Chris Matthews asks questions.

By Nico Pitney on Mar 27th, 2007 at 10:46 am

Chris Matthews asks questions.

From last night’s Hardball: “Is there out in the country, or out in the Atlantic Ocean, some gigantic monster, big, green, horny-headed — all kinds of horns coming out, big aggressive monster of anti-Hillaryism?” (HT: Wake-Up Call)

56 Responses to “Chris Matthews asks questions.”

  1. Mackey says:

    RUN AL RUN!

She doesn’t deserve to be President.

  2. Mackey says:

    RUN AL RUN!

    She doesn’t deserve it.

  3. Attaturk says:

I’m not at all a Hillary Clinton supporter. She is easily my (what are there now?) 7th or 8th choice amongst the Democratic candidates.

However, it is about time Matthews got called out for this never ending stream of misogyny he spews out about Hillary Clinton for at least a quarter of his show every stinking day.

  4. bill griley says:

    Let’s hope so.

  5. Badmoodman says:

    Wow Chris, you’re a real E.B. White.

  6. sceptic says:

Matthews has always hated the Clintons ,they have too much brain for his spastic personality

  7. Steve Wyle says:

Matthews is right. Gore is the best candidate out there and needsto jump in quick or we will have another Kerry moment on our hands.

  8. James says:

The answer is YES! The slogan for 08 should be “New Blood: No More Bushes, No More Clintons.”

I think giving those two families a monopoly on executive power for the last oh, twenty years is bad enough. Why continue?

  9. s says:

Matthews is a mysoginist, a gossip, a shill, and an idiot.

I second it: Run Al Run! The draft Gore for 2008 movement is growing by leaps and bounds. Check out AlGore.org

  10. Mr. Todd says:

uh geez chris, i hope its not too horny.

  11. Mackey says:

Did anyone catch Hilllary’s nasty staredown of Al during the Congressional hearings? If those looks were ever directed at me I would have messed around with interns also.

  12. linda says:

good grief, the sexual obsession chris matthews has with the clintons border on the psychotic. every friggin night there’s a segment devoted to her.

tweety is one sick, perverted customer.

  13. theswan says:

Chris should never describe himself in that manner, even though he is spot on.

  14. linda says:

  15. kenoshaMarge says:

Matthews comes unglued whenever he talks about Hillary. He attacked the Vilsacks for throwing their support behind Hillary like an unhinged maniac. He must have realized how nutso he was acting by the look of incredulity on Christie Vilsack’s face. He told her it was just “Hardball” and she said she was fine with that. She then slapped the Hardball back at Tweety in the sweetest, gentlest manner by saying that Hillary was an dear friend and a wonderful person. She obviously saw what many of those of us of the female gender have seen for a long time; Chris Matthews doesn’t really like women.

  16. Zimzone says:

Matthews is as bad as Limpballs.

Yes, Chris, there is a big monster…it’s you!

Pathetic POS, trying hard to one-up other Neoslut News Nothings.

  17. hterrya says:

I have promised Sen. Clinton that I would never vote for her because of her vote for the invasion, occupation, and destruction of Iraq.

However, Chris Matthews silliness about Sen. Clinton parallels his intense hatred of President Clinton, during that administration.

Who knows what makes Chris Matthews tick? I suspect it has something to do with his allegedly staying drunk most of the time, even on his show.

  18. Mackey says:

Hillary a “wonderful person?” C’mon…..we know that can’t be true.

Kudos to Chris Matthews for keeping it real just like he did with Plame-gate.

  19. DoingNuance says:

I’ll say it again. HRC is super smart, super competent, super stong. And she’s a super knowledgeable policy wonk who could be an even more effective president than Bill. Women like that SCARE AMERICA. I did not want her to run, because (after everything else this country has put her through) I did not want to see her subjected to the barrage of ugliness and incivility that I knew would errupt. Liberal conservative progressive male female, whatever – this country is too redneck and rightwing to elect a woman president. Everyone says it’s not cause she’s a woman, it’s specific to her, but I don’t believe it. It’s sexism.

  20. Craig Jackson says:

in all fairness the bushes had the whitehouse for what, 20 years right? (between VP and Pres) Clintons got a little more time coming.

I say anyone but Rudy. and I mean anyone on either side.

  21. sceptic says:

I’ll gladly vote for HILLARY ,time for a woman to preside over the country. Men have’nt done so good . May there be will peace and reconstruction. If there is a better more qualified woman out there bring her forth.

  22. Blair says:

#19 and #21 – that is such BS. It has nothing to do with sexism. Jennifer Granholm, Dianne Feinstein, and even Nancy Pelosi and many other women leaders are far more effective than Hillary will ever be. She is shrill, opportunistic and not what this country needs right now. Moreover, she doesn’t deserve it. Stay in the Senate, Hill. We don’t want you.

  23. Bobbi says:

Re: 14 – Bill’s decorum (or lack thereof) in the WH is totally fair game in this race. He was a great President. He would have been an epic President had he been able to keep his zipper up. Should we really vote for Hillary because she is a victim? No. Al Gore is the right man for the time.

