Chief climate skeptic Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) “is vowing to stall Gore’s hotly anticipated Capitol concert to draw attention to global warming,” claiming it is a “partisan” event, despite its bipartisan sponsorship. “Inhofe appeared to see little room for an accommodation that could allow the concert to go forward. ‘There’s no compromise.’”

Republican. Corrupt. Idiot. it’s a toxic brew.
March 27th, 2007 at 9:51 pmWeak, Inhofe, totally weak….
March 27th, 2007 at 9:52 pmWhat was that word from the Republic controlled Congress….what was that…….oh yeah…obstructionist. Or an old crotchety party-pooper.
March 27th, 2007 at 9:55 pmGO INHOFE!!!
March 27th, 2007 at 9:57 pmInhofe made a flaming jackass and a fool of himself during Gore’s testimony on the Hill last week so it makes sense that he’s licking his wounds and trying to bring some attention to himself.
Basically, Inhofe was totally “shot down” by shooting himself in the foot by his obvious partisan ugliness and narrowmindedness; then he was castrated by Barbara Boxer for which she received a huge ovation from the group and observers.
Inhofe is a old fool and an incompetent jackass. Now the american public have seen his shoddy performance and have even greater disdain for him. I’d be ashamed if he were representing my state, that’s for sure.
March 27th, 2007 at 9:58 pmInhofe’s still smarting from the beating he took from Gore during his hearing on global climate change. Getting bitch-slapped by Boxer for not allowing Gore to give full answers to his loaded questions didn’t help his demeanor, either.
So now Inhofe’s got a BIG ol’ axe to grind, and he thinks he’s going to get payback by stopping the Capitol concert. I just wonder how pissed he’s going to be after this maneuver fails…
March 27th, 2007 at 9:58 pmInbred Inhofe is showing his inbecility and looking like a total dunce here. Typical GOP idiot….not anything very creative or intelligent….just your garden-variety GOP charlatan.
March 27th, 2007 at 9:59 pmIs that true? No partisan political event at the Capitol?
March 27th, 2007 at 10:00 pmGO INHOFE!!!

Yes go….go far away…and please take Jake with you.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:01 pmGO INHOFE!!!
Comment by Jake — March 27, 2007 @ 9:57 pm
How fringe is Jake? He’s 100 on the Inhofe scale! How *embarrassing* for him!! BAHAHAHAHAA
The only thing *more* embarrassing is that neither Jake’Off nor Inhofe realize *exactly* how st*pid they are! That’s the *real* joke!
March 27th, 2007 at 10:01 pmThe truth for the Tillmans please!
So many lies from the Bush Republicans and the military. It’s time that we honor our troops and their families. Starting with the Tillmans, who were lied to over and over and over. It’s time to do the right thing and tell the truth. It’s time.

