Percentage of Americans who “want to see U.S. troops leave Iraq either immediately or within a year,” a CNN poll shows. A majority of Americans “would rather have Congress running U.S. policy in the conflict than President Bush,” and believe that Congress “should block funding” for the escalation.
Why do the majority of Americans hate the country that they are?
March 13th, 2007 at 11:13 amFor this, you need to take a poll?
Newsflash: A majority of Americans would rather eat an ice cream cone than to have a sharp stick in the eye…
Please abuse me, enslave me, and steal my possessions.
March 13th, 2007 at 11:17 amThis number can swell to 100%, and it still won’t make a difference to Chimpy & Co.
Our government stopped being “of the people, by the people, and for the people” a long time ago. The difference with this administration is that the neocons don’t feel that the charade of a representative government is necessary anymore.
March 13th, 2007 at 11:20 amThen the 58% will have to amend the Constitution. Good luck with that.
March 13th, 2007 at 11:24 amThe report said that some historians believed that their presence had helped the United States to gradually professionalize the Salvadoran army and curb its abuses while avoiding a large-scale US military involvement.
A drawdown of forces in Iraq, The Times said, would be in line with comments made last month by Defense Secretary Robert Gates. He told Congress that if the “surge” failed, the backup plan would include moving troops “out of harm’s way.”
Such a plan would also be close to the recommendations of the Iraq Study Group, of which Gates was a member before his appointment to the Pentagon, the paper said.

You are implying that you don’t believe in Democracy?
What ideology then do you follow?
March 13th, 2007 at 11:31 amAmerican public wants the Iraq Fiasco War ended, but the Democratic leadership in DC are too cowardly to stand up to Bush Regime to cut funding and bring the troops home.
March 13th, 2007 at 11:47 amDid Hilter care what the citizens of his country thought about the heavy losses experienced in Russia?
Does Bush (who’s grandfather was a Nazi and, as a banker, financed the purchase of between 33percent and 55percent of basic war materials used by the Wehrmacht) care what citizens of this formerly great country think?
This is why We The People MUST take control of the country. The aristocrats and corporate elitist will NEVER feel our pain or care a wit or a nit about what we think.
That the Dems have taken investigation and impeachment “off the table” is only fuel to the fire of the crimes that have already taken place.
ITMFA!!!
March 13th, 2007 at 11:50 amAs this article makes clear, a surge will never work in Iraq as long as U.S. troops continue to illegally occupy Iraq. The U.S does not belong there and never did belong there. Our of Iraq now and bring the troops home- safely- now.

March 13th, 2007 at 11:50 amUnfortunately for the majority, the Dems are the unprincipled opportunist wing of the One Corporate Party and they have relingquished all authority.
March 13th, 2007 at 11:51 am#7. Democrats are making progress on the war and investigating issues every day. Unlike King George they are working within our rules of government.
March 13th, 2007 at 11:54 amHowever, should they not listen to the 58% who want the war ended, MANY of us will take our votes elsewhere or nowhere.
I believe in Constitutional democracy. The Consitution says clearly the President of the United States is commander in chief and will determine the use of American armed forces. Congress can cut the funding but that would then mean it would be Congress’ fight and we know that one of the most important tenants of liberalism is to not take responsibility for anything, so we know that will never happen.
March 13th, 2007 at 11:56 am#12 – I believe in Constitutional democracy. The Consitution says clearly the President of the United States is commander in chief and will determine the use of American armed forces…
How cute! A Troll trying to sound oh so scholarly. Yuck! You just don’t understand, and probably never will.
Buddy, it’s balance of power. Congress has the obligation BY LAW to grant the President the authority to wage war. Congress has the obligation BY LAW to regulate the flow of monies into the hands of the Imperialist Elite (like the Bush/Cheney Crime Families). Congress has the obligation BY LAW to restrict the projection of force when such force is NOT required.
ITMFA now!!!
March 13th, 2007 at 12:05 pmPlease, people, don’t confuse the chymp with facts and polls and such.
March 13th, 2007 at 12:07 pmChympin is hard work.
Sure they can cut off the money but that is all. And as stated, they won’t, because that would mean taking responsibility, no chance.
They don’t have the Consitutional authority to surrender the United States of America to the Islamo Fascists. Thank God.
March 13th, 2007 at 12:10 pm#14 – Please, people, don’t confuse the chymp with facts and polls and such. Chympin is hard work.
What? Did the spigot on the keg get stuck again? Or was it that someone used Emperor George’s cokes spoon and leave a little to much snot all over it?
You’re right, Chymp’n is SUCH hard work.
March 13th, 2007 at 12:11 pmI believe in Constitutional democracy.
Right. You’re lucky you spelled it correctly
The Consitution says clearly the President of the United States is commander in chief
Yes, but only has the power to wage wars authorized by Congress
and will determine the use of American armed forces.
See previous comment.
Congress can cut the funding
Damn straight
but that would then mean it would be Congress’ fight
False assumption
and we know that
None of the drivel below is relevant
one of the most important tenants of liberalism is to not take responsibility for anything, so we know that will never happen.
March 13th, 2007 at 12:12 pmLOL Patrick > only fascists around are the ones in the Bush Regime.
March 13th, 2007 at 12:14 pmWhen is the vote to cut off funding scheduled?
March 13th, 2007 at 12:17 pmEverybody against ‘timetables’ (or whatever we are calling it today) are morons. Didn’t it take 18 months to get our asses out of Vietnam???? THAT will require some planning.
March 13th, 2007 at 12:18 pmToo bad Congress (you know, controlled by Democrats) says at least 18 more months.
Why won’t Congress listen to the people?
March 13th, 2007 at 1:48 pmDon’t you love when someone quotes a poll but doesn’t link to the ACTUAL poll so you can look at the questions and actual stats for each question?
Come on TP, sloppy.

Use the google. And do you actually doubt the poll?

Because the GOP is run by fcuking lunatics that would rather starve the soldiers, than bring them home. They’d rather give lip service to supporting the troops, than actually give them the equipment or medical services they need. They’d rather hand over walter reid to an inept *private* company out of some misguided free-market zealot ideology, than deliver quality health care. They’d rather keep that free-market contract in place for their buddies, than admit privitization was a giant fcuking failure!
Why? Because the GOP cares more about how it looks, and avoiding the admission of any failures – than doing the right thing. That’s a personal lesson for you Bob that if you listen will guide you to be a better person. Most of your *friends* are beyond hearing any reason – you, I’m not sure about yet.
March 13th, 2007 at 5:56 pmWhen is the vote to cut off funding scheduled?
Comment by Patrick1 — March 13, 2007 @ 12:17 pm
When we know Bush won’t starve the troops out of spite, hate and for political ammunition. You fcuking coward c*nt.
March 13th, 2007 at 5:56 pmTHAT PERCENTAGE IS 85%, NOT 58%!!!!! THAT IS MORE LIKE THE ACTUAL NUMBER OF TRUE AMERICANS WHO WANT THIS MADNESS TO STOP AND THE TREASONOUS LOUTS WHO SUPPORT CHIMPya and Bushland Uber Allies, NAZI SCUM, TO BE PUNISHED–THESE ARE THE FASCIST SCUM WHO SAY THAT “the majority of Americans hate the country that they are”–THE MAJORITY LOVE THEIR COUNTRY–IT IS THE FASCIST/NAZI SCUM LIKE CHIMPya, Bushland Uber Allies and THEIR BLIND, DEAF and DUMB SUPPORTERS THAT THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS, LIKE ME, HATE WITH A FLAMING PASSION!!!!!
