Video: Doan is ‘totally paranoid!’»

Yesterday, ThinkProgress noted this catch from Nitpicker from the House hearing with Government Services Administration head Lurita Doan:

Listening into the live webcast of the GSA hearings just now, the camera was down, but the audio was still up and you could here GSA Administrator Lurita Doan griping about the investigation and telling one of her people to take her glass, cause she doesn’t want ‘them to have my fingerprints. They’ve got me totally paranoid!” Hilarious.

We tracked down the video. Doan tells an assistant, “Take my water, and my glasses. I don’t want to leave any fingerprints, they’ve got me totally paranoid.” Watch it:

  8. Zimzone Says:

Would this be a Bush appointee, by any chance?

She appears to be dumber than a rock; just like her Cheerleader ‘N Chief.

  9. SteveW Says:

    She stole a glass?

  10. lw Says:

One has good reason to be concerned when one is involved in breaking the law and then is questioned and confronted with the evidence of the crime by a congressional committee.

  11. Keith H. Says:

    I second No. 2.
    Fruitcake for sure.

  12. JPark Says:

As the righties like to say…if you have nothing to hide…

  13. brando Says:

She’s been watching too much CSI. Sounds like she’s got a reason to be paranoid.

  14. dlet Says:

She has a senior position in the Federal Government. They already have her fingerprints. What a wacko.

  15. Train Says:

Funny part is I’d think it was kind of a smart alecy joke, but she should serious and hell…lol

They don’t need to pull all that CSI, SVU stuff to track you down. You’re a federal employee, they know where you live dumbass!

    LOLOLOLOL

  16. whiteyfresh Says:

    found it! cspan 3…

  17. Cynicon Implant Says:

    Your tax dollars at work!

This is why I am for smaller government — the vindictive pursuing the incompetent.

  18. Robert Says:

    Theft of Congressional Tableware!!!

  19. hellinabucket Says:

Cynicon, How outraged were you at Kenneth Starr?

Stole a glass. That’s a good one Steve

  20. lw Says:

“This is why I am for smaller government.”

I’m for efficient and effective government. Not too small to be effective. Not too large to be efficient.

  21. Mark Says:

#17 are you refering to the endless whitewater eharings? Al in alll I too am infavor of smaller government, but more importantly I am in favor of competant government that makkes decisions based on what isbest for our country, not based on what is best for on political party. Especially when that party is a near total failure.

  22. ardee Says:

    paranoia implies underlying guilt…

  23. -epm Says:

I’m sure Doan was as serious as a Cheney hunting trip…

When you’re part of an overbearing, super-secret, totalitarian regime who traffics in personal attacks, dirty tricks and character assassination, you start believing everyone else operates that way as well.

  24. loretta Says:

now this nutcase knows how I’ve been felling during 6+ years of Bush rule.

  26. DitchMitch08 Says:

Doan’s behavior during her testimony yesterday was the most obnoxious and arrogant I have ever seen before a Congressional Committee. She acted like a spoiled child — rude, interrupting, refusing to answer, and making a joke of serious issues. This woman is on our payroll. How do we get her fired?

We know about how Bush destroyed FEMA, the EPA, and God knows how many other agencies. Now we know the GSA is a breeding ground for Bush / GOP political activities.

    “Nice job, Doanie”

  27. Kate Henry Says:

She has a reason to feel paranoid. It’s a whole lot harder to tell a lie than it is to tell the truth. If you tell lies, you have to remember your lies so you won’t slip up. That will make anyone paranoid.

  28. Litz Says:

Excuse me, but shouldn’t her fingerprints already be on file? Years ago I worked for a federal agency–in resource management, mind you, nothing to do with security–and still I had to submit to a full FBI background check, which included fingerprinting. I thought that was part of a government job. And if she doesn’t want to leave her fingerprints behind, then why not? What has she been doing? Stealing? Killing people? If you’ve done nothing wrong, then what’s the big deal! I mean, isn’t that what conservatives always say when liberals don’t want the NSA snooping into people’s phone records and whatnot?

  29. Doan's Little Pill Says:

I have turned over Lurita’s eyeglasses and drinking glass in a plastic bag to the left-wing of the FBI. Hopefully, they will match her fingerprints to bullet casings found in Dallas, 1963.

Ask not what your paranoia can do to you , but what you can do to your paranoia.

  30. Willy Says:

    Dishonesty = paranoia
    Honesty = a cakewalk

    It’s your choice, Doan.

  31. MEB Says:

Don’t worry. As a federal employee, she has already been fingerprinted.

  32. Evil Spaniard Says:

Probably she was affraid of the CSI guys who can determine if a person has the Mad Cow mental illness thanks to a saliva sample…

I think she’s right to worry — I imagine they’d find what they were looking for. :)

  34. Raymond Funamoto Says:

“ALL RIGHT, Lurita, THAT’S ENOUGH BASKETS YOU’VE WEAVED ALREADY!!!!! JESUS, THOSE F*CKING BASKETS ARE OVERFLOWING OUT OF Doan’s PADDED CELL!!!!!” EXPOSTULATED THE WHITE-SUITED GUARD OUTSIDE Lurita Doan’s ASYLUM CELL!!!!!

  35. H Says:

I am sorry, but did I not just see Doan still ” Goverment Property”.

  36. H Says:

I am sorry, did I or did I not just see Doan Steal Goverment Property?