March 27th, 2007 at 10:01 pmHeh, veritas…great minds and all that.. ^_^
March 27th, 2007 at 10:02 pmInhofe is the classic example of “there’s NO FOOL like an OLD FOOL”. He’s totally out of touch with the pulse of the planet; in fact, at the hearing it was difficult to tell if he was, in fact, aware of time and space. Inhofe is irrelevant and will be the laughing stock of the people who will again emasculate him for being such a supreme jackass….the concert will go forward as planned and Inhofe’s resistance will isolate him even more among his constituents.
Inhofe is doing his part to enable the obvious collapse of the Republican Party. Atta boy, old geyser! You go old man.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:03 pmWhaaaaaaaaaaa WHaaaaaaaa Iwanna play with My toys, Iwanna play at My house
March 27th, 2007 at 10:03 pmJust heard that Kucinich’s committee is opening up the 9/11 commission “official report”…. “cryin’ time is coming for the Bushies, folks and it ain’t going to be pretty when the Truth is brought to the light.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:04 pmJesus, what century is this guy from?!?
March 27th, 2007 at 10:05 pmInhofe is slowly sliding into insanity. There should be a “Death List” of sorts made but it should be a “Crazy List”. Everyone pick 5 Repugs and Conservative henchmen that they think will go totally bat-skat crazy before the end of Chimperor’s reign in 2008. Whoever has the most wins. Inhofe is definitely on my list.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:05 pmTripMaster - as the adage goes….great minds think alike! Top of the evening to ya! Always love your posts and kudos to the intel you manifest as you cut a swath through the idiot trolls on these threads.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:05 pmHe’d be all excited over a Dead Earth event, though…
March 27th, 2007 at 10:07 pmInhofe reminded me of some skinny little waifish girl in the third grade who is so petty and picayune about how much “time” she will be given for her presentation that he looked like a sniveling little moron - then Boxer bitch-slapped him into place and the roar was heard through the crowd. I’d say Inhofe was handily outclassed and nailed by Boxer. He’s irrelevant now and smarting because when he had the committee he did absolutely nothing noteworthy.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:07 pmSoon it will be: Inhofe who???
Inhole (mean A$hofe) or I mean Inhofe-hole definitely makes the top 5 list of idiots the Rethugs would be better off without these days.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:09 pmIsn’t Inhofe that idiot who said there hadn’t been a homosexual in his family for a zillion generations?
March 27th, 2007 at 10:10 pmJakette - he can’t hear you.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:13 pmAs the GOP implodes around him, Inhofe takes on the tough issues. His “Concert Controversy” harkens back to Reagan-era dullard James Watts and his desire to keep “the wrong element” away from Washington DC during the 4th of July concert in 1983 featuring the Beach Boys.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:16 pmNobody objects if you euthanize a rabid dog.
How unfortunate that such measures are inappropriate for cases like this.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:19 pmQuestion:
How on earth can this guy stop a concert, event, whatever, from taking place?
Isn’t this our country?
Right to assemble and all that?
March 27th, 2007 at 10:20 pmInhofe must be a total moron. Besides being on the wrong side on Global Warming, he is making his chosen adversary much more sympathetic while giving him priceless publicity. You would think he was really on Gore’s side.
Moron.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:21 pmSenator Inbred is totally corrupted by his buddies in the oil and gas indusries.
Someone needs to ratchet him down a few notches in Congress because he clearly has no manners and he is an imbecile. He is loud, arrogant, and ill-bred. Moreover, he is so ignorant that he confuses climate with weather. Someone ought to explain to this idiot that climate is a trend, while weather is / are merely poins in time on a trend, and that a few data points do not make a trend.
Of course, he would not even care. All he cares about is that his cronies in the oil and gas industry get what they want. The guy wil probably be run out of office in 2008 and immediately revert to some lucrative post with the oil and gas industry.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:31 pmRight to assemble and all that?
Comment by trueblue
Hence my “weak” comment. :D
March 27th, 2007 at 10:35 pmSo, Inhofe’s emotional level is about…what? Five years old? Six, maybe?
Somebody should set up a playdate for him and Dubya.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:36 pmYou always beat me to it, Zooey.
:)
March 27th, 2007 at 10:36 pmI wish I had an Uncle Guido in Jersey City who would be willing to knee-cap this pathetic excuse for a human. Inhofe is proof that oil money talks.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:48 pmYou have to give the old dog this much, he sticks to his guns no matter what. I understand skepticism, its only human arrogance that allows for us to just wipe our hands and say, “Yes, those scientist are always right” just as much as it is our ignorance that can allow us to say “We are having no effect on the planet whatsoever.”
The only thing that makes this a partisan thing is one Party keeps cockblocking Al for trying to get something that could be beneficial. Damn, it only took them till Nov 9 before the Republican started crying “partisanship” and they haven’t stopped since. How about this, quit whining, get off your ass and start representing your constituents.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:49 pmIf everyone who wanted to attend the concert charged toward Inhofe at the same time….
Well, you know. I’m sure the aftermath would allow the show to go forward.
March 27th, 2007 at 10:52 pmInofee and Jake…a couple of BAFFOONS

