J. Steven Griles, the “former No. 2 official in the Interior Department,” today “will admit lying to the Senate about his relationship with convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who succeeded in gaining the official’s intervention at the agency for his Indian tribal clients.” “He is the 10th person — and the second high-level Bush administration official — to face criminal charges in the continuing Justice Department investigation into Abramoff’s lobbying activities.”

Oh, that house of cards is falling!!!!
March 23rd, 2007 at 11:07 amHe is the 10th person — and the second high-level Bush administration official — to face criminal charges in the continuing Justice Department investigation into Abramoff’s lobbying activities.
But not the last. A previous poster asked if the R investigation was continued after Lam was fired by Abu Gonzales. NO! But, this is still fallout from Gale Norton & Gonzales lying to Tribal entities.
Actually, the first USA fired was in Guam, investigating the Mariana sweatshop / sex factories visited by DeLay & set up by Jackoff.
Nice guys, eh? If anyone of you dipshit trolls think Abu Gonzales has not obstructed justice you’re further gone than we thought.
March is clean up month. Let’s throw Alberto on the curb with the other garbage. Maybe the garbage truck will head to Gitmo…Al needs a little R&R. You know, waterboarding, electrodes, feces facials, the works!

March 23rd, 2007 at 11:17 amYet more evidence that this administration lies to Congress. This is the same guy that Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton cleared of any wrong doing. There are how many administration folks in jail or before the court at this moment in time? Please tell be because i have truly lost count.
Yes, but you can believe Rove and Harriet. Closed door, no oath, no transcript, and no lies…. Now that’s funny.
What would the GOPers have done if this was Clinton’s “generous offer”? Can you even imagine?

March 23rd, 2007 at 11:25 amAbramhoff may be spilling the beans right now:
“Former Republican super-lobbyist Jack Abramoff, sentenced to almost six years in prison for his fraudulent purchase of a South Florida gambling fleet, can receive a reduced sentence if he continues to assist prosecutors in a far-reaching Washington public corruption probe, federal officials said Wednesday.”

One day and hopefully soon, an unlucky staffer will plead guilty to these wrongdoings and will not be “loyal” enough to keep his mouth shut about the really dark things… And the House of Bush will come crashing down…
But I may be dreaming. I can still dream can’t I?

You guys rock. Now could you do just a little something about the trolls - some kind of troll flag maybe.
March 23rd, 2007 at 11:36 amRoger, a large breasted pink elephant, offered to drive Alberto to the Mariana Islands, but neglected to plan for the fact 2,000 miles of water stood between them & their destination.
Roger, just drop Al off in Mexico. Tom DeLay has some time on his hands, & wants to play some golf at a cheap course, now that he’s unemployed. (He shouldn’t need his glasses for this one.)
March 23rd, 2007 at 11:38 amJack Abramoff on the Left: “It is not our job to seek peaceful coexistence with the Left. Our job is to remove them from power permanently.” - No wonder the GOP likes him so much! Bush doesn’t seem to know Jack Schitt, but I’ll bet dollars to donuts he knows Jack Abramoff.
If you can’t see how big the picture is perhaps you’re standing to close to the picture.

March 23rd, 2007 at 11:55 am“Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!”
-The Wizard of Oz
“As America moves through the second Bush term, few aspects of life in this country have not been affected by Karl Rove, and his profound influence on the president and his policies. He is the political mastermind of an administration that has preached compassionate conservatism, but has practiced something considerably different. If Karl Rove were not sitting in his office in the White House, there might not have been no war in Iraq; there would be underprivileged children still attending Head Start programs, which have been reduced or eliminated; there would be low income families getting health care from the Childeren’s Health Insurance Program, instead of going without because of federal cutbacks in funding; there would be competitive bidding contracs to rebuild Iraq instead of delivery of deals to Halliburton and other companies that are GOP fund-raisers; there would have been no California recall; there would be congressional districts with lines drawn to help elect minorities; there would be a complete and honest report from the 9/11 Commission; there would be real accounting of Saudi Arabia’s involvement in acts of terrorism; there would be real funding for Homeland Security’s First Responders; there would even be more people with jobs; half of $87 billion requested for rebuilding Iraq might be used to implement full coverage health care for every man, woman, and child in America. And sadly, none of this is overstatement.” (Source: Rove Exposed: How Bush’s Brain Fooled America)

And why do the Repugs hate America? They wouldn’t go after them in Afghanistan because there was no oil and thought Iraq would be easier anyway. And now they have created more terrorists all over the world. So how’s that working out for you guys? (and the rest of us have to pay the price.)
March 23rd, 2007 at 12:00 pm#25 - so I guess Clinton created the 9/11 hijackers by your theory thinking.
Republicans love this country. AND the last time I checked, America hasn’t been attacked since 9/11. AND no thanks to anti-wiretapping, anti-torture liberals like yourself. You hate civil rights for Americans, but you want thme terrorists. SICK.
March 23rd, 2007 at 12:06 pmI have absolutely no evidence — and I will guess, without ever checking to see, that it’s in fact probably the opposite — but I will say that Clinton did it too. I also have absolutely no evidence — and, again, I would guess it’s the opposite — that all the liberals out there defended Clinton when he did it too (though, again, I have absolutely no evidence he did), and therefore all those liberals are hypocrites for cheering this conviction.
Now: everyone quote these parts: “Clinton did it too” and “all the liberals out there defended Clinton when he did it too”. Just ignore the parts where I said anything like “I have absolutely no evidence.” Get Drudge to put it on his website, and see how quickly major news productions parrot Drudge. Voila!
Now, for the best part (for me, of course; that’s why it’s the best part): get someone like Richard Mellon Scaife to please pay me thousands of dollars now that I have met his funding criteria.

That’s just plain stupid to say that because we have not been attacked that the war in Iraq is preventing it…….
MORON!!!
It was over 8 YEARS from the 1st FALSE FLAG attack of the WTC to the second, so a little over 5 years of not being attacked is not a sign that Bush has done ANYTHING!!!!
But you don’t mind the fact that only after 3 weeks in office Bush was setting up all these spy rooms….. So was he able to read the future to know that he would need these spy rooms?????
He was a CRIMINAL FROM THE START!!!!
March 23rd, 2007 at 12:12 pmIt’s about time this guy was convicted. I wondered why it was taking so long. I saw this guy on C-Span, testifying before Congress. It was SO obvious he was lying. He looked scared to death and his face turned bright red, while he tried desperately to lie his way out of illegal and unethical behavior. A ten month jail term isn’t long enough, however, by far. I would have liked to see him take the whole 5 years; might help discourage others from this kind of behavior.
Liberals Heart Terrorists…why do your kind always insist on setting up strawman arguments that have NOTHING to do with the topic? Oh yeah…because your kind has no reasonable defense for others of your kind. So your only option is an attempt to distract.
March 23rd, 2007 at 12:12 pm#26
No, Clinton warned the Bushco Cabal over 40 times about 9/11 potential situations and they were all ignored by Sec of Shoes Rice and Rummy and Dubya. And they were mostly from Saudi Arabia, not Iraq, which last time I checked, was the country we illegally invaded and are now occupying, during a civil war.
As for the Anti-wiretapping, I actually love America and the constitution, which you Repugs have used for toilet paper. Good to get some adult leadership back in this country before you 29%ers totally destroy it!