  24. Granola Hippy says:

I’d hate to vote for Hillary. She’s two faced. She’d better not get the nomination, not just because I don’t like her, but because so many people hate her that she stands no chance of winning and I don’t think I’m up for four more years of republican rule.

  25. sickofitall says:

What is up with Tweety? ‘Horny-headed’? First it’s Clinton’s cock, then it’s Chimpy’s package, now it’s the ‘horny headed’ monster (with many heads…)

  26. Thomas Murnien says:

I am not a Hillary supporter because I have grown weary of the culture of infallibilty in the oval office. Furthermore, it would appear as if far too many Republican Party apparatchiks are licking their chops, lying in wait to destroy this woman in a presidential campaign. Add a few sprinkles of Nader, who has said he’s in if she is, and here we go again.

  27. bunny2 says:

hopefully the Democrats will be smart enough not to nominate Hillary. i am a woman and a liberal, but just because Hillary has a vagina, does NOT mean she will be a good president.

moreover, the liberals will be screwing themselves if they elect her in the primary because i don’t even think many liberals would win her vote for the election. she is fake and only wants publicity. if people are too stupid to see that, then i will glady leave the country :)

  28. tom baker says:

I didn’t know Roger Ailes spent all his time on a yacht.

  29. Pillage, Plunder THEN Burn! says:

If you LOVE Israeli foreign policy, then VOTE HILLARY!!

  30. sceptic says:

OK WE HAVE IT ALL WOMEN HATERS ALL ISRALI HATERS COME OUT DISGUISED AS PROGRESSIVE .THEY REALLY ARE BUSHIES TRYING TO PRY DIVISIONS AMONG DEMOCRATS . Gore is a good man , but like kerry he is a looser . Right now , he is kissing ass with religiousity .

  31. BaltimoreTom says:

What I find interesting is that the monster Matthews mentions is a direct lift from the Beast of the Antichrist in the Book of the Revelation, even down to coming out of the sea.

So if this Beast is anti-Hillary, that would make her equal to … Christ?

  32. BaltimoreTom says:

What I find funny is that Matthews’ monster is a direct lift from the Beast of the Antichrist in the Bokk of Revelation, even down to coming out of the sea.

So, if the beast here is anti-Hillary, does that make Hillary…Christ?

  33. Bluedog49 says:

Mackey, I can see you have a real mancrush on Chris Matthews, but if you think he likes the idea of Gore running, please remember what he has said about him in the past: “Chris Matthews on Gore, (11/2/01): He doesn’t look like one of us. He doesn’t seem very American, even.”

Chris Matthews on Hillary, yesterday: When she was—weren’t those dead people’s eyes? That was the coldest look. No phony smile, nothing.

Mackey, the transcript shows that Hillary asked Gore questions which allowed him to expand on his favorite points, was extremely cordial to him and even asked Boxer if it would be alright to ask Gore to come back for more expanding on his favorite points. Matthews and his band of Irish-catholic criminals lied in your face and, of course, you believe every word of it. I think your mancrush on Chris has clouded your memory.

  34. Jackie Rawlings says:

Matthews hates strong woman. He insulted Elizabeth Edwards now Hillary.
I wonder how all the bloggers feel about their own Mothers and how strong and supportive they were when they raised their children. We say woman can’t be leaders yet woman raise the same men to become leaders.
Each person on this blog will honor their MOM on Mother’s Day yet I read these comments. Many countries have woman Presidents yet the US is the leader in equal rights to women and demand other countries do the same.
Look in the mirror what do you see?
Hillary Clinton will be the first American woman President and money will get her there just like it got the idiot Bush. All the negative comments will be changed to support once she takes the oath of office.
I hope all of you remember your own Mothers on that day of honor MOTHER’S DAY.

  35. Bluedog49 says:

    “What is up with Tweety?”

Chris Matthews is part of a sick, conservative Irish-catholic mob which runs our political discourse on television. Big time conservative Irish catholic Jack Welsh used to brag at parties that he “turned” Matthews and Russert with $5 million a year contracts. Now, of course, Matthews works hard to convince people that democrats (especially Hillary and Al) are big creeps and repubs are great guys you would want to have a beer with. Matthews is a disgrace. He’s a big part of what’s wrong with our media.

  36. gloria flores says:

I don’t particularly care for Hillary Clinton and hope she’s not nominated. Still, I do think she’s absolutely intelligent, a quality that seems to scare Matthews and his ilk. Perhaps her intelligence emasculates him and others who refer to her as cold, hard, etc. I think he, Hannity, et al prefer theStepford Wife mentality of Laura Bush, Barbara Dole and other “ladylike” women.

  37. Bluedog49 says:

“Who knows what makes Chris Matthews tick?”

$5 million a year from Jack Welsh and his friends.

