Bush stands by Gonzales.

White House counselor Dan Bartlett tells MSNBC that “Bush continues to support [Attorney General Alberto] Gonzales despite the latest disclosures” about his role in the U.S. prosecutor firings.

Bush supported all his former employees right up until they ‘resigned to spend more time with their families’…

Could it be any more clear folks? I mean……it’s time isn’t it……to put Bushy in his place? That place is prison. I am outraged by what this monster has done to all of us over the past 6 years. He is a traitor. He is a criminal. He is not an American. Time to oust him.

In the end, people aren’t going to give a shit about GOP US Attorneys being fired by GOP operatives so Karl Rove can have “his people” in place in 2008 prior to the election that will sweep the Republicans out of office for a long time. What they do care about is the lies of this Administration. Rove knows his only real hope in 2008 to get Jeb Bush elected is to claim “voter fraud” against Democrats. Rove should be concerned about getting Bush’s approval rating to at least half of what Clinton’s was.

I think Bush missed his true calling, he would make a great televangelist. Given all the God talk he spouts, the money he is able to raise, and laws he is willing to break – he seems perfectly suited for the job.

  10. stonehinge says:

    AboveTheClouds,

Since Bush has never done one positive thing during his tenure, except “shake his pom-poms” at the WTC, how exactly do you think Rove can get that approval up?

  11. NuWay says:

I agree with S Chimpy should be thrown in jail. Six feet under would be great too! How far will the chimp go before the american people realize it’s time for him to go? Who would have guessed the damn chimp would get away with so much! What’s wrong with this country! Time to toss away with the chimp!

I’d agree with you, Evil, but all the televangelists that I’ve seen have at least all been able to speak in public with some eloquence and style. I’m afraid Chimpy’s struggle with English language pronunciation and word choice would not let him rise above a local cable access show in that arena.

Hell, it should have kept him from rising above that level in the political arena too.

If someone came into your place of work and asked you about something that had happened a couple of months ago, what would you do?

Probably go back over your notes, look to see what records you might have and other things to refresh your memory.

Perhaps I’m wrong, but I’ve got to assume that lawyers are particularly anal about this, and about having paper trails about these types of things.

With all of that as a backdrop, can this guy actually be THAT stupid?

Congress is looking into this. You state, unequivocally that you were not involved. Hard to dodge the issue when your response is two short sentences.

He then gets tripped up by his own emails, and other’s emails.

If this guy is actually that stupid, I don’t want him as AG because he’ll never prosecute anyone successfully.

I bet George W. Bush is playin’ Tammy Wynette’s, ‘STAND BY YOUR MAN’ right now.

George, I suggest you play another Tammy Wynette song: ‘D-I-V-O-R-C-E.

Get rid of Alberto. I’m not speaking in marriage terms, but in political terms. You hired this bum, and fire him.

George W., country songs suit your adminstration so well. LYIN’, DRINKIN’, CHEATIN’, GOOD-FOR-NOTHIN’ MEN. Nashville songwriters never had it so good. Country songs are all about lyin’ and cheatin.’ That’s what your administration is all about.

George, if you get tired of hearin’ Tammy, play a little of Kenny Rogers.

‘YOU GOTTA KNOW WHEN TO HOLD ‘EM, AND WHEN TO FOLD ‘EM.

    With Alberto, fold ‘em.

Bush is having his mental breakdown live, on coast-to-coast national radio and television. I swear to God, I think he really is. Maybe the American people will have to have an intervention for the Chimp. Send the men in white with butterfly umbrellas and syringes loaded with thorazine.

George W. Bush stands firmly behind Alberto Gonzales, not because he actually believes a thing the AG has to say, but because Gonzo has a warm, round, firm ass and it feels good to rub against it.The AG is there “to serve, at the pleasure ” of the President.
“Mmm… You know- Laura doesn’t do THIS for me, Gonzy, baby! Now, move that thang”!

