“Thirty-nine percent (39%) of American voters believe Attorney General Alberto Gonzales should resign. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of 800 Likely Voters found that 31% disagree and say he should not resign while 30% are not sure. Fifty-three percent (53%) of Democrats believe he should resign along with 21% of Republicans and 42% of those not affiliated with either major party.”
So?
March 21st, 2007 at 5:09 pmI’m part of the 61% who are not sure or disagree.
March 21st, 2007 at 5:11 pmThat IS a pretty low number, and it doesn’t warrent a headline “Americans want Gonzales to resign.”
Patrik1, and Jake… why do you hang around here? You’ll never convince people who have opened their eyes to the truth to turn around and be blind sheep again.
Nor will you convince people who want to do good for the world to become evil bastards.
March 21st, 2007 at 5:15 pmAs an aside: if only Bush, me, and Barney wanted Gonzales not to resign, he doesn’t have to, right?
March 21st, 2007 at 5:15 pmMaybe we could use Gonzo for target practice.
March 21st, 2007 at 5:16 pm#5. No, use butt buddies Patrick and Jake
March 21st, 2007 at 5:19 pmI’m part of the 69% who are not sure or agree.
March 21st, 2007 at 5:20 pmAll slaves, sheep, stupid people and neo-fascists unite: We need better practice targets.
March 21st, 2007 at 5:20 pmIf Gonzales doesn’t resign then lying will become legal in the United States. All those who voted for him to stay are really saying all the criminals that lied under oath should be released because lying under oath isn’t a crime.
Next the new rules will be that if you don’t commit crimes ordered by the White House your fired. The Attorney Generals job is to protect the American people and serve Justice. Gonzales still thinks his job is council to the President. If the majority of Americans believe that we should remove the Justice System by keeping Gonzo then they want to stop the investigations in Walter Reed, CIA Leak, stolen money given to war profiteers and all the rest of the crimes committed by the White House.
Just let the United State have a Dictatorship and King George can continue to complete his crime wave and the dumbing down of America.
March 21st, 2007 at 5:20 pmWhat truth would that be dope?

Now you know how we felt after Clinton’s Senate acquittal. Once you get Bush lying under oath, let me know.
March 21st, 2007 at 5:26 pmMaybe Bush needs to commit perjury, suborn perjury and obstruct justice and the moonbats will like him like they did Clinton.

So much for your INDEPENDANCE, write Jake!!!!
Fat lying %&$#
March 21st, 2007 at 5:35 pmWait until they start to hear what this whole thing’s about: obstructing federal corruption investigations, trying to use the U.S. attorneys’ offices to change election results. The more Bush fights this, the more it gets out and the more people are aware of what this White House has been trying to pull. The “not sures” will move to the “agree” column.
And, by the way, Rasmussen polls are generally weighted differently than most others and tend to produce a more right-leaning result.
March 21st, 2007 at 5:35 pm100% of the bootlickers want him to be elevated to sainthood.
March 21st, 2007 at 5:38 pmJakers.
March 21st, 2007 at 5:39 pmLet’s start with his oath of office.
I’m part of the 61% who are not sure or disagree.

Funny how those numbers work. I hope you never get *audited* old man – or you’re going to prison!

So you only care about *lies-under-oath*? That explains why you lie with such ease – immoral twit!
March 21st, 2007 at 5:41 pmMaybe Bush needs to commit perjury, suborn perjury and obstruct justice and the moonbats will like him like they did Clinton. Comment by Patrick1 — March 21, 2007 @ 5:34 pm
You can’t commit perjury or obstruct justice on an immaterial fact that’s nothing more than a fishing expedition – idiot.
Firing attorneys and replacing them with cronies to protect other cronies from corruption investigations is *material* evidence though – dum bass!
March 21st, 2007 at 5:42 pmRemoveBush:
You don’t think any Democrats wanted Clinton removed from office?! How did Joe Lieberman vote?
March 21st, 2007 at 5:45 pmJake in 1974 Richard Millhouse Nixon said the same words at the start of Watergate. Just a break-in that had nothing to do with the White House.
March 21st, 2007 at 5:49 pmYou say Bush has never lied under oath your right he just lies without the oath. Remember the war was about WMDs then Iraq Freedom now it’s about Middle East control. I have a child in Iraq and the news is always late with the truth. Watching a fellow soldier die for the question that keeps changing might be ok to American sitting at home but for those putting their lives on the line is not ok. Nixon had a good front by speaking of power and leadership as does Bush. Clinton lied about an affair that hurt his family, Bush lied about Iraq, Troops, Spying and other crimes that ended in 3000 plus soldiers dying and more everyday. Trust in Bush if you choose but when the lies start effecting you, you’ll understand how the rest of the country feels. Impeach Clinton for an affair and let’s see other Presidents in office that were having affairs. Eisenhower, Reagen, Bush Sr. John Fitzgerald Kennedy and Clinton. All should have been impeached because of personal affairs that didn’t involve their jobs. But as you say Jake thousands of young soldiers are dying, our DOJ system of Justice is gone, CIA agents have no protection, Americans are being spied on illegally and the US Treasury has given a blank check for spending to war profiteers. Our injured Soldiers are treated like trash as the GOP says Support our Troops. Bush still wants to send troops in with no proper supplies even injured troops have to go back. Your right Jake Bush is doing what’s best for Americans and Clinton destroyed America with that affair. But Daddy Bush has had a girlfriend long before he got to be President with Barbara’s approval as Ex President Bush said on the Barbara Walters Special during an interview. Now Daddy Bush is publicly stalking Terry Hatcher and he’s proud of it. Try watching some Basketball games with Texas and listen to the questions he asked Terry’s co-star Gabby of Desperate Housewives. Dumbing down of Americans works Bush is doing a great job at that.
Jake: Now you know how we felt after Clinton’s Senate acquittal. Once you get Bush lying under oath, let me know.
First have to GET him under oath. Clinton testified under oath. Something like 37 of his aides testified before Congress under oath. What is your reasoning for Bu**sh**’s offer to have his people testify in priovate, with no oath and no transcript?
March 21st, 2007 at 5:54 pmAbu Gonzo should have resigned the day after he was sworn in…
…his torture memo and habeus corpus remarks…
…slavish devotion to Bushiva…
…ALL make him the most dangerously POLITICAL AG this country has had the misfortune to have…
…and ONLY 39% think he should resign…
…far too many DUHmericans for me…
…with this many IDIOTS voting in America…
…our Democracy is doomed…
March 21st, 2007 at 5:56 pmJackie:
We obviously disagree about Bush lying, our DOJ system of Justice is gone, CIA agents have no protection, Americans are being spied on illegally and the US Treasury has given a blank check for spending to war profiteers.