  38. Bluedog49 says:

Mackey: “Did anyone catch Hilllary’s nasty staredown of Al during the Congressional hearings?”

Watch the hearings on CSPAN. That NEVER happens. After you watch the entire hearing, then please think about what Matthews and his band of whores said on that show and what they have been saying for years. You’re being played like a cheap fiddle.

  39. BrianMemphis says:

Matthews does seem to have a real problem with the Clintons. I must admit that I am not incredibly thrilled that Mrs. Clinton could win the nomination, but come on. If she does get the nomination, Matthews should recuse himself from any further analysis because I believe he has made his feelings clear about Hillary and Bill as well. You can’t be an objective analyst that way. Any to all Hillary “haters”, you can work with Hillary when she is in office. Do you really think you can work with a Romney, McCain, or Rudy!? Many people voted for the war and it would be nice for her to say “I regret it. I made a huge mistake and tried to show strength when I should have shown more courage”. I understand this, but if Kerry is any indication, if she were to say this, she would suffer from the safe ridiculous attacks. Just vote for Hillary if she gets the nomination. Don’t necessarily campaign for her or say she is the greatest. Just vote. No more Republican rule please!

  40. Jo-Ann says:

Poor Chris Matthews should get his pressure checked. Just the mention of Hillary sends him into an apoplectic state. He’s so funny…He’ll be institutionalized when she wins.

  41. Zep Tepi says:

Who is Matthews trying to impress with big green horny headed beasts from the Atlantic speak?

    Readers of comic books?

Is this supposed to pass for intellectualism?

Did Matthews watch too many Godzilla flicks as a latch key kid??

  42. Bluedog49 says:

The fact that paid whores like Matthews come on television and pound on Hillary night after night should tell us a lot about whom repubs are most concerned about in the upcoming election.

  43. Zep Tepi says:

    Okay, so Matthews thinks Hillary is probably bad for GE’s business, I guess he missed this horny headed big green thing;

The “war on terrorism” has seen GE’s military contracts rise substantially. But the company’s “defense” side has been doing well for a while. GE and other military contractors got a big boost under the Clinton administration from Presidential Directive 41…

  44. Zep Tepi says:

I resent, as a member of the public, being placed in the center of corporate Americas battle for bucks, government welfare, and military contracts.
I resent being treated as an uneducated non-thinking nitwit of universal proportions that doesn’t know economics from physics and punditry from truth.
I resent pundits and shills with their misleading marvel comic beastly bloviating and colorful, but useless, rhetoric.

They Need To Stop that Sheet. -G\/\/B

  45. KEFA461 says:

Tweety is like a stalker….she needs to send him a pair of panties and maybe he’s leave her alone, at least for one show.

  46. Raymond Funamoto says:

“big aggressive MONSTER of anti-Hillaryism….” GEE, THAT SOUNDS JUST LIKE…..CHRIS MATTHEWS!!!!!!
Good Ol’ Chris, ALWAYS MANAGES TO PUT HIS ELEPHANTINE(tending towards repugnant-repub rightwingnut crank fudge-pachydermy) FOOT IN HIS BIG MOUTH!!!!!
HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH!!!!!! AND A BIG HAH! To Chris!

  47. Innocent Bystander says:

“She obviously saw what many of those of us of the female gender have seen for a long time; Chris Matthews doesn’t really like women.”

Understand that Chris spent his formative College years at Holy Cross College (same place/time Clarance Thomas went (remember Anita Hill?)). During his time there (late 60’s) it was all male. The school transitioned to coed during the early 70’s when I went there. But I can tell you, there were a lot of guys couldn’t handle having women on campus…I’m sure the Tweeter was in that group of guys who’d get loaded on a Friday night and hit the mixer’s trying to impress the girls being bussed in. No doubt Chris probably had more than a few females call him on his troglydyte attitudes…he wouldn’t have been alone. His emotional maturity seems pretty stunted.

  48. Maria says:

What the hell is Chris Matthews’ problem? I understand criticism of Hillary – hell, she’s not my favourite candidate either – but every time he talks about her it’s couched in such vicious and often breathtakingly sexist terms. What a neanderthal.

  49. joshdestardi says:

DoingNuance, I completely agree with your assessment.

    Here is a simple fact:

When American news media splashed all over that “Hillary fakes southern accent” during an address to a southern congregation, there was no huge outcry about how disgustingly false, and deceitful they were being, even from ‘liberals.’ This woman takes more crap than she needs to, and I for one, can’t stomach people, liberal or otherwise who are not honest with themselves.

I’ll say it again…people hate her because of the fact that she’s a ‘her’ to begin with; people didn’t support Al Sharpton, or Jesse Jackson, because they were “too black,” and now there’s an upswelling for Obama who has hardly one bit of substance, because he’s “just right,” an “acceptable black.”

I’m a progressive, because I can say these things and not be called names; that’s why I strongly contribute and support the progressive movement, and hate what’s being done to this country by the ‘republicans,’ but goddamnit stop the hillary bashing on our side.
