Everyone whose written to this list has bitched about sloppy government paperwork at one time or another, it’s ridiculous to now claim that she was covert because she was classified as that even though she publicly walked into the CIA offices.

By going to work in public view she revealed herself to be an employee. That is why no one was charged with “leaking” her identity.

Valerie Plame Wilson testified UNDER OATH that she was COVERT.

You don’t KNOW about WMD’s in Iraq. But recalling the veracity of the mercifully dead Saddam Hussein, I CAN understand why you would put your stock in Wilson. Funny, the CIA had such poor intelligence when it came to Al Queda, but YOU believe everything St. Val and gang say…..

1.) Richard Armitage admitted to the ‘leak’, such as it was.
2.) A Special Prosecutor determined no ‘leak’ crime happened.
3.) A Senate panel (Bi-partisan), determined that Wilson lied, and Plame
recommended her husband for the trip to Niger.

OK, Liberals, won’t don’t you get about the facts?

The CIA said (and still says) that her identity was a secret. Ipso facto, it WAS a secret. Pretending or even proving that it wasn’t well kept or shouldn’t have been secret — if either is true — doesn’t change the fact that the CIA is an established “classification authority”. If the CIA labels the color of my socks Secret, then it IS a secret, regardless, and the national security laws of the country are supposed to protect that secret until an equal or higher classification authority decides to declassify.

Dubya had the power to declassify her identity if he chose to do so; but that’s not what happened. Classified information was leaked with political motives, and only LATER some argued that the info wasn’t SUPPOSED to be secret, wasn’t a well-kept secret, or whatever. Both excuses are irrelevant. (They’re probably false, as well, but who gives a crap?)

Nor does it matter, very much, which administration official leaked it. Somebody in the administration leaked it, and Dubya doesn’t give a damn.

I often read that Wilson is a “liar”; he lied about whether his wife sent him to Niger, some say. Whether he lied about that or not (I don’t give a shit), did he lie about WMD? Apparently he didn’t. He said there was no evidence Iraq was getting yellow-cake from Niger, and sure enough, there’s STILL no evidence Iraq got any yellow-cake from Niger. Because Iraq didn’t get any. Did he lie about informing the CIA of his findings? No. Did he lie about anything that actually matters? Not that I’ve heard, even from the right-wing bloggers.

Did Dubya lie in his State of the Union address? Maybe it wasn’t an outright lie; maybe he believed it — but he HAD been warned there was no good evidence for what he was saying.

That far outweighs anything Plame or Wilson have been accused of, never mind the smaller list of things they might be GUILTY of.
