first, but, any creature with ears to “notch” or cut to mark ears counts…

  20. ForTruth Says:

Yes we at least got rid of Hayworth. He took forever to concede. Heh.

Kyle and McCain both gotta go now.

  21. Chris Says:

I would like to hear the troll argument on this. I mean really, what is the argument against having the Senate approve of appointments. It was always done this way before the Patriot Act, I don’t see what we stand to lose by continuing to require Senate confirmation.

  22. Zimzone Says:

    #14, Mimir,
    Thanks for that link.
I really appreciate getting the lowdown on Graham.
I’ve felt for a long time that he’s a guy who pretends to support while waiting for the right time to prey. (Like Specter.)

He appears to be asexual, but revels in his JAG status.

People, read that link if you haven’t. Kyl & Graham tried hard to bamboozle the SCOTUS. In fact, they did.

I also believe Graham would jump into the ‘08 race if he can find a way to gain an advantage over the others through lying, swiftboating or whatever.

None of these guys can be trusted, but keep an eye on Kyl & Graham, America.

It’s not “we” when it comes to Repugniscums! That seek unfettered power which does not involve “we.”

Make that two of us here in AZ. Kyl is a freakin embarassment, I remember one of his ads from the election last year, sounded like a fear-mongering spot right out of 2002…and oddly enough the lockstep talking points sounded like an accurate description of this fascist administration. The only one worse was Hayworth, should have never left the sports desk. Rick Renzi’s not too far behind though.

For all the latest news, hearings, legal filings and other essential documents on the Bush DOJ prosecutor firings, see:

  26. ForTruth Says:

Renzi is from my district. Ever see the video of Renzi on 9/11 outside going nuts, he has a mullet and an undershirt on. Seriously. I wonder if its on YouTube.

  27. rachel Says:

Yeah, I remember this smug SOB from Senate hearings. He was actually looking and acting delightful that he was once again blocking good democratic legislation. He got off on it. I could tell.

No, if it is on youtube let me know, I’d like to see that.

WOW. Great link, Mimir! Thank you.

  30. shano Says:

    hey forTruth & CONservative,
same sad state here. Kyle & Renzi. both Bush boot lickers.

Wasnt Kyle voted one of the top ten dumbest people in the Congress?
This move really proves he is just taking orders……brown noser.

Contacting either office is like bashing your head against the wall, they just repeat the right wing line, in lock step.
Cant believe we couldnt get Renzi thrown out with the Navajo vote, sigh.

  31. Raymond Funamoto Says:

Jon Kyl IS ONE OF THE MOST OBSTRUCTIONIST, DIVISIVE, NASTY, OBNOXIOUS, ODIOUS repugnant-repub rightwingnut crank fudge-pachyderms in the SENATE, and I AM TARGETING HIM TO BE REMOVED FROM HIS OFFICE WITHOUT DELAY FOR MAKING AMERICA A WORSE PLACE TO LIVE IN WITH HIS NOXIOUS BRAND OF POLITICS!!!!! GIVEN A CHOICE BETWEEN STEPPING ON A SLAVERING GILA MONSTER OR Kyl’s head WITH A STEEL-TIPPED HOB-NAILED BOOT TO CRUSH IT INTO SHREDS, I WOULD NOT HAVE TO THINK TWICE ABOUT MY DECISION–GIT ALONG ‘LIL GILA MONSTER, SCAT, SHOO!

  32. Tom Matarrese Says:

Heil Hitler Kyl ids a fucking piece of shit and when someone with balls investigates hoiw this bastard fixed the 2006 vote tally they could put him in prison for a long time!
