Shouldn’t be much a problem raising money for a flip-flop artist like Romney. “what position should I take to get you attend my $500 a plate dinner?” I thought the Swift-Boaters were for integrity and honesty? hmmmmm
#7 No, I am not a hypocrite, I just don’t care. What amazes me is that TP and this crowd acts like they care. Do you honestly think either political party doesn’t take money from their rich friends? Do you think either party is immune to hiring and working with donors to their campaigns? This is why I don’t care because both sides do it with a smile on their face. What is funny is watching TP act like they care while they do the very same thing.
Roger_roger; Let me tell you a fact of life. Democrats are not an organized, homogenous, goose stepping military organization. Some of us think that this is evidence that Mitt is untrustworthy because he has undesirable associates. Yes we do care which people donate money to our cause and which people to our opponents.
I think the issue here is that the Swift Boat Veterans presented themselves as a group that wasn’t aligned to a political party. This suggests that this wasn’t the case at all.
Hell, we all know it wasn’t the case but at least they should have come out and said it.
“Swift Boat Veterans for Truth – backed by GOP funders.” It would have been more honest wouldn’t it?

Just like we don’t care about Hillary but you jerk offs think we all are voting for her. Have you ever watched Big Love on HBO. Romney may have more than just one wife. Its all big secrets with Mormons. That will look good on your ticket.
Well, Mitt is a well known war hero in Viet Nam who served his country honorably…unlike that Kerry fella. Didn’t Parry also serve with Mitt? Totally understandable when you look at the records of the Republicans who know what war is all about. Just look at Cheney and Bush…now those are guys who know what war is all about.
Doncha just love it — when Dems are in trouble, they “deserve to suffer the consequences” but when Repugs get in trouble, it’s “well, politicians are all the same – they ALL do it”
HERE WE GO AGAIN, FOLKS, WITH THE SHIT-SKID-SMEAR-MARKS THAT ARE THE HALLMARK OF DELUDED UNPATRIOTIC MENDACIOUS repugnant-repub rightwingnut crank fudge-pachyderm SWIFTBOATERS, WHO ARE A CROSS BETWEEN BLACKBEARD THE PIRATE and A YELLOW-BELLIED SKUNK ROADKILL VERMIN, WITH EMPHASIS ON THE LATTER TRAIT. “THE SCARECROW OF Mitt Romney MARSH” DESERVES THESE F*CKING CREEPS AND I SEE THAT Romney IS BUSY SCRAPING THE BOTTOM OF THE SCUM-SHIT-GARBAGE BARREL AND BUSY SEARCHING UNDER ROCKS FOR THE SWIFTBOAT VERMIN TO HELP HIM SMEAR-BESMIRCH-CALUMNIZE-INNUENDO/INUNDATE HIS OPPONENTS OF BOTH PARTIES–WHAT A SCUM-SHIT Romney IS, WORSE THAN THE SWIFTBOAT VERMIN HELPING HIM!!!!!
It is obvious that most of the comments here are typed in ignorance. It would be nice if people studied out what they said before they make fools of themselfs. Opinions are just that, opinions–not fact. Of course, all are entitled to opinions in this free country. So have at it.

It would be nice if you would actually contribute to discussing specifics of the story, instead of just pooh-poohing others who have. If someone is ignorant, have a go at educating them. If someone has confused a fact with an opinion, clear that up.
Not that it will matter to you (I suppose), but I resent your condescending, unhelpful remarks.
It really won’t matter what I say. My comments will be misconstrued. But just to start, I would figure that no one commenting here knows what Bob Perry went through in is decision to commit to Romney and judging him without that background seems a little harsh.
As far as Romney’s “flip-flops”, hasn’t anyone here (that has issues over Romney’s change of view) ever over time educated themselves to the point of changing a view? Especially critical life changing ideas. Cudos to you if you have and I am not going to hold it against you just because you did. Judging Romney’s changes to be only for political gain is just that, judging.
If anyone wants to know about Romney’s personally history so they really know what they are talking about, all they need to do is wickapedia his name or look at the campaine website.
He wasn’t in the military.
As far as the polygamy thing, should Romney be held accountable for what his ansestors did? He has said he doesn’t support polygamy. Do any of you (who have a problem with the mormon religion) know what all your ansestors were involved with? I bet many would be surprized to find skeletons in your family tree. Should Obama be held accountable for his father’s actions? (His father married three separate women and never divorced any of them as well as fathered children in and out of marriage.) I don’t think so. FYI: The mormon’s ended the practice of polygamy in 1890, that is 5 generations ago and excommunicates anyone who tries to do it.
Anyway, just hoping to enlighten and help the process of educating along.
…actual executive leadership experience of signficance. Add to that someone who communicates well with the media and has no skeletons in the closet (unless you believe that the acts of his ancestors 200 years ago can be attributed to him-which I find ridiculous). Romney did not inherit his success like many other wealthy people. He made his hundreds of millions as CEO of Bain Capital, a multi billion dollar company. Then he rescued the 2002 Olympics which were mired in debt and scandal. As an encore, he was elected as Gov. in Mass, balanced the budget there, and turned a billion dollar deficit into a billion dollar surplus, all in four years.
Obama is bright and charismatic, but has no experience leading any organization of any size, let a lone country of 300 million people. Clinton is famous and liberal, if that is what you look for in a candidate, but she is void of any leadership experience as well (unless you claim that she was running the show in the white house instead of Bill Clinton).
Romney has no drugs (Obama), sex scandals (Gingrich, Giuliani, McCain), or dubious transactions (Obama) in his past, so people are stretching to find dirt on him. The acts of his ancestors from the 1800s is a real stretch.
As to the flip flopping, every candidate has changed their position on one or more of the issues (McCain was against Bush’s tax cuts and is not in favor, Clinton voted for the Iraq war and now is against, etc.). Yet the focus is mainly on Romney, only. Fact is, Romney was on the wrong side of the issues, and is now on the right side of the issues, if you are a Republican. If you listen to the guy speak, he is bright, articulate, and sincere in the reasons for this conversion. He admits that he was on the wrong side of the issues . That is good enough for me. The fact that everyone focuses on Romney as the only candidate who has flip flopped tells me that this is about all that they can muster up to make his look like a bad guy…
Romney has the money, the backing in terms of endorsements, the management experience, and the motiviation to get it done in 2008. He flat out loves this country, and will not stop until we are back on top where we should be.
How dare he!

Rogerx2 & Jake, you guys are hypocrites.
March 16th, 2007 at 4:46 pmLet’s see, Mitt’s Grandfather had 12 wives.
That’s right, TWELVE!
I wonder how many were that age?
Shouldn’t he be going ‘down the Hatch’ to Utah or something?
Maybe then he could find the Burning Bush in the desert.
March 16th, 2007 at 4:51 pmA “mitt” is something one sticks one’s hand into the backside of, generally for catching balls.
A “mitt” is not pResidential material, despite all the king’s funding and all the king’s men.