  28. EvilPoet says:

Bush is having his mental breakdown live, on coast-to-coast national radio and television. Comment by R

It’s not really surprising – the indications were always there.

The Smirk: “Long before he led our nation into war, George W. Bush exhibited an appetite for destruction. As a child, Bush inserted firecrackers into the bodies of frogs, lighting the fuses and blowing the creatures up. As president of his fraternity at Yale, he used a branding iron to maim young pledges. As governor of Texas, he was observed smirking over the executions of death-row inmates, many of whom were later found to have received inadequate legal protection. Bush’s tendencies toward sadism now play out on a bigger stage, with more resounding results. He orders bombings in Baghdad and proudly shows off the horrifying photographs of the bodies of Saddam’s sons, almost daring the world to look away. He gets an even larger audience for the video footage of Saddam Hussein’s humiliation in captivity, then demonstrates a very personal sense of triumph at his capture and glee at the prospect of his executions. Closer to home, the self-proclaimed “master of low expectations” behaves more like a master of dashed expectations, raising voters’ hopes that he will demonstrate the compassionate side of his advertised brand of conservatism, then silencing them with righteous indignation when he repeatedly refuses to make good on his promises.” -Justin A. If someone came up to you and asked you about something, rather major, that had happened in your office, what would be your first reaction? You’d go back, check your notes, emails, etc. Given the work of lawyers, you’d assume that they would be especially anal about this type of thing.

You have someone who is supposed to be the TOP law enforcement agent in the government. He is supposed to be extremely intelligent. He has shown, during other investigations, that he is EXTREMELY aware of the words that he chooses to use.

So how do you go in front of Congress and make a very clear cut statement that you weren’t involved in the firings, and THEN it comes out that you’ve had meetings in your office and there are various emails that YOU’VE sent that say that you WERE involved?

This behavior wouldn’t be acceptable from a cheap criminal off the street. Why should we accept it from our TOP law enforcement officer?

Right now I don’t care about anyone else in this issue.

Could someone PLEASE tell me why Gonzales should stay?

In my opinion, Gonzo should stay as long as he possibly can in order for the 29% to begin to see how batshit insane the Chimp is. If Gonzo is fighting this, he’s not doing anymore damage to this country, so I’m not all that fussed.

    I’m being halfway sarcastic….of course.

In order to fix a problem you have to understand the problem. If you want to get rid of that problem you have to “strike at the root”. If you don’t pull a weed up from it’s root what happens? It grows back. QED.

And I stand behind Bush. He’s like a father to me or an older brother. I support him in whatever he does.

If you don’t support Bush, you don’t support America. It’s really that simple.

    Comment by firehead

Sure, sure whatever you say BushCultist.

“The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else.” -Theodore Roosevelt, Kansas City Star, 149 May 7, 1918

Question: is Bush’s Bible missing Matthew 5:9? If not, how does he reconcile his actions with this Bible verse?

  34. MrHaney says:

firehead: America needs our President to be strong leader. The world needs him to be a strong leader. What an utter failure he turned out to be. His last, best day was 9-12-01 when he had the whole world behind him and America united. Too bad he looks across the table for advice when he most needs it and sees unprincipled and immoral men like Dick Cheney and Karl Rove. Every decision they have helped him kae has been wrong. Ask 3,200 families about his Iraq decision. Now with Alberto Gonzales as Attorney General, Bush has lost all respect. You are watching the end of the Republican Party and anyone who thinks the GOP is the right party to fix the mess they made needs more help than a blog can give them.

  37. John Gilpins says:

    Evilpoet,

I firmly believe Bush is mentally ill, and I really don’t think he’s aware of his diminished mental state. That’s my gut-feeling, and I’ve had six years to observe this guy. We’ve all had time to think about this guy, and people in his admininstration.

Some of our leaders appear to be sadists. Blowing up frogs, and branding a frat guys’ naked bottom is not normal.

