Cheney’s office involved in global warming manipulation.»

E&E reports that the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee’s hearing into Philip Cooney’s editing of global warming reports revealed that Cheney’s office also played a role. Kevin O’Donovan, an aide in Cheney’s office, wrote a memo to Cooney suggesting they try to “reinvigorate debate on the actual climate history of the past thousand years.” Waxman said the Cooney-O’Donovan memo “suggests active coordination between [White House Council on Environmental Quality] and the office of the vice president.”

Wow this administration never ceases to amaze me. Coverup after coverup, maybe they know it’s real, and coming soon. They plan to get their money now via robbing us with oil, and MIC profits.

  4. Pete_Bogs Says:

so THAT’S what the secret energy meeting was about!

  5. Alvord Says:

Waxman also asked CEQ head Connaughton to provide his committee with any other communications between the OVP and CEQ relative to the inquiry into global warming science manipulation.

Is there anybody that believes that there was only this one instance that came out in the hearing yesterday?

  6. Yikes Says:

This one should come as no surprise. Trouble is, the general public doesn’t care.

Someone in the White House Press Corp should throw that one back in Tony’s face

  15. Ben Dover Says:

I guess this must be another example of what Dumbya meant in 2000 during the campaign when he said that if elected he would “restore honor and dignity to the White House.” I guess the way he can honestly get out of that is the fact that he wasn’t elected.

Apparently Tony Snow does not include himself in the “most of us” category….

We all know Snow is a hypocrite, he will probably never own up to saying that.
Or say it is different because he now pleasures the, errr serves at the pleasure of the President.

    Typo. That’s “office of Halliburton”.

    Cheers,

  25. Farthead Says:

Global population is also expected to nearly double by 2050, that would mean that emissions would pretty much double as well.

    Think about that.

  26. R Says:

Dick likes to remain in the dark. The sunlight burns his flesh and interferes with his nocturnal feeding habits. It’s no surprise he dropped the ball in the leadership category or f*ed over the people in the process, either.

Cheney went back to the doctor today because his clot was bothering him. Seriously.

  29. shane Says:

Waxman on the other hand is making himself look brilliant. Taking no prisoners or any shit. Defending the scientist when the Repukes tried to make him look like a hack. And putting everybody in their place.

They said it was the same clot he went for last time, that the blood thinner was working but it would take time.

  32. impeachcheneythenbush Says:

For ANYONE who thought that electing Democrats to try to ensure a Democratic majority in the Congress wasn’t worth it, everything that has come out (finally!) about this administration should put that thought to rest. If nothing else, this demonstrates the difference between Democrats and Republicans…and NO, it isn’t just a “partisan” issue. These are facts that reveal the danger WE, the American people, have been..and continue to be, from this administration being in power. IMPEACH NOW!

  33. Liberty Lover Says:

Looks like all roads of corruption lead through the OVP. Doesn’t it?

  34. Evil Spaniard Says:

H3ll, Cheney is fascist, is corrupt, and evil, but he’s really a hard worker. He has been behind every smearing, swifboating, destruction of documents, spy outing and all that black stuff since day one!

  35. Jamie Kinstle Wapakoneta OH Says:

There is no such thing as global warming. If anything, it’s getting colder. Al Gore is just trying to get the hippy vote for when he finally declares he’s running.

  36. Garry Says:

  37. Roger_Roger Says:

It is so time we get over this deabte. I say just forget about the deniers at this point and move on to solutions. We are running out of time and all I here is more arguing. I congradulate the Dems for accepting Global warming is man made, but I wonder if they ever plan to do anything about it other then use it as a pawn to gain political points. This he said she said certainly doesn’t cool the planet any. The endless investigations proving Cheney doesn’t believe in Global Warming is mind boggling since we already knew he doesn’t. Why waste time gathering info that we the people already know unless this is just the start of another political show trial. Please please please Dems. Get your act together for humanity’s sake and start working on legislation that reducing America’s emissions and do it fast already. I think I speak for most Americans when I say: IT IS TIME TO DO SOMETHING POSITIVE TOWARDS ENDING GLOBAL WARMING. I really hope the Dem base starts to realize how little is being done. Then, maybe then, the Dems will get some force applied to them. They need to take the kiddie political gloves off and work on real legislation one of these days.
