First of all, executive privilege is a constitutional device designed to protect the executive branch from exactly the endless fishing expeditions that one party seems determined to carry out. There has been no crime, only actions carried out by one branch which the powers in another branch don’t like. Perfect example of the need for executive privilege. Obviously, if you grill someone, anyone under oath long enough (and endlessly, boringly enough) you will uncover inconsistencies. Did he lie? sounds like he did. It seems to me he lied rather than just say (as he should have) “that’s none of your business” or “of course I had involvement in this process, I’m the AG”

Second, how in the world can you change your moral attitude from “there has been no evidence” (even after there is clear evidence) to beleiving every conspiracy theory presented. 9/11- a Bush plot (that would require unbeleivable logistics and the cooperation of our enemies. and this from an incompetent idiot), WMD’s -Bush lied (let’s ignore the fact that these “lies” were foisted on us unanimously by every US official on both sides of the isle, during Democratic party regime, and every other country that cared about it before anyone outside of TX even knew who GW was. ) Regardless, “Bush Lied”.
No WMD’s? Let’s forget for a moment that Saddam had plenty of time to do something about that, or the fact that some were found, (how many WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION do you need to be a threat?)
The most simple way to state this case is through pure logic.
A) if you have them, you may or may not use them
B) if you don’t have them, you can pretend that you do and pretend to be in position A
C) (most important) if you don’t have them, even if you pretend that you do, you CAN’T use them (you don’t have them, remember?)
So the question to those of you who will not see is, if there was no WMD’s, how did Saddam manage to use them?

Third, I have to beleive that (most of) you guys know all this to be true, yet you choose to beleive the irrational. Why?

Because, I think (hope) that if you could just honestly answer that we might have a chance of meaningful dialogue, not just mean (useless)

Also if, as I suspect, you are simply playing political hardball, the consitution protects us all from what our gov will become w/o it, don’t be so willing to change it according to political winds as they always change direction.

Please don’t answer with psycoanalysis or cherry-picking certain phrases, but rather, please try to honestly answer all the above ideas,
I remain hopeful and curious for intellectual (honest) but not hateful, paranoid debate, have no fear the constitution protects us all. Thanks.

First of all, TP has already let you put up what you call “the Democrats’ (apostrophe is needed) on this issue.” Secondly, can you prove you are not a partisan hack by posting the Repub flip-flop on neo-CON or other rightwing websites? I have heard that such websites usually ban contrary views.
Finally, it would be a waste of my (and probably other people’s) time to try to argue with a biased jerk who ridiculously claimed on another thread that all liberals go around with Little Red Book by Mao Zedong (with the name spelled incorrectly) and cherish it above the Constitution.