Some of these guys play rough, and taking them on is equally rough. They appear to enjoy cruelty, and enjoying someone’s pain. It’s very sad. Firing people must give them a high in a perverse sense. When people pay money to watch two pitbulls fight to their death, they most likely have shills run up their spine as it’s exciting for them.

As children, they must have suffered immense pain from ridicule and from being different. Now, they’re in positions of power, and their agenda is to get even. They carry a grudge.

I know people who have had terrible childhoods, and it can turn some of them into monsters. They, themselves, don’t have much of a clue.

No one likes pain as a child–emotional or physical so they most likely have blocked much of it out. I’m sure George Bush doesn’t think of frogs legs, guts, or eyes, flying through the air. He might think of naked frat boys’ bottoms, but I don’t know.

I’m sure some mentally-disturbed people sleep better when they see two dead dogs, with blood and guts near a cash register. Many may pay $50 or even $100 to watch death. It certainly costs money to breed some dogs to be mean and nasty. The dogs with the best fighting abilities are desired. Bigger teeth are probably measured, and that gene brings top dollar.

Every child should be loved and accepted whether you’re dumb, geekish, smart, white, Hispanic, gay, lesbian, or Jewish.

    You’re not alone.

We’ve all had time to think about this guy, and people in his admininstration.

Here’s a sobering thought if you’ve never had it: EVERYTHING Bush does is in the name of God. If he really truly believes that he’s God’s emissary (which I think he does) – that not only makes him capable of doing anything but far more dangerous than if he were just saying it to secure his legacy. I have read that he might have started drinking again and that he may be mixing it with anti-depressants or some other drug along those lines. Don’t know if it’s true or not, but it would certainly explain things. Adding religion to the mix just makes it more of a problem. He’s obviously adopted Nixon’s philosophy: “…when the President does it, that means that it is not illegal.” – so I wouldn’t put anything past him. I think it’s time to think about this. Just my two cents.

    EvilPoet,

I just wrote a long comment, in regard to your post, and I lost the whole thing. I don’t know what happened, and I don’t have enough time to write everything over.

I’ll just touch on a few points. You’re right about everything. Bush frames everything in the name of God and religion. His whole family operates under different rules, and they milk the system.

It’s almost as if they hook up a cash cow milking machine to every governmental ATM. The sound of gingling money is very important to them.

Bush’s humor is beyond sick. Remember the WMD joke? That is sick. He hasn’t found WMD.

The Menninger Clinic, one of the best psychiatrict clinics in the country and formerly based in the Midwest, relocated to Houston, Texas a few years ago.

George W. Bush sure didn’t find WMD, but the Menninger Clinic sure found a lot of mental illness in Houston, Texas. Boy did they find a lot of mental ilness. Let’s see, how many Bush family members live in Houston? Quite a few.

I do wonder why the Menninger Clinic relocated to Houston, Texas of all places. Talk about a cash cow. It must be a cash cow to the Bush family bank ATM.

I think it’s safe to say that the Menninger Clinic found a whole BOAT load of mental illness in Texas. Boat is a key word here, if you get my drift. Bush is a key word here, too, if you get my drift.

    John

  46. John Gilpins says:

    I forgot to mention something.

I think a lot of gay Republicans need to go to the MEN-ninger Clinic. MEN is in the title. How can a gay Republican not lose. Let’s get real! It’s a win-win proposition. Well, maybe proposition is the wrong word. Mark Foley would say proposition is the wrong word.

If the MEN-ninger Clinic can’t cure homosexuality, no one can. Not even God, herself. The MEN-ninger Clinic is nationally-known in psychiatric care.

TP is one of the top blog Web sites in the country, and millions of people read this. Just think, thousands of gay and lesbian Republicans will be making appointments at the MEN-ninger Clinic Monday to cure their homosexuality. No God, no Jerry Falwell, no Billy Graham, no other fundie.

Mary and Heather, you can make an appointment after the baby is born. It’s just several months.
