Very nice of him to do something like that, however I still find it creepy that these politicians have accounts on MySpace and Facebook.
Reading the blog, I still felt as uncomfortable as I do most of the time when I see these people on the actual airing of the shows. There is just something unnatural about it (clearly) and the politicians never seem fully at home or comfortable.
It just seems like another mask that they put on, another parade for the masses to gain more votes. I don’t know… it doesn’t feel sincere. At this point it feels like they just go on because they have to. And the line in Dodds blog, “…late night television has become a staple of Presidential politics.” So, it’s not really that he WANTS to go on, he just has to.
And I feel bad. He clearly doesn’t have a strong chance of winning, yet he still goes out there on a show where he can’t be very comfortable and at home. I just watch and think “What is the point?”
Maybe following politics has just made my cynical. I just feel bad for the guy, and don’t like some of the things that apparently need to be done to get votes these days.
Why the election in 2000 and 2004 was lost. Quite simply the Democratic ticket didn’t get the full support it needed because the “fringe groups” Nader, Greens, Kucinich et al, their “outsourced vote” was enough to tip the balance both times and now we are stuck with this Iraq mess and a mess at home too.
You “fringe” supporters had best buck up and decide if you want a Republican or a BONAFIDE “SUREFIRE” WINNER IN A DEMOCRAT next time in 2008.
“En Masse Unity” is what will be required in 2008 to bring this whole house of cards down forever.
In other words, stop “stealing” the election FOR THEM!
Sen. Dodd is a OK Senator, but he will never be elected president. The nominies for both parties are pre-selected and we the voters basically rubber stamp them. 2008 election looks like Hillary and Obama.
#4 I think Edwards will win the nom… and pick Obama for his VP its still a safe goodlooking youngish white guy with nice smooth brown hair. Obama, or maybe Hillary as VP will ’satisfy’ that feeling of “OH look how progressive we are!” Without much of anything really being accomplished.
Heh. I joined the Dodd Squad.
I hope he doesn’t mind.