I’ve posted by entire reasoning in multiple threads. Short version: Separation of Powers.
March 21st, 2007 at 5:58 pm#2 That’s probably the only thing you’ve typed on these boards that is relevant. I’m not particularly impresed with 39% of anything. 39% is what you get when you have a strong third option.
March 21st, 2007 at 6:00 pm“Separation of Powers”? That’s a reason that the President would offer to allow his aides meet with members of Congress BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, WITH NO OATHS TAKEN AND NO TRANSCRIPTS???
How does “separation of powers” account for the differences between these two situations:
Oath vs. No oath
Transcript vs. No transcript
In public vs. In private
Or is “sepatration of powers” just what they told you to say at this morning’s meeting?
March 21st, 2007 at 6:06 pmThanks, DM.

What meeting? I’ve been posting about Separation of Powers for a week now.
March 21st, 2007 at 6:14 pmSeparation of Powers: Critical constitutional issue when a corrupt ref*ckituplican thug is facing justice; of no importance when a dem president is being hounded by a bunch of running-dog lackeys…
March 21st, 2007 at 6:18 pm39% of ill-informed Americans want Gonzalez to resign and you use the headline “Americans want Gonzalez to resign”.
once again, partisan hack in full display. poor idiots that run this site, so blinded by hate and partisan politics. if it was 51% of polled that wanted him to resign i would agree with the headline, but 39% say yes and 31% say no and you use such pathetic, partisan headline…..
wow…the level of stupidity on this site is incredible, fun to read these threads and forums, they make my day go by fast.
March 21st, 2007 at 6:21 pmJake: What meeting? I’ve been posting about Separation of Powers for a week now.
No answer to my question? I’ll repeat it:
How does “separation of powers†account for the differences between these two situations:
Oath vs. No oath
March 21st, 2007 at 6:24 pmTranscript vs. No transcript
In public vs. In private
I have to say I agree with the trolls on the headline, though…
badly phrased, conveys a false picture of the survey.
March 21st, 2007 at 6:25 pmIn case you needed any more justification for Gonzales’ departure, see:
March 21st, 2007 at 7:10 pm“Top 10 Reasons Why Gonzales Must Go.”

March 21st, 2007 at 7:12 pmI was middle age when Nixon got impeached I know it’s hard to believe that a Republcan President resigned rather then have to be under oath for the crimes committed. We’ll see if the Nixon play book works out this time. With supporters like you Nixon would have been our first Dictator.

I answered your question on another thread.
Jackie Rawlings:
I was middle age when Nixon got impeached I know it’s hard to believe that a Republcan President resigned rather then have to be under oath for the crimes committed.
Is that one sentence, or two? Do you think if Bush gets impeached that he has to testify in his Senate trial? I’m really trying to follow you here, but I’m sorry I can’t. I will tell you I don’t think Bush committed any crimes, is using Nixon’s play book, or that with supporters like me Nixon would have been our first Dictator.

March 22nd, 2007 at 12:55 amResign? Are you people kidding?
g. w. is polishing the Medal of Freedom for him as we speak.
It is going to interesting to see who replaces gonzo (if indeed he goes). It’s not like congress is going to let another butt-kisser to become AG. And the number of crimes waiting in the wings is staggering. If we do indeed get a half-way decent AG bush&co will spend a hundred lifetimes in jail.
March 22nd, 2007 at 9:55 amCome on people, what all of this is about is damaging further an administration that is so far out of wack with not only the people that did not vote for him, but but also the people who did (me being one, both times). Presidenr Bush has brought all of this negative out-fall on him self, one bad decision after another and a constant
April 5th, 2007 at 11:39 pmmove against the grain of the tax paying people he works for has caused 70% of people in this country to loose faith in his ability to lead in a presidential or decent manner. Lets face it, his failure has caused the dems to come back into power for now and in the future.
