Investigating VIP treatment at Walter Reed.

House investigators are looking at “whether the Army is running a plush ward at the [Walter Reed] complex for VIPs at the expense of ordinary war casualties.” The suites — which are reserved for high-ranking government officials and dignitaries — “have carpeted floors, antique furniture and fine china in the dining rooms.” The only enlisted members allowed to stay there are Medal of Honor recipients.

For all of you clamoring for “Universal” Health Coverage (AKA: “Rationed” Health Care), remember Walter Reed Hospital. The government which you would like to be “all thing to all people” is really only good at national defense, doling out infrastructure monies and convening committees.

Ahhh, yeah, that would be about right. Hubby is military, dad and grandfathers were too, and yeah, they would do that.I lived at a base where they spent over 250 million on a flag pole and had airmen living in squalor. Their housing was deemed substandard and the military had to PAY them to live on base. But the GENERAL wanted the flag pole. Completely typical

Listening to the right wing DUHmerican slaves…

    …calling in to C-Span…

…talking about how admirals, generals, and congress people SHOULD have special treatment…

…was probably the closest I’ll ever come to…

…eavesdropping on the conversations of house slaves…

    …trying to convince field slaves…

…of why “da’ massa been good t’ us”…

Maybe the best way to get information from the terrorists is merely to send them to Walter Reed.

You realize your own stupidity? If the same effort and money was used to mantain Universal Health Care (Rationed? Maybe is better the “be healthy only if you can pay for it” system?) as is used to pay for hi-tech can openers in the Pentagon, USA people would live 300 years, everyone in your country would be an Olympic Champion and eight feet tall.

Another excellent example of socialized medicine. Kind of like global warming; we are supposed to live in caves while Gore lives in his mansion.

  11. bs says:

i have an idea, shut the ‘chop shop’ down and give the vets universal healthcare card and then we the vets can go anywhere we want. the gov. officials can. and most haven’t worn a combat boot let alone seen one. so why put the vets on restrictions.

    fair?

Why not just say no enlisted personnel live high on the hog at walter reed. We will all understand that.

Patrick, stupider than ever before, mixes his straw man metaphors.

Patrick, I know you are deeply stupid, but please read the words and answer the question: why does every other developed nation on earth spend half as much on health care as we do here in the U.S., but acheives better health care outcomes by almost any quantitative measure?

Also, Patrick-the-chronic-liar, show me one example of Al Gore, or anyone else for that matter, advocating that anyone return to living in caves. If you can’t, then STFU.

  14. TripMaster Monkey says:

That’s funny….MA and Patrick1 shut up awfully fast after I posted evidence that the deplorable conditions at Walter Reed were, in fact, due to privatization, rather than socialization. Nothing like a good blast of light from the flashlight of Truth to send the roaches scattering.

With any luck, we won’t see them trying to post this same dishonest screed on other threads, but I don’t give them that much credit. Remember, in the future, if a troll starts yammering on about how the Walter Reed situation is an indictment of socialized medicine, just throw this in their face. It’s so much easier than trying to make them see reason.

  15. VerbalKint says:

The time is long past due for you to STFU, Patrick. You have nothing to say, nothing to offer, except the same discredited monotone talking points delivered with mind-numbing repetitiveness, yet without conviction.

Funny how the righties here use the word root “social-” to smear anything they don’t want, liking anything “social” to the political set of principles called “Socialism” aka(?) “Communism” (as they think is Communism). Really demonstrates how low is their cultural level, mixing grammatics, false sophisms and differring concepts.

BTW, Poo1, you’re antisocial, right? Guess so, given your hate for anything having to do with society.

  20. shane says:

Well if Bush had ever captured Osama Bin Laden we know he’d be in the plush ward getting his dialysis. That’s what friends are for.

    Patricknutless -
What are you some kind of communist or socialist. Al Gore isn’s allowed to take advantage of our capitalism. Oh that’s right only Repugs are allowed to make profits in this country. By the way your president’s tax breaks gave Al Gore way more money than he would have had under Bill Clinton. Most wealthy people who are Democrats say they don’t need the tax break.

Besides I thought you were going to the RECRUITING office to sign up for your tour of duty.
Wimped out again you little SISSY didn’t you?

  23. Jay Randal says:

Yes the upper echelon officers get special treatment at Walter Reed and if retired at all VA hospitals. Regular soldiers are mistreated and neglected because the Pentagon considers them to be cannon fodder.

  24. Evil Spaniard says:

Sheesh, now my duplicate comments have dissappeared. Both of them.

  25. Marie says:

Coming in late today – I was going to reply to VV and Patrick1 to point out the faulty thinking, but TMM got there first this morning and even provided a link. What privatization doesn’t kill, the lack of funding will.
It is immoral to see Americans going without proper health care for lack of money on their part and lack of will on the part of the conservative politicians.
We have trillions to spend on wars and rebuilding countries we have destroyed, but we let our own people suffer. Compassionate conservatives.

  27. valiant penus says:

hey mighty meth penus and pudrick one, things seemed to be going OK at walter reed before the mass exodus of qualified government employes because some smart person in the government whose hitting the same meth pipe that you guys are outsourced the jobs to a Hallabortion related company (the same guys serving our soldiers double digits per plate for rotting food), who couldnt even get ice to new orleans successfully. The problem is privatization, the exact opposite of what you grotesque closeted flaghumpers are trying to insist.
