Politico: Edwards to suspend campaign.
“John Edwards is suspending his campaign for President, and may drop out completely, because his wife has suffered a recurrence of the cancer that sickened her in 2004, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, an Edwards friend told The Politico.”
UPDATE: CNN reports that the Edwards campaign says this report isn’t true, but doesn’t specify which elements aren’t true.

And of course, this is after the right tied itself in a knot over liberal commenters on this site and others making comments regretting that the suicide bomber targeting Cheney in Afghanistan did not succeed. Firehead, of course, is just a troll, but I’m waiting to see how conservative blogs and their commenters react. I’m hoping for a similar uproar if there are any comments parallel to that of firehead on the conservative blogs.

If you’ve ever seen a cancer patient go through hell with chemo and treatment, the stress and pain it inflicts not only on the patient, but the family, friends, and EVERYONE around you, and then to have patients die after going through that? I have seen this happen dozens of times, if not hundreds since i started here. It makes me think of the war in Iraq:those who have no idea what war is like, the brutality, the killing, the second guessing, the pain, the agony of losing some sort of control over your life;these are the ones praising bush and his war and saying such STUPID things about cancer.

When Cheney goes to the hospital, it’s all “let’s hope it’s the BIG ONE.”
When a Democratic candidate’s wife’s cancer relapses, which is usually not as immediate a threat to life and limb as heart problems, it’s “blame the Repugnicans” for giving us a taste of our own medicine.
I’m not defending some of the obviously repugnant comments posted here earlier, and I genuinely wish Edwards’ wife successful treatment.
Just pointing out a bit of irony.

Translation for this “agree to disagree”, means the CON is incapable of facing “facts”, so he denies that you possess them and you don’t, and refuses to further entertain the subject. This is the biggest “cop-out” and “weasel-word” and “wimpy-response” that the impotent right can give, but that’s all they’ve got… You can agree to disagree all you want Jake, about anything, it doesn’t change the FACTS that you’re WRONG – dum bass.