Two great legends in their own minds.
March 27th, 2007 at 11:31 pmNothing’s better for democrats than the likes of Inhofe, Gonzalez and Jake continually flapping their gums.
You boys just keep talking until 2008 - let’s see how many voters you scare off.
March 27th, 2007 at 11:35 pmZooey,
Cut it out! You have quite the life.
You inspire me.
March 27th, 2007 at 11:37 pmTruly.
:)))
Inhofe is the biggest right wing psycho out there. My ex (southern Baptist from OK) wouldn’t have thought about voting for that toad. OK is one disgusting state.
March 27th, 2007 at 11:37 pmWow.
Really, JPark?
How did you end up with that (now) ex in that state?
(If you don’t mind the question. Otherwise, tell me to butt out.)
You seem so,… non OKLA…
:)
March 27th, 2007 at 11:48 pmI wonder if anyone ever clued Inhofe into the first rule of getting ones self out of a hole? Stop Digging!! Then again he can’t help himself, like a dog being a dog. In this case a complete Idiot!
March 27th, 2007 at 11:57 pm#41 I am very non OK. She came to our company for oversight (she was a CPA…well, probably still is). She was up here is WI for about 6 months. Things happened. She really was a sweet person despite being a southern baptist (she was more about the Jesus teachings than most of the evangelicals). It was a shame that she went back to that hellhole…sweet, gorgeous, intelligent and so unlike most Oklahomans…Ah, well, c’est la vie.
March 28th, 2007 at 12:02 amHow is a climate concert a partisan event? Because Inhofe thinks only Democrats care about the environment??? I live in the South and know plenty of environmentalist right-wingers who love the outdoors and wild-life.
Inhofe wants this issue to be about Democrat vs. Republican, when in reality, it is about people who care for our environment and the future of humanity, and people who are owned/brainwashed by corporations which do not want to change their ways or adapt to the changing environment.
For the right-wingers who say we’ll hurt business, think of all the business and oppurtunity we can CREATE. The companies developing/improving things like clean, renewable energy will be the ones reaping the rewards. The US can become a global leader in environmental cleanup or renewable energy technology if we just put the resources into it. It should not be countries like Brazil who teach us how to convert to ethanol.
March 28th, 2007 at 12:03 amI wonder if anyone ever clued Inhofe into the first rule of getting ones self out of a hole? Stop Digging!! Then again he can’t help himself, like a dog being a dog. In this case a complete Idiot!
Comment by Jim Wolf359 — March 27, 2007 @ 11:57 pm
Love that. I think he was a dog in a previous life, one big, mangy, ornery, ugly with smelly breath dog.
March 28th, 2007 at 12:06 amBecause people love useless dichotomies. Good vs. Evil, Left vs. Right (Left vs. Wrong), Country vs. Pop, Bengals vs. Browns. It gives people a definitive side to join so that they can muster all of their concern into their position.
It could be that Inhofe is just a repugnant ass. Damn global warming skeptics…
March 28th, 2007 at 12:08 am#44 Brian, the right is incredibly closed minded about the environment. Yes, there are some “sportsmen” who would like to have a nice environment but they are shouted down by the extremists. It may not be an environmental issue but look at what the right did to Jim Zumbo. They crucified him though his column was eminently reasonable. The right, no matter what there personal beliefs, will fall behind a strong push. They are pathetic.
March 28th, 2007 at 12:08 amInhofe needs to stop the concert because concert means music and music is Satan’s Spawn! At least I figure that’s what the wacko is thinking.
March 28th, 2007 at 12:10 amThanks Shane. I guess I can be clever sometimes!!
March 28th, 2007 at 12:11 amI’m sorry, JPark.
I hope I didn’t intrude. I guess I always thought of you as a “mover and shaker” NY type. (I guess your liberal nature)
Are you still in WI?
March 28th, 2007 at 12:13 aminhofe is right to try and block this, just like james watt was right to try and block the beach boys from playing in d.c. because they would draw an undesirable element. everybody knows that nobody hates america as much as a former vice president and the beach boys.

March 28th, 2007 at 12:40 amIt is a shame Hastert is gone. We could see him sprint his fat ass from his hybrid over to his Escalade after the show.
March 28th, 2007 at 12:46 amInhofe - there was this dude who sat in his throne in England back when men were men and grannies were firewood and tried to stop the tide in coming up the beach…… dude couldn’t swim either….bad choice.

