I sruggle with ethics, don't think I don't. I was raised Catholic, but in learning of protestant ideas, I quit going and have lived in frustrated confusion ever since. So I don't fit with athiests or religious people very well. Still I have an opinion if you want to hear me out.

One thing seems clear... The need for moral judgement from the joint Chiefs is desperately needed. Nancy Pelosi is wrong. I may be taking this out of context. It's a bit gray. There is much fear by many that the attacks of 911 at the world trade center was an inside job (see www.infowars.com) It is put for that operation Northwoods back in 1962 would have seen the military bomb US cities to trick the American People to support a war on Cuba. All the Joint chiefs approved the plan. The Commander in Chief, John F Kennedy said NO! I believe the joint chiefs SHOULD hAVE exercised moral judgement in this situation, but didn't. Now we have a President that cannot even understand why torture is a bad policy , even if that judgement is not made on the basis of religion. So now Pelosi doesn't want Moral Judgement on the part of the Joint Chiefs? I believe the joint chiefs need to make moral judgement that applies to the MILITARY. Be thankful that the military keeps out of our civilian lives! When civilians deny moral judgement to Military leaders affecting how thier own troops must behave we have crossed the line... a dangerous line. At least if we insist that such people be allowed in, the option should be given the military on how to position these troops.

My own position, if given the duty to protect my people in combat would look something like this:

For years it was policy to have men only in combat position. When the troops returned from combat, they could go out and get sex in a civilian situation. Now we get situations such as rape of women, and peeps don't know why? One must become an animal in combat situations. Hormones including adrenaline run high. After killing a bunch of people, I'm sure rape seems trivial to some of these men. And the higher stress becomes, some snap. Some bad people get into the military and don't need the stress of war to do bad things. Why do peeps think that for so long, men wanted their daughters to stay out of the military?. Believe me I do not condone any rape. If I was in the military and some gay guy raped me, I would probably kill him. Is it wrong? God says that it's wrong to kill, so war is already wrong. I'm sure if war was enough to excuse a rape, I think I would be justified in killing my rapist. But situations like this are best avoided. That's why a tight knit group fights better and survives better. If women and gays must be in the military, let them have thier own units. Segregate them. If women want to be in the military segregate them. People want to say being homosexual is OK. I think to some its not OK and those people should be respected as well. If a straight person would object to a stranger of the opposite sex watching them in the bathroom, out of fear , why can't gay people understand how creepy it is for some straight person would be uncomfortable with a gay person watching, especially if that other person were twice as big or strong.

Ms Pelosi stated we need talented people, language skills and Patriotic Americans in regards to General Pace. Check out her bio next to General Pace. Politicians are a dime a dozen. This is America, freedom of speech, whether she agrees with General Pace or not, he has a right to his opinion like every other American!

Gays and lesbians shed the same red blood as any of us.They die, are injured ,survive in one piece, are discharged or continue their careers in the military-not unlike all of us who have served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and now Iraq and Afganistan. Keep moral judgements in your own pocket, Gen Pace.

Since when do we not need moral judgment from our leaders? Where would we be without the courageous moral leadership of Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King and others to overturn slavery and fight for civil rights for blacks in the US?

In his 1963 "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" Rev. King wrote, "A just law is a man-made code that squares with the moral law, or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law." This week General Pace is drawing the same kind of moral conclusion as King as, it appears, he looks to God's moral law for guidance. We need this kind of leadership in a society where it is becoming far more common to follow our passions, rather than an established moral anchor.

I'm thankful for leaders like General Pace. If we succumb to Rep. Pelosi's call to abandon moral judgment, we will only drift steadily toward the tyranny of what feels good at the moment - in other words, anarchy.

Wrongo, JPork. I have on occasion been slightly sarcastic here at TP - but the <em>real</em> problem was the teensy little name hijacker with the vulgar tone. Ifind the less I engage her, the less vile it becomes.

The powers that be might have to yank his latest little snippet of originality. Unlike you, TP, is not afraid of alternative opinions. They don't like to point out the Dems positive agenda, but I'm sure that's just around the corner.

I visited the Kucinich site and I'm surprised he has not gotten more traction - his positions seem right up the progressive alley.

I did enjoy having the SpeakeTTE take the "high" moral ground and let us know that anything goes.......a few of us suspected as much.

<blockquote>To read this so-called dialogue shows how far down the slope we are at home. It is so silly. Reminds me of high school girls fighting over boy friends. Who cares?
The general was out of line and should apologize, or go for retirement. He has the goodies already for retirement, and it looks like he has company walking for the exit. Has he any true plan for the troops? NO!
Have him go to Walter Reed and straighten out the moral problems there for practice. He should take care of military business. That is his job. His comments are strictly personal, although he can affect multitudes of people's lives by his attitudes and actions.</blockquote>

<em>Eargy - So Nan’s supporting homosexuals and their defining behaviour is not a liberal “moral” judgment…. (Pssst …this question is purposely NOT complicated…) Comment by valiant venus — March 13, 2007 @ 7:51 pm</em>

Pssst... Like you could ever ask a complicated question - BAH!

A st*pid quest - yep. That's all a st*pid Anorexic c*nt like you could ever ask!

Allowing people to make their own choices without condemning this is a form of *morality* indeed. One that an immoral and st*pid hateful venom filled c*nt like you wouldn't understand. But it's the morality of not-judging. It doesn't require you to *support* anything, except the rights of others to choose.

However your strawman proves that you support the rights of *bigots* to spew hatred and oppression against others.

Answer me this Might C*nt! Have you always been a self loathing homophobe? Or is it the result of you being so Skinny that you no longer get your monthly reminder that you're a woman? Perhaps you're on your way to a more *manly* life?

Whatever it is, your self-loathing is appropriate. You're a disgusting miserable st*pid c*NT!
