I spent all of my junior high, high school and college year summers swimming, body and board surffing, sailing and lifeguarding for the City of Los Angeles. My two summers during grad school were spent working in the west coast architectural office of the Santa Fe Railroad..

With a great uncle and two of my mother’s cousins being Presbyterian Ministers, we were baptized as babies and brought up to repect and live our lives according to the teachings of the Christed one. We went to church twice a week and to church camp every summer until we graduated from high school, I was a Cub Scout, a Boy Scout, an Explorer Scout and member of the honored Order of the Arrow. Neither my Church nor church sponsored Scout goups ever spoke of nor denigrated homosexuality or Queers. There wasn’t any talk of a homosexual agenda or lifestyle. These terms were created by the Falwell’s, Sheldon’s, Gingrich’s and other radical religious right wing bigots when they began their agnda to usurp the once respected GOP and planned their now infamous Contract “on” America.

With regards to Pace’s comment that homosexuality is ‘immoral’ and compared it to adultery,” homosexuality is not defined as being immoral in either the typical dictionaries or in the UCMJ. What is defined in the UCMJ as being an immoral act is adultry. By defintion, adultry is an act of infidelity between one or both members of a married couple with another married individual. Since 99% of homosexuals – both male and female- are prohibited by law from marrying, they cannot commit adultry. Thus Pace’s comment comparing the immorality of adultry with homosexuality is completely bogus and blatantly immoraly homophobic!