March 28th, 2007 at 1:55 amQuiz
1. Is the Earth experiencing “global Waming” aka “Climate Change”?
Yes/no
2. Is this change caused:
a) Mainly by mankind
c) Its a natural cyclical thing
b) Some man, Some nature
If you answered NO to q1 then you are like Inhofe Jake et al.
March 28th, 2007 at 3:37 amHowever, answering YES opens up the true debate which is open to ALL sides of the political spectrum.
Surely even the most one-eyed denier can tell SOMETHING is out of whack - even if the root cause of that change is still hotly debated.
#62 You are thinking of King Canute, aka Cnut, from around 1018
March 28th, 2007 at 3:40 am#62 & #66-
Guess there’s something to the concept of reincarnation after all..
March 28th, 2007 at 7:01 amBlockhead In-whore vows to block science, discussion, testimony, concert, and Gore. Keeping Okies safe by keeping them dumb.
March 28th, 2007 at 7:10 amThis clown ought to go back to Oklahoma and STAY! He doesn’t own the District of Columbia nor should he have any sway on whether or not the people of this country want to have a lawfully conducted concert of any kind ON THE PEOPLE’S real estate! Just where does Sen INOUT get off?! The really cool thing is that every time he appears on TV, he makes a complete ASS of himself. Yukkkk!
March 28th, 2007 at 7:11 amWhy do these freaks always have to take a vow?
A VOW?
You wanna see a vow?
“I’ll get that white whale!”
That was a Vow!
Vowing to stop a concert is along the lines of trying to get rid of tha pesky “Animal House” frat.
March 28th, 2007 at 7:50 amThe term ‘partisan’, to Inhofe, does not refer to Republican or Democrat, but to whether or not one is a sniveling inane shill for big oil/corporatism or not. Inhofe is, in fact, serving his narrow, corporate constituency quite well. (You didn’t really ever believe that he represents the people of Oklahoma, did you?)
March 28th, 2007 at 7:50 amInhofe is forgetting that elections have consequences. His acting out only makes him look foolish. Senator Boxer will have the final say on this matter.
March 28th, 2007 at 8:04 amI hope he gets struck by lightning. It would be a message.
March 28th, 2007 at 8:13 amRepublican mantra, “there’s no compromise.”
March 28th, 2007 at 8:28 amA govt official trying to stop a rock concert? — This is just the kind of fight that gets folks fired up. I guess Inhofe thinks he’s found his weapon. - Let’s let him use it and see how much good it does him.. hee hee
March 28th, 2007 at 8:31 amOklahoma……vote this embarrassment of a representative out of office as soon as possible! He is obviously a paid hack……

I’m kind of confused. How can he block a concert in Washington? Did someone appoint him god? Calling Barbara Boxer….calling Barbara Boxer…..it’s time to bitch slap this jerk again.
March 28th, 2007 at 10:45 amHis hatred of Gore is really amusing.
March 28th, 2007 at 12:00 pmInfole reminds me of the old 1960s Southern Democrats (DINOs) who did everything they could to keep civil rights laws from passing.

March 28th, 2007 at 1:00 pmHere is a good writeup on Inhofe. The section on his attempts to block the control of mercury emission control is typical. Well, at least he’s consistent!

Let’s hope the good people of Oklahoma do us a favor in 2008!!
March 28th, 2007 at 1:09 pmWow, Onhoff trying to stop this concert sounds just like something the PMRC would have tried a few years ago. Does anyone remember who headed that group up? Maybe who headed up the Senate hearings?
March 28th, 2007 at 1:10 pm78 - I’m kind of hoping he’ll stage a 1-man sit-in, and chain himself to something, or just lie on the sidewalk kicking and screaming while concert-goers file past.
Gotta be tough on the ol’feller to accept that he’s now, officially, “behind the times”. Now he knows how his ol’Pappy felt when them young’uns come around, revvin the motors in their so-called aut-o-mo-biles and raisin’em a big’ol ruckus down t’the feed mill.
March 28th, 2007 at 5:21 pmWhat Inhofe is really doing here is grand-standing for Big Oil. He’s essentially saying, “Don’t forget to send your campaign cash. You know I’m your biggest whore.”

March 29th, 2007 at 7:12 pm[…] Earth minus DC By Sue Why is Senator James Inhofe trying so desperately hard to block the Live Earth concert from the Capitol grounds? Could a personality problem be overtaking a global event? How stupid does […]
March 30th, 2007 at 7:00 amTo Inhofe:
Gavel: Not Yours
Hope you can revel in your “victory” knowing that.
Oh and I hope he understands the precedent he just set with saying one should support something dubbed a “partisan and political” event being held in the Capitol grounds. The right shouldn’t mewl if that get’s thrown back intheir faces when they have a little party they want to put on.
Then again, they really don’t have concerts do they? They just camp outside poor brain damaged women’s hospitals…
March 30th, 2007 at 10:54 amBought off by big oil. A pathetic and shameful show that he might someday be sorry for. This would be especially true because he has a big family who will be the benefactors of his corrupt and embarrassing position. Meanwhile the ice keeps melting.
March 30th, 2007 at 9:00 pmI’m looking forward to this! With Al’s clout, me thinks the lineups are going to be awesome. And for the biggest cause that I can think of today other than Iraq. Here is a question and I am by no means dissing Al Gore. Why is it that Democrats who have held high office seem to do their best work AFTER they leave office. Think Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton among others. Good and Important work. Just a thought. And I do hope Al wins the Nobel for Peace. It would be appropriate.
